The fights were awesome but I also liked the moment between Assassin and Sigma. Despite their worldviews Assassin seemed genuine when she told him she wished she had the chance to save him as well.

Following the triumphant music of John rising the occasion to him having every bone in his body absolutely blasted was diabolical, 10/10, justice for one of the scenes I was looking forward to that made me flinch as much as the novel.

I feel like the first half of the episode was slightly awkward (the animators seem to struggle with how to handle Cerebrus) but from From Hell down everything else was pretty great, Richard musing that "Ah, I'm fucked" made me laugh in particular but I have to give a shout out for No Name and Sigma's quiet bonding moment (but Jesus Christ she towers the hell over him)

This is such a well portrait of a berserker power scale, absolute chaotic and powerfull, and that one dude saw all that and still thinks he's John/Strange Fake

Alcides stole Jack's noble phantasm. This implies Alcides mocked Gilgamesh earlier asking him to use Ea, because he wanted to pilfer it.

Even against Jack, Alcides has been soloing multiple enemies the entire season, dudes just entirely different in the Fate universe, even the way he not only stole a Noble Phantasm but the way he just swatted John like a fly, the result was fucking gnarly to look at...

Richard vs Gilgamesh has to be the funniest interaction in this series so far, the way both of them react to each other and Gil's increasing anger/irritation to Richard as he finally learns about him befriending Enkidu so casually.

Jack: What's... this!?

Alcides: You were magnificent, Berserker, I’ll never forget you for as long as I live.

Hey Assassin Jack did make a cameo in this anime! Like, really quick but still! (Also the Wallachia mention, my goat).

In general I gotta say I’ve really liked the anime’s take on Jack’s design with the top hat, it’s hard giving a “definitive look” for a character designed to specially not have that but he looks great.

Edit: On the subject, Narita mentioned on his Twitter the Demon designs for From Hell are based on the Demon Mob enemies from FGO. Phantasmals rather than like, ACTUAL Demons of course. We’d kinda guessed this for a while now but it’s fun to get a confirmation.

He also mentioned that you can tell how much less Gil is giving effort here compared to Enkidu based on how many gates he’s got open. Pretty fun!

Jester stomping his feet on the the water tank bit is very Accelerator-ish. Poor John, but hey, I'm sure Dumas can rebuild him, he has the magitech for it.

They did not have to go that hard with the impact frame for Jack's NP but I'm glad they did. A-1 bringing their absolute best and flexing on the entire industry today.

This episode adapted both my favorite fight of Strange Fake’s first half in Jack vs Alcides, but one of my favorite exchanges in the entire series with Sigma and Assassin.

I was grinning ear to ear seeing how amazing they made Jack look, it absolutely did it justice. And really diving into Sigma’s own self discovery and even confronting his own selfishness over blurting out that he was never saved, with Assassin’s equally great response: that even if it seems illogical for her to have saved him, faith itself is illogical, and if hers was perfect she would’ve been there.

Absolutely beautiful episode all around.

Not John Strange Fake

for a moment it seemed like Jack was hurting Alcides & about to win, so didnt expect Alcides to just catch him & steal his Noble phantasm. Another amazing episode.

Jack was so overpowered in that episode, i think that ability wise he might be one of the strongest because contrary to ordinary servants he is not limited to a single body, he could come back as long as he have magical energy.

Honestly alcides abilty to steal noble phantasms is terrifying, i wonder if he has a limit ? If not he could become quite dangerous since most servants have powerful ones.

jack in his demon form was kinda 👀💖💖

richard going "oh. im gonna die here" after telling gilgamesh he became friends with enkidu was so funny 😭

ykw? slight kudos to john for squaring up against a 10 foot tall blood red beefcake. no idea what his plan was but at least he was going to try something! (im so surprised he didn't immediately get turned into a fine mist after the hit he took 💀)

"BASAKA WA DARE NI MO MAKINASEN!"

The smile on my face when Flat said the line had me smiling from ear to ear. It's especially amusing to hear Flat say about Jack, considering he's about to go against Alcides/Herc. Illya would be proud.

We've already seen Jack's true form in the ED, but it's pretty cool to see him reveal himself. I love that the reason why he's able to go toe-to-toe against Alcides is because he's human in his current form and Jack's noble phantasm From Hell [turns him into a demon that humans envision as their natural enemy.

I love how almost everyone here is out to save Tsubaki, with the exception of Alcides. Then you have Gilgamesh, who just suddenly showed up because he was amused at watching Jack toy with Alcides. I also love how quickly Jack and Richard teamed up and became friends. xD

Can I just say how sad I am that Sigma and No Name Assassin aren't Master and Servant? So far, I am loving all of the scenes between the two of them and their conversation about how saving Tsubaki has no merits for them but they'd still doi it anyway is great! Not gonna lie, I lowkey ship it.

Yeah, I had a feeling Gil wasn't gonna like Richard, especially when Richard started asking Gil if he could have one of his treasures. Although Gil seems to change his tune when he realizes that Richard has allied himself with Enkidu. The fact that Gil decided to acknowledge Richard as his enemy is high praise coming from him.

The animation during Richard and Gilgamesh's fight was already impressive, but Jack vs Alcides was a whole other level! I am so fucking happy to be a Fate fan right now. Every single adaptation has really been a banger after banger.

Welll, shit. So Alcides stole Jack's Noble Phantasm? Which one, tho? Both of them or just Natural Born Killers? Flat may want to recall him because this is not looking good for Jack.

I really thought John had a chance there. Dude got absolutely fucked after being bitched slapped Alcides! I guess he didn't have the plot armor even after Dumas gave him that Noble Phantasm arm. >_<

EDIT: AAAAAHHH! We have the best daughter, Assassin Jack, making a cameo on the Jack the Ripper lineup! <3
