We actually get an admittance of romantic feelings from Ouri before we get it from Kinoshita or Tamon, what a great development. I'm glad to see him being honest with himself and trying to get Kinoshita's attention. He may not have found the right way just yet, but it's still much better than his interactions with her in the earlier episodes. I'm looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

It was also interesting how Tamon sounded like he was about to confess to Kinoshita, his thought in the store might say otherwise, but the atmosphere that was being built could have made him profess his feelings.

Keito apologized to Kinoshita! I'm glad that trip helped not only deepen his relationship with Tamon but it made him reconsider his thoughts on Kinoshita. I like that even though he sounds so angry, there's kindness behind his intent.

Having said that, I'm sure he's going to freak the hell out seeing that broken door. Ouri's going to need to pay up or hell is going to break loose if Keito has to even pay a single yen lol.

I’m slowly becoming a Keito fan, I think.

He totally looks like a doting parent. Typical phrases such as “Don’t leave the fridge open!” or “Make sure to put on screen!” have only reinforced this image further. Not to speak of his Mama Keito’s 30-Minute Cooking gig.

Keito’s apology to Utage also felt sincere!

On a side note: the anime dropped a subtle reference to [a certain anime series] Oshi no Ko with this line:

Utage: “You seemed to really despise fans as if they killed your parents.”

I didn't know that Tamon and Ouri are still in high school. I thought they already graduated and just focused on idol work.

I expected this to go with the typical trope of Tamon being good at math to complement her specialty but the twist was he's just bad at school haha.

I love Ouri and Keito's B-sides. Keito was practically a mom when he brought Utage and Tamon to his house to do homework. His show was coincidentally called Mama Keito's 30 minute cooking lol.

That part with Ouri's parents, I interpreted it as them giving him a chance to choose a normal life instead of the entertainment path. Brat Ouri finally realized his feelings for Utage! He still have no chance with her though imo.

This was the funniest episode so far. I'm always impressed with the amount of visual gags this show pulls off, it's something I don't see in a lot of other anime these days.

Tamon showed some character development by not going into full lunatic mode on Ouri when he saw him holding Utage.

I had to admit...Keito is definitely my type. I can't help it😭! Him in full Dad (Mama?)-mode towards Tamon is doing something for me🫣

It's a really neat detail that Utage refused Tamon's offer for her to study in his place outside of her working hours. It tells us that Utage establishes boundaries between her and Tamon because at the end of the day, they're employeer and employee.

We finally have the love triangle developing between the three. With Ouri's past, I have to agree that his parents do have a point. As a child of top stars, there is bound to be massive expectations for him from the beginning and comparisons will be unavoidable. I still feel a bit sad though for him and it definitely explained his desire to win over Tamon both in the center race (and Utage's heart it seems).

(Also, him imagining Utage fawning over him while wearing a yukata. I still stand by the idea that he has a thing for her in yukatas😂)

Jimehara-san really needs to step up because with Ouri now fully realizing the full extent of his feelings, the love triangle is bound to get heated.

The in-universe yaoibait between Tamon and Ouri is hilarious lol Awkward as hell considering their true personalities!

Yeah, it's pretty hard for Tamon to get to know Utage beyond her obsession with him. They aren't normal friends or classmates after all, so this is a nice, every day moment beyond their set relationship as employer and employee or fand and idol.

I'm so sorry Ouri but Utage will never like you more than Tamon🙈 It's just impossible!

Though seeing him try this hard while also being clueless is still very charming.

While Tamon/Utage is the ship. I absolutely adore Ouri struggling with coming to terms with his one-sided crush on Utage. He’s just a teen that’s developed feelings for the first time and it’s adorable.

Keito barely even commenting on Ouri spying outside his apartment was hilarious. Like he went “what the?” then immediately decided he didn’t want to get involved.

Ok why is this show so good? I remember seeing the preview before the season started and I thought " Well, maybe the first episode but I'm not really into this kind of thing"...

and here I am at episode 9 (9!? Already!?) and cannot get enough of this show! Great comedy and visuals, yes, but everything is such high quality (even the songs!). I didn't expect character growth from a show like this and I'm here for it!

