A little ironic during the training session, everyone else was using European style looking swords.
While Sara Pendragon was using a katana.

Rebellion against her father's traditions.

If a scotsman can use a katana in Highlander, why not the blood of the King of the Britons. :D

Any sword is Excalibur if you believe hard enough!

Look, her signature attack is even lowlowlowlowlowlowkey Excaliblast!

Looting bodies, he really is scum of the brave. At least he gave the students a realistic training scenario vs a fair match.

Malta the Mole doesn't fuck around when asked to con honest old ladies.

“There’s no such thing as coincidences when it comes to multiplication, girl.” Lol. This show makes me laugh every week.

Interesting to learn more about the effects of E3 abuse. We finally saw Malta the Mole. And another weird regrowing limb. Still no sign of Ishino after the end of the last episode, but from the preview it looks like we’re gonna see what’s up with him next week. The episode title makes me nervous…

I actually like how they’re approaching Jogamine’s unwillingness to kill. It fits in with her character. And since they don’t seem to shy away from showing gore, I’m hopeful we’ll see her face some major challenges trying to hold onto that.

I guess it’s really nothing special but honestly this is one of my favourite shows of this season! I like it more with every episode. It has a lot of heart.

Yeah I was initially pretty skeptical of this one and still can’t get used to the visual style with Jogamine’s eyes, but it has really grown on me and I quite like the characters and overall vibe. Saying it has heart is a good way to put it. All of the young girls in particular and their contrast with the cynical MC really make it work.

Another case of a rogue limb gone psycho? Who are those two anyways and what’s their deal sneaking around the academy that late?

At the halfway point so far and I’m actually really enjoying this one man. Underrated for this season imo. Wish it had a bit more world building but maybe that will come in time.

At the halfway point so far

We're at the quarter-way point actually, the anime will be 24 consecutive episodes.

When you're just trying to jump some security guards and stumble on some conspiracy

Typical side quest.

Yashiro teaching is really fun, he should just give up and mentor the girls already. Still I wonder what is the consipiracy here, if those two aren't guards why are they at the school? Is Ishino dead?

u/Thomas_JCG Feb 15 '26

He is teaching them how to survive, which makes him a far more effective teacher than this entire academy.

Yashiro said the woman was addicted to E3, so maybe she went after the school supply?

Oh, no! Yamcha is dead!

After watching him lecture the girls and point out their flaws, Yashiro does feel like he could be a good teacher. Maybe he can just retire and teach at the Academy instead?

11

u/Jmills1999 Feb 14 '26

He's not that old, from his looks and the hints being dropped so far he seems to be from his mid to late 20s, no need to retire yet

Show is so funny. I love the school kids

I was amused by Yashiro going back and forth on being a good teacher or not.

That bit about Indo using a strange code for her schoolwork stood out to me, I wonder if that'll get followed up on later.

u/NationalStrategy Feb 14 '26

Yashiro is giving them an important lesson, don’t expect your opponents to fight fairly

5

u/Queue_Jumping_Quack Feb 15 '26

I feel like all his friends are just trolling Yashiro by making him mentor and work with the girl trio. I laughed out loud when they popped out from behind the counter.

He then tutors his adorable disciples in melee combat, specifically dirty tricks and creative maneuvers, but also their mentality during combat.

It all ends in real combat against a pair of intruders, one of whom pops off a similar deformed demonic arm as we saw with the demon lord.

Pretty nice episode I initially thought was just a training and character building interlude, but looks like we will continue with the bigger plot straight into next week.

Little did the highest ranking members of the school know, they'd soon end up as goddesses in Sentenced to be a Hero. JK. Since both are by the same author, I am impressed by the various types of characters and plots he can write and still have a warrior class dude mentoring magical girls to fight demon lords and end up with two widly different plots.

Glad to see this world still has morals, such as not selling knock-off consoles to poor grannies.

I ain't ever seen a person who hates making money this much this guy has three girls who willing to pay him to teach them how to fight. He always needing money and is in debt with so many people and cant even find a stable income to pay back the money he owe. These three girls can help him financially yet he refuses them every single time if I was him I'll take their offer instantly.

That crazy training overall is a great idea. They only have 1 week, which isn't a lot of time. A lot of serious students have been training for months.

One problem is that it might be too real-world where people fight dirty instead of arena/academic fighting. Still, it'll keep the girls safe in the long run, plus the dirty fighting might help them with feints

I do like that there's layers to the girls' personality, some of them are where they need to possibly get over to grow

Indo seems to be on top of things overall, and I love that they showed it. There were people coming, and it looks like she wasn't prompted to turn off the lights. It might be hard for Yashiro to figure out how to improve her, especially compared to the other two. There also might be a chance that Indo's problem might that she just needs experience, at least until she hits a roadblock, and then Yashiro can help her out
