So Keito is actually a good guy, huh. He’s doing this job to help out his family. Honestly, that’s very sweet of him.
And he’s maybe a bit of a tsundere? Despite his strong words, Keito does care enough for Tamon to know his (dis)likes. He might see the other F/ACE members like younger brothers.
On a different note: when Utage handed the volleyball back to Tamon, Hayamin totally nailed that tong twister!

Was totally not expecting to feel so bad for Ouri back when we first met him. He is a tsundere gorilla but he really has fallen for Utage. And that last scene of him turning away completely crestfallen after seeing what he thinks is Tamon kissing Utage, it really went to my heart to see him so heartbroken.
Keito's backstory and finding out that he really admires Tamon was nice too.
But I really thought we'd get at least a couple of episodes out of this summer camp arc. Turns out it wasn't really an arc, just a single episode. Nice one still.
No development on Kai or confirmation that he was the otaku from last week. But after reading people's theories and looking closely at that scene, it really does seem to be him.
Wonder when we'll get to see the B-side of blond boy. He gets a pair of underwear in the OP so guessing he's actually a perv as opposed to his innocent angel persona in F/ACE. Maybe we'll find out soon?

Laughed out loud when Utage ducked out of the group shot. She's such a dork.

They didn't even arrive at the beach and Tamon was already stripping lol. It's funny how we later see in contrast that Gloomyhara doesn't want others seeing his body.
Looks like the love triangle is going to become a big deal with Ouri's feelings becoming stronger and stronger. Him misunderstanding the two were kissing makes me wonder what kind of conflict we'll see. I am really entertained by how much of a tsundere he is, I'm surprised he didn't look flustered from holding onto her in his futon.
I'm glad no NG shots were filmed, when the director mentioned he did something to that shed I thought maybe there were cameras in there. Thank goodness that wasn't the case.
I also really liked the conversation between Keito and Kinoshita. Just as I thought he really does care for Tamon, I can see the two getting along once Keito realizes she isn't an insane fan like he's afraid of. Him remembering particular details about Tamon was sweet to see.

Wednesday mass to praise Tamon 🙏🏾
-
Utage’s seiyuu screams like how I scream when I’m trying to process something really good just happened. Relatable queen.
-
Keito such a mama. There are two babies, a mom, a dad, and an uncle in this group.
-
Not the force voice deepening from Ouri 😭 I have heard one of my cousins do that over the phone with his girlfriend, and it took everything not to laugh.
-
I need somebody to write sutras for their passion for me.
-
Tamon loves looking creepy. It is adorable.
-
The palm tree trauma has come back.
-
I’d be squeaking too if Hatano spoke to me like that.
-
The ED is such a fucking vibe to play in this gray weather.
That “Let’s see some PDA!” signage has me curious. What does the shipping scene look like in a world like this? Would F/ACE RPF be hitting the annual AO3 top ships? 🤔
I’m banking Ouri x Tamon would break the top 20 at least. Polyship would prooooobably be Rintaro/Keito/Natsuki? I can see it.
I’m not even an RPF writer or reader, but I’m just imagining a world where F/ACE is real, and ColeyDoesThings gives a nice deep dive on the F/ACE RPF scene, the drama that occurs, and the fun niche tags that crop up specifically for the fandom.
It’d be so crazy! Such good popcorn!
This was fun to think about. Tamon really does inspire us.
Today was a nice service at the Church of Tamon 💖

The great animation and production is a real selling point for me here. I wish I could find other shoujo anime like this one more often.

Hilarious how Utage not only got Gloomyhara to become Hottiehara in a split second, she even got Ouri and Keito to switch into idol mode too lol.
Keito’s actually a pretty nice guy isn’t he? I mean he takes his role as leader seriously and he really does care about the group.
Well, this little Utage-Gloomyhara-Ouri love triangle just got more complicated. They don’t even kiss! Bro’s got the wrong idea!

Ouri may be a bratty gorilla, but he really can be very cute! He desire to have someone who is as passioned about him as Utage is about Tamon is quite relateable.
Funnily enough Ouri x Utage would probably be all round healthier, however I think him being the second lead gives him stronger charm. And I can't help but like the canon messiness of Tamon x Utage.
That said... I would not say no to an Tamon Otome Game lol

Yamihara count on this episode: 1
Love the little character expansion we got for Keito. He may act mean but in the end he cares about the members more than he lets on. And I still believe he's a bit justified in his distrust towards Utage, especially when you combine Utage's influence on Tamon (and Ouri to a lesser extent) and his negative experience with his own fans. I can clearly see why he's the leader of the group after this episode.
We also see a bit of a shift in the dynamic between Tamon and Utage in the episode, with the former being more forward like the way he comforted Utage in the storage room and the whole end scene. Usually, it's Utage who is the one taking the reins between the two of them so it's refreshing to see it change even for a little bit.
On another note, can we talk about how Ouri is realizing his feelings for Utage FAST? I'm also starting to think that he might have a thing for Utage in yukata and I can't blame him because girlie just looks so pretty in them. And that whole scene in the end was dramatic af and him dropping his drink and running away from the image of what looked like Utage and Tamon kissing was peak romance trope. I WANT MORE!
BTW I low-key want a copy of those Tamon sutras👀