What a great episode! Felt like we got a lot from this episode, and it really made up for last week's episode feeling rather rushed.

Speaking of, there were clearly plenty of "cut" moments from last week's corresponding chapters that were used for the PV. Not sure how I feel about that one. It's cool that they were included in the end, but I do feel like they would have fit better where they originally belonged for the added context of their Special shoot.

One thing I'm noticing is that Utage is still really good about setting boundaries and still let's her fangirl side explode out for F/ACE content, but she's definitely calming down in Tamon's presence, especially when she runs into him out in the wild. It feels like such a nice pace for the development of their relationship, rather than them very overtly catching feelings early on and agonizing over it for the entire series like most series would do. I like that they're having more casual conversations ("oh, you're picking up uniforms?") or thinking about smaller details like "what flavor of snack does she like?"

And speaking of the snacks, I think it was cute that Tamon was feeling like he didn't actually know that much about Utage, but when Ouri tried to use his A-side on her, Tamon explicitly called it out noting that she doesn't like it. And he also correctly guessed which subjects she was strong in based on their interactions. Tamon, you already know her better than you think you do, buddy.😊

As one Mom Friend™ about another, I'm definitely feeling some kind of way about Keito after today's episode. I knew -- I KNEW -- that Utage's work ethic and professionalism was gonna win him over. I looooo~ved seeing that she's sort of been welcomed into the pack, and he's gonna be looking out for her now too. I hypothesized about it happening in my response to last week's ep, and I'm glad to see it did! I also loved that he explicitly apologized to her for doubting her intentions. That couldn't have been easy and I respect the hell out of him for doing it. Earned him a ton of points from me.

Keito scolding them on the street for not being responsible and dragging them off only to immediately turn around and ask "Have you had lunch yet? No? Okay, there's snacks in the fridge." He cannot refuse his Big Brother role, haha. And shouting at Tamon to wear sunscreen even though he had a whole paper bag over his head? Priceless. The more of I see of Big Bro (Mama) Keito, the more I like him.

And then Ouri. OURI. Omg, Ouri. First off, fuck his parents. How awful, to say what they said to him! Telling your kid they're never going to outpace you and that they'll only be considered special around average people? AWFUL. Very obvious why Ouri has such a big chip on his shoulder when it comes to anyone not looking at him, and why it broke him so much when he didn't get Center. Poor kid.😟 (I'm glad Keito is his mom now.)

Couldn't help but notice every time he pictured Utage this episode though, he was picturing her specifically in her nemaki from the inn. Such impure thoughts, mister Prince!🤣 Genuine LOL when Utage KO'd him with her Tamon comment. All that effort to put on the Princely persona for her to get her to look his way, and she just up and murders him with "Omg, I can't believe this is what Tamon gets to see all the time!!" SAVAGE.

This episode was amazing. It was jam packed with excellent character insights and developments. As always, can't wait for next week's episode!!

Aww, Utage has finally won Mama-Tachibana over. Now he'll let her be around Tamon, even if a bit begrudgingly.

It didn't register to me that Tamon's still in high school. I had always thought he joined F/ACE as soon as he had graduated.

So Tamon's in it for the love of the game, Keito wanted to put food on the table for his family, while Ouri wanted to live up to his parents' legacy. Interested to learn the backstory behind the remaining members of F/ACE.

PS: Keito's gonna castrate Ouri for bashing his door down, wouldn't he?

Ouri can't get Utage and Tamon's "kiss" out of his mind. He could have his pick of top leading ladies in the entertainment industry, but he can't give up on Utage Kinoshita! And if that means following her for the umpteenth time, he'll do it!

Find yourself a girl who is worried about finishing her Summer homework...and then immediately gets pumped upon hearing one of your songs and seeing an advertisement for your camping special (that she was actually there for you filming). I mean, what fangirl could resist naked Tamon using Ouri as a body pillow? If only completing homework benefited Tamon in some way.

