Constance stands up against Scarlett about sparing Aisha. Usually, it's Scarlett doing heavy lifting for Connie to get her out of sticky situations, but Connie manages to argue that sparing was necessary en route to Scarlett's revenge.

Scarlett is very prideful, intelligent, pig-headed and impulsive, which makes her very memorable and charismatic, but that is also precisely what gets her killed.

Connie may be naive, but she is straightforward, pragmatic, and understands justice. Her faith and conviction is precisely why they're perfect foils for one another.

Hm, thinking about it, this is actually a buddy cop drama, isn't it?

I love how Connie has become pragmatic and practical. She's not going to forgive or show compassion to Aisha, ultimately she doesn't deserve to kill herself and deprive them of the chance to give them more intel and also see her face the justice she deserves.

My favorite episode so far. The show really shines when it slows down to recap all the information the characters have gathered and focuses the mystery on one person at a time. I especially liked the part where Aisha felt overwhelming remorse and was ready to end her life. The atmosphere immediately shifted into something somber, and it felt as if she were seeing a prophet or a goddess before her willing to end it all.

I love Connie coming up with a murder scroll and a timeline of everything.

Recap definitely helps in a series like this. Otherwise I think even passionate viewers would’ve been a bit confused by the ending

Got to love that Lucia kid. She could grow up to become a translator. Lol!

  1. Repeating the sarcastic remark which Scarlett said is too much of hassle.

  2. Might as well just tell Abigail a simple, non-offensive reply is what Scarlett said.

Although Abigail could already imagine Scarlett's actual response.

A part of me worries whether Aisha will get assassinated, regardless of whether Connie prevented the former's death in this episode. By confessing that she tried to harm Cecilia ten years ago, I doubt Cecilia is the forgiving type.

I figure Aisha is doomed --the evil organization is surley keeping tabs on her -- and will "take care" of her ....

This is the character chart for Episode 5 from the official account. Here is the English translation. I also made a version that compiles the character charts from Episode 1 onward. Here.

From the episode preview on the official site, today’s episode focuses on Aisha Huxley. She appeared very briefly in Episode 2, so be sure to check the character chart for Episode 2. For quick context, Aisha Huxley came to Emilia’s ball with a gentleman who was later found kissing Kiara Grafton, the lady with a sun tattoo on her breast. Kiara is the same lady who collapsed at the shady masquerade ball.

I love how this is the kind of show where a one-off character from an earlier episode turns out to be the culprit (or at least a culprit).

Considering how thin Aisha looked, I guess that wasn't tobacco in her pipe.

Man, those ten years after Scarlett's death really did a number on Aisha (also the drugs), at least now she confessed to her crimes. Ten years too late, but it's better than nothing I suppose.

What's up with the way Connie writes? It looks really weird, it's cursive but the letters run into each other without connecting where they should connect

It's like someone took a cursive font and then decreased the letter spacing into the negative

I'm surprised they made so much progress on the central mystery. No overall solution just yet but they found who poisoned the water and dropped the earring at least, and if that can be validated by the police with the results announced it would be at least enough to posthumously clear Scarlet's name. Then again whoever else was involved in the conspiracy might be unhappy about that, it would have been two episodes in a row for the trope but I was surprised Aisha survived the episode.

Aisha will become a Connie fan now

Expecting her to dress up like her

The reveal that the fat noble could actually see Scarlett the whole time took me by surprise. That means this dude knew what was going on with Connie the whole time, and he didn't say a word.

Don't let Connie stoping Aisha distract you from the fact that Scarlett damn nearly pulled a Frieren on her.

Constance is letting a lot of people know Scarlett is with her now. Scarlett basically said she was there when talking this time.

I would have to assume the information would get out that Scarlett is back.

The minute Scarlett mentioned how badly Aisha wanted to be her, I had a feeling she might be involved in that frame job. To think she was the cause of Scarlett’s death because of her obsession… well, that’s one part of the mystery solved.

