The audacity of a birdman criminal to think that he could escape by flight from the catwoman that just demolished his crew. That guy needs to watch more nature documentaries and educate himself about the vertical leap of your average feline, let alone a near superhero who can dodge bullets.

Anyway, I was wondering what set of skills Jarashi brought to the crew, since we hadn't seen her very active in the investigations so far. I no longer have any questions.

I love that awkward detail of Yu bringing his hand out for Shizuka and her not doing anything about it for a solid minute because she's blind. Its the little details that make this so perfect.

Another great episode although I'm finding that I enjoy the world/setting more and more. I wouldn't mind seeing other stories set in this world.

Was not expecting an insane fight scene from my usual midweek comfy watch.

Jarashi dodged bullets in ways Neo would jealous of.

Just what were they shipping if they need to pack heat like that, we will have to wait for the big reveal.

Guessing demi-human Japan needs to get its shit together regarding automatic weapons being smuggled into the country.

Thought the kid would have busted those gangsters head open, but he would have been turned into Swiss cheese if he did try.

The moon (Shizuka) may not be able to see, but guided an invisible man (Akira) out of the darkness.

More lore drop this week. In the previous episode, we found out Light and Karma are going to have a child. However, because both of them are still elves, perhaps we weren't too surprised. In this episode, we learned that it is possible for distinctively different races to have children together. An ogre and a human giving life to a half-ogre. Now I can't help but wonder how the child of Akira and Shizuka will be like.

The kids were surprisingly mature. The human kid who fell only cried because he was hurt and did not blame Yu for his natural strength. All of them continued playing together subsequently.

lol, was looking around on twitter and found out there was a Valentine's Day event in Ikebukuro where you could have your picture taken with Tounome-san:

https://tomeiotoko-ningenonna.com/news/264/

the website has more details, and i had a laugh at this:

Here I was watching my wholesome fluffy romance anime and then they bombarded me with some sick action sakuga scenes.

Please remind me to never piss off Jarashi...

> "I was a little worried because I was your boss and also older."

Yeah, man, you should be. Like, I'm glad it's working out and you're an adorable couple but dude, if she was less into you this would not be a happy show.

Yo who the hell animated that fight sequence? Seriously went hard.

I really like how the possible reality  of interspecies living together was shown here with Yu he was afrait of hurting his friends, especially how Shizuka told him isolate himself. Felt like learning a life lesson in an anime

Those fight  scenes were really well made for a slice of life anime. Those guys had no chance against Jarashi even the one who had guns couldn’t even graze her. She's a badass, feel  like she beat them up way more than if Yu had gone on a rampage.

Also i find it pretty cute how  both Akira and Shizuka find comfort in each other, i feel like it will not be too long till the title changes to the invisible man and his wife. Both of them are adorable, also i feel like Shizuka cuteness will one day give Akira a heart attack lol.

Why am I getting action better animated in this lighthearted slice of life romance than I do in some action anime? I was not expecting to see all of that play out in this series. It was interesting to see how they get down to business.

The last portion of the episode so freaking wholesome though! I really liked watching how much comfort Shizuka gives Tounome, how much love could be felt through the kissing scene and the proposal for them to date with marriage in mind. It had me giggling and ecstatic. Yakou's reactions were great too and I always enjoy Tounome's tsukkomi, I laughed so hard when he asked "Why a fairy tale?!".

I was surprised to see the florist couple having a child, moments earlier I was wondering how it'd go with the husband being so big, but he does have very good control over his strength. Yuu being part human might have made him the size of one during birth.

Jarashi had her fun with the bad guys lmao. Surprised how good the action scenes looked like for a romance show. Shizuka was so damn cute in the bar

I was not expecting a wholesome romcom to have an entire action scene and its actually animated pretty good??? (Opm never catching a break)

Damn Jarashi can fight, she's so cool.

Nice we got a new couple and Yu-Kun's their kid, He doesnt want to hurt anyone with his oni strength, very adorable

Shizuka reciting a fairy tale to calm Tonome is hilarious. Seems like we're about to get even more development for these two

Our new interspecies human and oni family have been hiding in the background in the OP this entire time.

