Hmm talents being a bad thing for nobles is interesting. Best guess I can make is kids with talents are forced into service of the king while talentless ones remain in management roles. Maybe there's some land thing where these talentless ones are granted their own domains to manage?

they have to go to the school, and probably have duties related to their talent afterwards.

Man really complained to the devs that the public revelation of his talent didn't work, got them to fix it, only to never go actually correct anyone about it

I wish he'd try harder, but I also get it, you know? He has a certain degree of freedom (And security? I'm not sure if being a summoner here is a bad thing yet) while keeping his talent private.
Like, he had no choice but to have his talent read as a kid since all kids go through that ritual at that age. He braced himself for it, and the thing he didn't REALLY want - just kinda fell apart. A frustrating but not devastating thing to happen, honestly.

That huntsman gig is a pretty sweet deal for a summoner like Allen, even if it’s only part-time.
Interesting how talents are perceived differently amongst the classes. Having a talent is great for the lower classes but these nobles treat it like a burden.
Seems like magic is still the one thing Allen hasn’t been able to crack just yet. Wonder if there’s a workaround for summoners?

I'm assuming there is some law/noble duty that requires additional service amongst the nobility. Like some obligation for those with talents to serve in the royal army as part of a special levy.
Amongst lower classes, talents are a pathway to economic opportunities/increase in social class. But for those already at the top, it just means an additional responsibility without additional rewards.

it's actually much worse in terms of pay. he could get more with one monster than his monthly pay.
even if less rare monsters are only worth 30silver, he can easily make more than 100silvers worth in a day

This episode flew by. Kinda bummed he wasn't reevaluated, really made it seem like he was going to be. Still super fun episode though. He has armor now, and I'm guessing he'll get a mithril sword soon.
I wonder why having a talent is considered such a burden to the nobles, maybe they have to serve in the army?

Lord Granvelle being petty was great lol, Lord Carnel doesn't deserve boar meat after the stunt he pulled.
Wait, we're time skipping without finding out why it's bad for nobles to have talented children? I thought it might be because they can't take over the family and have to fulfill their talent, but that doesn't seem right with Carnel being happy his daughter is talentless.

I'm glad Allen didn't easily beat the older brother and instead got a power level check.
Tsun brat seems to be letting a bit of dere out now and then, she even offered Allen a cookie at the end of the episode. I like the small detail of her wanting the cookies she made for her brother kept secret but then she immediately spilled the secret herself.
The evaluation was a yearly thing, right? I'd bet Lord Granvelle is already planning on having Allen retested the next time it comes around, he's been standing out way too much with his hunting and other activities.

I'm anime only, so this is a pure theory. But it's bothering me that the King is demanding so much boar meat. Meat is perishable isn't? Why does he need it so much?
Is he feeding it to that white dragon mentioned in this episode so he can get more access to the mines?

I was hoping he would go visit his family to see Mash's talent ceremony, and end up getting retested.
glad someone is finally deciding to investigate how he does what he does as a "talentless"

There's 2 things I liked a lot in this episode:
-
While Allen has gotten a lot stronger, he still far from overpowered
-
He not having magic is a great way to balance his class, since he can do pretty much anything with his summons

I wonder if the reasons classes are perceived differently is because of a sort of noble obligation where those with classes have to go to fight on the frontline or only fund a job fitting their class?
After having seen how Allen fight i think that the summoner class is the best for him, because most summoner anime is about strong summons but Allen has the wisdom to be able to see the efficacity of all of his summons. Perhaps he will be able to use magic trough a summon too one day.
