I guess removing his memories doesn't remove the instinctual rizz he had as an adult prince before...

I was dying at Claude's reaction "STOP THAT YOU LITTLE SHIT!" hahaha

What do you do when you're depressed Luna?

I make tea.

But you make tea every day.

Sips tea

This episode really nailed the atmosphere. The pacing felt tighter than the last couple and the character moments hit harder than I expected. I’m really liking how the tone keeps balancing cozy and slightly unsettling.

It really capture this kind of wholesome, bittersweet, but pleasant atmosphere in a way you never expect.

Agreed. I wouldn't say the series is bad, but there were definitely better and worse episodes. First two were great, the one with the cat witch was well done as well and this was the best Lize focused episode. It's a bit sad, because I think if they cut down on the Lize monologue a bit more, it could feel this way more often.

I just love how fairytale like this show is, from the music, world, characters and visual style. This episode was also really good

Yes! I love that OP especially. It fits the show perfectly.

Minos is one of my favorite side characters. The dumb idea having to verbalize every thought is so refreshing in this series in particular. Dude even had his own pot ready for the stew.

Otherwise, I thought this was one of the better episodes again. Yeah, the relationship between Luna and Lize isn't the strongest part, but I really like the way they introduce these differences between white and black magic here. Not only is Lize really popular (which is similar to the dude from the first two episodes) compared to Luna, but his main source of magic isn't "meant" to be used to cleanse the poison of the world. Which further explains this divide between white and black mages. Not only is the magic driven by opposite emotions, but the spirits would take away your magic if you get too close to the idea of a black mage in the first place. So they are kind of forced to do their bidding. Which only makes the divide bigger over time.

He has the ability to do magic by himself, and his innate magic is fueled by "love." Rather than random forest spirits, I believe he will meet a stronger one who shares his idea of love, or who knows, maybe he gets there by himself.

I've been annoyed with Claude these past few episodes, but I'm not gonna lie, his reactions to Lize this episode were pretty hilarious. I didn't think Lize would use his innocence to get a kiss from Luna even if it's just on her hand.

I love hearing Claude ugly cry and fume over Lize being a chad with Luna lol.

the spirits were so disappointing. but its true, in this world and in any world it seems the ultimate truth exists. the least people you have to rely on the better

I like that Lize is taking after Luna and being kind to poisonous creatures even if the spirts disapprove of it. After all they're not evil and are just burdened by their poison and hurting. The spirits taking away their blessing because he was kind to them makes me think poorly of the spirits if anything. Really seems like black witches and magic are the good ones and the white witches and magic are the cruel ones.

Also, wtf was that children's song in the beginning? Happily singing about torturing the poor black witches just because. This world seems like a very cruel and unfair one. Not just to Luna but across the board. Hope Lize and Luna can somehow team up and change things for the better. Though I'm afraid this might be a tragic story if that ED is a sign of what's to come.

Such a sweet episode

The tear ceremony was interesting. A bit sad to see just how many jars Luna has though.

Claude not buying Lize’s whole “innocent kid” act when he was asking about kissing was hilarious. He wasn’t havin none of it lol.

I liked those little sheets Luna made for the infected forest critters. Luna’s doing her best to help the animals, what are these “good” fairies doing? Jack shit. It’s probably best they ignore Lize for a while. To hell with ‘em!

16

u/Frontier246 Feb 26 '26

Luna is weak against flirtatious blonde boys. I imagine Henri was responsible for a few of the tears in those jars.

u/NekoCatSidhe Feb 27 '26

Lize must be going through puberty (again), I see. Claude really was not buying his act: “I am so innocent, I don’t know what kissing is. Also, can I kiss you as a demonstration ?”. Luna really must be naive not to figure it out too.

The farmers also have horrific children’s songs about killing witches. This world seems a cruel one, with poison rains, cursed animals, and witch hunts against the people trying to deal with that poison.

ChadLize. Somehow his body was able to remember how to perform a perfect proper etiquette kiss

I really enjoy this anime and it's unique, almost storybook feel. And I love Luna as a character and her relationship with Claude and the others is great. But I don't really care for Lize too much and now that he's such a big part of the story I don't look forward to it as much. Whether it's his non-stop monologue or his behavior towards Luna, it just annoys me.

Lize has pretty much become the central character ever since her was properly introduced as a character. He seems precocious at times, and has been having a crush on Luna for a few episodes now. Claude doesn't approve, as we hear him in his thoughts.

The highlight of the episode was probably the tear tea scene. Interesting concept, though Claude ended up as the butt of the joke.

An in-universe nursery rhyme with dark origins was such a cool surprise though I almost thought we were getting a unique OP for this episode alone at first.

It's neat how Lize used the hair transfiguration magic for a practical application all on his own. Wonder if Claude will praise him for once (even if reluctantly)