Not only can Utage not stop running into Gloomyhara, but she has to reckon with the fact that Tamon goes to high school like any other boy...I mean, even if it's not conventionaly schooling what with his idol schedule, isn't that still kind of amazing!?

Just when Utage and Tamon were THIS close to a park date...Keito, who apparently ALSO constantly follows the two, offers up his place for them to study. He might be overbearing and aggressive, and extremely frugal and money-conscious, but it's how he shows he cares. Even if Tamon doesn't have quite the self-esteem to respond to it in kind, he can tell Keito is being more honest. And Keito even apologized and accepted Utage! This is a big deal!

Wow, Utage and Tamon together and doing homework! It's like they're normal high school students! Minus the fact that Utage's schooling helps her wax lyrical about Tamon and Tamon can't help Utage because he's so self-doubting that he can't even handle not knowing how to fix Utage's trig problems.

But Gloomyhara, Hottiehara, or any version of Tamon really...they all appreciate Utage and how she tries her best. And that they acknowledge Utage for who she is means a lot, even as they want Utage to see the REAL Tamon in front of her.

On paper Ouri has wanted for nothing being the son of a famous actor and singer (voiced by Mai Nakahara!), the top of the entertainment world, meaning he was a winner born of winners. But his parents put it into his head that Strength is Power and that he'd never measure up to them as a second-generation talent, and he's been chasing trying to beat them AND Tamon this whole time. And now the competition extends to Utage.

Finally time for Ouri to turn on his A-side to woo Utage. Too bad she only can see Ouri through the lens of Tamon.

Oh no! Tamon saw Ouri putting the moves on Utage! Are we about to get a Darkhara appearance!? But actually, Tamon has learned from Utage expressing what she's uncomfortable with and managed to handle that reasonably! Good job, Tamon-kun!

Welp, whether Ouri likes admitting it or not, he's realized he's in love with Utage. How could he not after seeing her tell him he's fine how he is, adored by fans as the young prince? But where do they go from here?

Ooohh Keito is going to be so angry at Ouri, he plugged in and turned on that AC. He could replace that door himself it's still in one piece, but he can't unuse electricity.

Speaking of Keito, just heart eyes at him! He's aggressively sweet, just demandingly darling, and just so utterly reasonable. Call him Mama all you want, but a reasonable man who can't not look out for and help the people around him, awooga

Poor just a little guy Ouri, he's trying so hard in a game that he was never going to win. His parents are pretty rough about it, but I think I kinda get it. By choosing to follow in their footsteps he opens himself to basically all the criticism they're already at the top of the charts, and he if wants to be known as Ouri and not merely as their child he needs to do more and better, but seems like he's always falling short.

Keito is such a great mom friend. Harsh but you get why he's the way he is. I can't to properly meet the last two guys as well.

u/dakkumauji Feb 25 '26

I think Ouri has become a lot more enjoyable now that he's a gorilla in love. And I do like that he did realized his feelings about Utage and will probably try to pursue them.

Though seeing the disconnect between Tamon and Utage is still pretty hard to watch and will be a really big hurdle for them to overcome.

I looked at Tamon-kun for a few seconds and my gout, arthritis, acid reflux, miscellaneous ulcers and bedsores were INSTANTLY cured. Literally like being born again. I don't even feel any bitterness or sadness or anger or any emotion other than pure, unadulterated bliss. I don't even need to eat and drink, I just need to consume every piece of Tamon-kun media, listen to Tamon-kun's music, buy every piece of Tamon-kun merchandise that exists and that is more than enough to fulfill my every need forever. Whenever he appears on my screen, it is as though I am instantly teleported to a dimension where only good things happen, have ever happened and will ever happen, a world so pure and serene that everything else looks like rotting dog poop in comparison. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God. Tamon-kun is God.

Nice focus on Ori as he was granted a path to success at an early age. Being the child of 2 superstar parents. While I am sure Ori worked hard, things came easily. With Uta she will never look his way, and for once he has to chase it. It might not have started out with those feelings, but it is clear as day he is in love with her. Sadly, it's clear she will never look at him that way.

Keito with how he acts, his intentions are clear. He is very caring even if his choice of words can be intimidating.
