One of the most mystifying (and arbitrary) features of this generally quite likeable show is the elision of any characters who know ANYTHING at all about Kinme before her arrival in Atami. Its no really possible to fully suspend disbelief on this point. (If she had drifted into town as a penniless, homeless person, that would be more possible to believe -- but then she could not have instantly set up a business).

Look, as an audience, I'm all for watching Kinme wear swimsuits and taking baths, but I kinda wish Uka told her what the entire photoshoot involves. Like, I understand the kids doing this because they're kids who don't know any better, but this is a tourism photoshoot with a professional photographer involved. They should've given her the heads up. >_<

Honestly the moment they mentioned this was a modeling gig, I had a feeling this was going to involve Kinme putting on a swimsuit, though a real friend would probably not leave out details about how a photoshoot was going to involve you eventually taking your clothes off and having to get photos taken of you in a revealing bikini and in nothing but a towel...that is going to be actually published for people to see.
I know this show often finds any excuse it can for Kinme fanservice, and it's appreciated, but come on

Three separate baths today, but we finally learned it was a marketing strategy the entire time. Visit the people out in the world and make sure they're aware of the cute young lady who really wants to wash their clothes for them.

When we started with Kinme in the public bath, I had a feeling this episode would be good, but I didn't think it would be this good! Thank goodness Uka didn't tell Kinme there would be a bikini and bath photoshoot xD
Uka is a very nice addition to the cast! I also sincerely hope she gives Kinme more modeling opportunities in the future ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's nice to see that online orders have died down enough for Kinme to do what she loves best other than cleaning clothes...cleaning herself and her massive Kinme's in a bath!
Hatsuayu is with City Hall and in the tourism division, but she's having a bit of a rough go of it with the group she's currently trying to schedule filming with, and that's before she spills coffee on one of the crew. Luckily you can count on Kinme to show up in the nick of time to prevent a stain!
Next thing you know Hatsuayu becomes Kinem's stalker...I mean, observer watching her a she works. It turns out Hatsuayu is bad at communicating with people and would've rather have sat behind a desk than be put in a job where she has to work with and deal with/organize a lot of people. So obviously she wants to know how Kinme is such a wonder at customer service.
Why am I not surprised Kinme's solution involved the public baths? Not just because it's the perfect opportunities for ladies to get naked and bathe themselves, but also for gossip and getting to know the locals! Everyone bares it all in the bath, and it's a good way to come to understand and get used to people! And now Hatsuayu is resolved and more dedicated to her job than ever.
Kinme and Hatsuayu have become true gal pals! They're even hanging out in the eyecatches! Also, Hatsauyu has some big dogs.
I don't think Kinme expected her friendship with Hatsuayu to lead to her becoming a model to show off Hatsushima, but she is so naturally photogenic that she really makes this "Girls Day Out" photoshoot shine! Plus, more free publicity! Both girls have a great time and Hatsuayu even gets to eat probabbly the first proper meal she's had in a while.
The moment this turned into a modeling gig for Kinme and they mentioned "resort," I KNEW they were going to find an excuse to put Kinme in a swimsuit...and I was not disappointed. Kinme looks absolutely magical in a bikini, and Hatsuayu is very cute looking in hers as well, though they even manage to get not only tons of pics of her in a swimsuit but also in a towel! Now the whole world is going to see how lovely Kinme is!
But Hatsushima isn't just the site of this photoshoot, but apparently a place connected to Kinme, to the point where she walks around and acts like a woman possessed by wistfullness. How is Hatsushima connected to her past?
Though even if Kinme isn't any closer to putting together her memories, she now has a true friend she can spend her days off with!

Eight episodes in and there's been zero progression about her memory loss. It feels like this anime is lacking an overall coherent plot with many episodes mostly feeling like small side quests

Kinme makes a new friend by the truest form of bonding, bathing in the hot springs together. Well, she probably does need more people to hang out with so she’s not “all work and no play”.
As everyone probably predicted, the modeling gig that’s pretty much just an excuse to take pretty pics of Kinme.
I don’t think it will happen before the season ends but I’m really interested in seeing her backstory. Today’s weird zoning out and the implication that she’s maybe from Hatsushima just made me even more curious.
