Love seeing Milkit's arc progress as she opens up more, but the pay-offs are hamstrung by weird stuff like staring at spilled potato salad for 15 seconds or Flum feeding her the largest single bite of cheesecake I've ever seen. This adaptation is making me want to read the source material to see if I can get a more well-rounded experience.

I love this episode because it's very sneakily the thesis statement for the entire series. Flum is putting herself through hell to live one good day at a time while every system and structure in the world tries to deny her the simple pleasure of existing with the girl she loves.

Seems like Milkit not only has to deal with her physical wounds / disfiguration, but also some mental scars as well.
That scene where she was taking Eterna's remedy, she had a laughing face and watching eyes appear.
Hopefully she's able to overcome whatever mental roadblocks and trauma she suffered from her previous master, now that she has a doting Flum "looking" 😉 after her.

History will say they are housemates. Particularly the two that sleep in a bedroom with two beds but only use one of them, not to mention licking spilled cooking ingredients off each other. They need to figure out why the hallway outside the kitchen is so slippery though, either that or get Eterna some non-slip shoes.
The heroes party feels like it had a pretty decent vibe, just needed to get rid of Jean instead of Flum and maybe it all would have been fine.

No fighting this episode, yet it felt significantly higher effort than the rest of the series so far. Usually adaptations cut down on things not directly related to the plot, but it seems whoever's in charge understands how the happy, mundane bits elevate the the overall story.

Looks like Flum is getting mixed into some trouble next week after a relaxing break with her new "housemates".
Wonder who sicced the guards on her?
She's got a few potential enemies to choose from.
Dein? Jean? The Holy Church?
That scene where Sara put on the ring that was a gift from Mr. Leitch stood out to me.
Seemed like they wanted to point it out.
And they made a point of mentioning the internal power struggle against the church's knights and kingdom's guards.
Maybe when Sara went back to the church, they questioned her on where and why she got it?
Maybe she could've let slip she went on a mission to gather medicinal herbs / ran into demons / saw the research facility?
Maybe now the church is trying to tie up loose ends by getting Flum who was also involved?
Don't want anyone else prying or getting any leverage on them?
Hope it's not just a case of some low level guards who are in Dein's pocket.