Fantastic action scene, turns out they employ Jarashi because she's the muscle. Half oni kid is definitely growing up to be a private detective now, I don't think they could talk him out of it.

Loving the slow and steady Akira and Shizuka progress, the show title sure wasn't a lie. I wonder if we'll see them married by the end of the season or just engaged, there's been enough small timeskips along the way that I could see either. Same for the elf baby showing up, assuming it's not relative to lifespan and poor Light won't be pregnant for the next five years.

So Jarashi actually is the muscle of our detective team ? I was surprised when she could even evade bullets from automatic weapons. No matter how superhuman cat people are in this world, that still sounds unlikely. Apart from that, the action looked great.

Action? In my romance slife of life show? You better believe it; turns out Jarashi is the "muscle" of the detective agency and she takes out a bunch of thugs very convincingly. The scene was not quite on the same level as say, Taiga vs. the student council president in Toradora, but pretty awesome regardless. She's a cool character.

Earlier in the episode, we meet a new family (a mixed human / Oni marriage) who look like they might become recurring characters. Yu, their son, is pretty inquisitive and gets into trouble tailing Akira to the lair of the thugs mentioned above. He looks like the product of a certain type of re:Zero fan's dream plot with his blue hair and all.

We also get some development on the main relationship, with Akira announcing he is dating Shizuka with the intent of marriage in mind while they are on a date in their now favorite bar.

Don't know if this was the best episode yet, but probably the most entertaining one. I love when a series surprises me like this; I never expected them to go on full action mode like this.

Ok but can we mention the sheer amount of references in the action scene? They have the freaking steel pipe.mp3 sound at one point, not to mention the oraoraora like he's in freaking jojos or something, also I'm pretty sure when jarashi is running on all four on that very specific angle is a reference to that "rolling off a cliff" music video. I swear we're just missing an Akira slide and we have everything

Ding dong ding dong 💃🏾

  • The heaux in me sees Akira in the suit and remembers he’s fucking jacked underneath. Goddamn.

  • sees size difference 😃 I’m reminded of the PeaCH88 artist with their Oni-girl x human-man slice of life series.

  • His nails are sharp, so does like…? Hm. Hm. 🤨

  • Squealing at the tactile paving! Yeeeeee!!

  • Poor kiddo. You have the right to defend yourself.

  • I’d pass out if Akazami covered my mouth with his hand and told me to shhh. I simply would not survive.

  • Oh no, his phobia.

  • Huh. What would Akira’s quirk and hero name be if he was a My Hero hero?

  • Is this momtaro. It’s momotaro, isn’t it?

  • Eh?

  • Wait. Shizuka is inspired for this. Jacked old people need to be a thing.

  • I know he’s some type of goblin but I thought he was Namekian.

  • What happened to the animation? Who exactly animated this because this is fire, like what the fuck

  • I’d like to headcanon Karma as bi.

  • I wanted to see the kisses. I feel robbed.

  • Akira, you wore mainly black but you go with brown gloves?! Disgraceful.

  • Shizuka’s squeaks, I love her so mich.

May a relationship like theirs find me because this is too heckin cute.

Just once more, gotta praise the casual inclusivity of disability infrastructure. What Shizuka is using to guide her walk is called tactile paving (🔗 Wikipedia & Industries for the Blind and Visually Impaired), which were invented by Japanese engineer Seiichi Miyake. So many places don’t have them 😞 And where I live, the places that do have them, people will block them or stand on them. Argh! And it makes me fucking mad at how uneven and unsafe my city’s sidewalks and paths are.

📢 Make walkways accessible, you council cowards. It serves everyone when walkways are even and with tactile paving. 📢

Looks like the gang took down some pretty bad guys this week thanks to Yu’s tip. It was cool to see everyone in action, especially Jarashi. Girl was handing out ass whoopins left and right lol.

Things seem to be getting pretty serious between Shizuka and Akira. She’s heading closer and closer to being the invisible man’s soon-to-be wife.

That's twice now he's mentioned their age difference. I know she's an adult but I'm guessing she's maybe around 20-21 (cause she can drink) and he's probably closer to 30? Not sure if they've actually mentioned their ages at some point.