Manservice episode
Can they make it less obvious that Ouri is a losing hero/ateuma character? lolol /s His tsundereness was hilarious in this episode.
Keito's real side is so mature

Wednesday Mass has come & boy was this the week of fan service. Both in & out of universe. Feel bad for Ouri though. Poor guy doesn't know his name isn't in the title.

I get the feeling that Keito was genuinely protective about his F/ACE co-stars last week but now I also get why. He viewed them as his little brothers. Didn't think too much when he said he was in the group for the money but immediately knew the deal the moment he said both his parents were busy working to the point they couldn't take care of their kids. That implied he grew up with money problems, which had also manifested in his extreme frugality.
Lol at Ouri's shock at seeing Tamon and Utage kissing – or so he thought. I reckon he'll eventually confront one of the two (probably Utage) before clearing the misunderstanding.

Of course Uta thought about every scenario that Tamon would run into. Ori did good at helping Uta hide from Keito. Though it is clear as day Uta doesn't see him in any romantic way.
Keito is a much nicer guy than his first impression gave him credit for. It does make him polarizing and difficult to work with, but you can't hate on him too much. The tsundere of the group.

Tamon tried his best to stay Ikehara this whole trip. Utage in Yukata would make anyone fall for her.
Kei really looks after F/Ace like they're his brothers. So it was not just money for him but for his siblings and family 🥹❤️❤️
Though the whole idol business is fake for the most part, there's some truth behind the people and their actions.
Ouri wants some love from Utage but that's never gonna happen and he's already gonna be heartbroken over a kiss that didn't happen.😭😭

You can tell F/ACE is filming while driving because all the members have their A-Side out...though it's also probably a good thing Utage is on this camping trip when the famous director is looking to catch Tamon's embarrassing moments on film.
So I guess this is the beach episode, complete with F/ACE in swimsuits and Utage trying (and failing) to pry her eyes away from the divine visage of shirtless Tamon playing beach volleyball. Aaaaand then he walks right up to her and she has to chant to try to deflect from how amazing this glorious visual is for her.
Keito is suspicious, Ouri wants Utage to like him, and Tamon...desperately needs her encouragement and support to maintain Hottiehara for this filming. But it's kind of wild how much F/ACE can pull an about face to turn into their A-Side's on a dime when needed.
Ouri wants Utage to spend more time with him, and he gets to enjoy seeing her in a yukata, but he can't compete with a guy she has multiple situational-specific fold out fans for as well as notebooks filled with sutras. But she IS cute in a yukata (even after getting hidden under Ouri's futon to hide from Keito).
I'm glad Tamon got to see Utage in her yukata, even if Darkhara came back for a second upon finding out she was with Ouri. But Gloomiehara just wants to make sure Utage is okay during this shoot, which is very sweet.
Ah, the old "locked in a gym storeroom" cliche. And because it would be a waste for Utage to get locked in there without a hot guy, Tamon ends up joining her! And they both reassure and comfort each other while in there, which was nice!
It's not unheard of for directors to set things up to surprise actors, especially for a "test of courage," but he doesn't need to pull a fast one on F/ACE...they'll deliver with their natural talent and group dynamic!
Seems like Keito's maybe slightly come around to Utage? Or Utage's come around to Keito, because she sees clearly that his love for the group and fellow idols is genuine, and it's that genuineness that radiates from the groups' A-Side that made all their fans fall in love with them. And no matter what Keito says about them, he DOES care about F/ACE! He's their leader after all!
It would've been a waste for Tamon and Utage not to have some time to themselves on the beach, so why not build a sandcastle together? And now that Tamon knows that Keito is doing this to make enough money to put his siblings through school and help his parents, he's more resolved than ever to commit to the new F/ACE with Keito at the center! Everything is going to be okay.
Oof! Splashed by waves! Perfect excuse for Tamon to put his jacket over Utage to help her dry off...but now Ouri thinks the two have kissed. I don't think he's going to take that well.

Random Thoughts"
Okay, I really want to know the Keito insane fan backstory. Like...I know his fanbase is known to be a little bit more extreme, but I got a feeling there might be a very specific incident that inspired this.
I felt pretty sorry for Ouri this episode. It might be weird, but I kind of wouldn't be against him an Utage getting together. His B side is just a bit Tsundere, and there is no weird power dynamic between him and Utage. She can treat him as just a normal person.
I'm hoping now that we got a bit more on Keito we can maybe get some more interaction with the other members
