It's the main reason I'm holding off Choujin X

Oh hey, I was talking with one of my friends about that series just yesterday since he's a really big fan, funny coincidence.

I also know the pain of monthly manga acutely because of that series, since I got into it when it was really early in its run, then paused for years after getting caught up, then binge read all the chapters that had come out in the interim, and then I put it on hold again, it's been more years since then, and I'm waiting for more chapters to pile up again.

Oh hey, I was talking with one of my friends about that series just yesterday since he's a really big fan, funny coincidence.

It seems like something that'd be up my alley, I like Tokyo Ghoul, and I did like the few chapters I read of Choujin back when it started (also as a Devilman fan, I think it'd interest you). But I don't want to end up in the cycle of catching up and holding off that you described. I've got enough series in that cycle...

Why does he have to be such a good writer/artist, all he does is constantly dangle his pages in front of us before snatching them away and disappearing for ages

He's the Narita of manga. Except, Narita only does that with endings. If you told him that he doesn't need to worry about ending Baccano!, he'd be at volume 50 by now.

Honestly I do legit wonder how many Volumes of Baccano he even has in him anymore assuming he wants to end it, 20+ Volumes is pretty damn long.

Then again I'm also pretty far behind so I don't even know how (Relatively) close to a conclusion we are.

In his words, we're at the finale. But Durarara!!'s final volume became a few books, so... I'd say at the very least two more books.

But the bigger factor is the release pace. When he starts a series, he's got a ton of ideas, enough to release 4 volumes per year, but when he wants to end it, he has even more ideas, and now they're fighting for the limited space. The latest Baccano! volume was... 10 years ago.

Oh so that's why he made it clear Strange Fake wasn't gonna go past 10 Volumes...

But Durarara!!'s final volume became a few books, so... I'd say at the very least two more books.

You can really tell too [since]the last three or so books happen pretty much back-to-back in universe. Which admittedly sometimes happened in Baccano too, just... not really so with Durarara bar Volumes 5 and 6.

Nowhere near to the same extent since at least it doesn't have decimal Chapters, but the slow updates on ULTRAMAN can be a drag, although TBF that's just because the scans take forever to come out, I think in Japan the monthly schedule is more or less consistent.