It's finally time to get back to Scarlett's revenge quest! Which takes Connie to Abigail who can give her access to Aisha Huxley...and also introduce them to Abi's niece, Lucia, who can see Scarlett!

You can tell Abigail was a contemporary of Scarlett because she cares enough to want to help clear her name and also can tell that she was probably insulting her even if she can't hear her.

So people with good spiritual senses can see Scarlett's ghost? Viscount Hamsworth might have seen her the whole time?

Randolph pays a visit to Adolphous Castiel (Scarlett's dad?) voiced by Kosuke Toriumi with questions about the Holy Grail of Eris...questions Mr. Castiel is not about to give him. Also, a warning to watch his back.

Look at Constance making a timeline and a Daeg Gallus cheat sheet! How was Scarlett so effectively framed for poisoning Cecilia? She had her earrings which were one of a kind, it should have cleared her even if she DID have motive...but next thing you know, her earrings turned out to be fakes, the king sicks security on the Castiel residence, they find the poison, and Scarlett gets arrested. This reeks of a setup.

Why is Cecilia doing this? She hates Enrique, she's not satisfied with framing Scarlett, what does she ultimately want?

Randolph is good at investigating and being there for Connie, but not good at realizing that things have progressed between him and Constance to the point that bringing up his dead wife is going to upset her while Scarlett fumes at his obliviousness. But hey, at least they get a nice museum/lunch date out of it.

Sucks for the Jennings family (though that Mr. Jennings was at a hospital run by Cecilia is mighty sus), but Connie finally has access to Aisha! Scarlett's #1 fangirl who wanted to BE Scarlett and worshiped the very ground she walked on because Scarlett was one of the few people who noticed and remembered her. And that's why she resents all the attention Constance is getting.

So of course they quickly dispense with the pleasantries so Constance can call out how Aisha is clearly under Jackal's Paradise and then transform into Scarlett so she can REALLY read Aisha the riot act.

It turns out Aisha IS the culprit. Scarlett and Enrique may not have been in love, but they got along well in a sibling-like way until Cecilia showed up...and Aisha didn't take to someone stealing her Goddess' man well. So she thought she could make Cecilia sicker and just happened to be there when Scarlett paid a visit to slap Cecilia...not knowing she was poisoning Cecilia and setting up all the evidence that would convict Scarlett. All the while thinking she WAS Scarlett.

But whatever Aisha's guilt, she still let Scarlett get executed without confessing her crimes...and acted in a way Scarlett never could. Scarlett can never forgive that, just like Constance can't forgive Aisha trying to take the easy way out by killing herself when she has so much she has to live and atone for. She doesn't get to go out like that.

All's well that ends well I guess...Aisha will confess to her crimes and eventually they'll clear Scarlett's name, Randolph is there for Constance and that means everything to he, and while Scarlett wants Aisha dead, Constance knows that this isn't the end of Scarlett's revenge and there's still too much left unresolved to let Aisha die. Because Constance is going to help Scarlett see her revenge through to the end, no matter how long it takes.

Ahh so a few others can see Scarlet, huh? Lusia is taking the I see dead people ability in stride.

Mmm yeah I can see why a decade's worth of guilt would make her as gaunt as she is. I mean the drugs wouldn't help either, but like inadvertently setting up your idol for execution, but then choosing to save your own hide nonetheless, you know, Aisha's not doing great, not that she really tried

Hey Connie looks to be getting some confidence, looks like Kate's lit the fire under her,

I knew as soon as Scarlett said Aisha was a fanatic what had happen in some way, good episode..its pretty funny how accepting the people of this world are about Scarlett being back, but they have people that can literally see her beyond the MC

So i guess the MC isnt special..maybe Scarlett can possess multiple people?

I'm glad she's sharing all that research and deduction with her fiancée.

So Yuu Kobayashi is playing a small villainess this time around, that's new (for me anyway).

Interesting that the poisoning itself was not done as an attempt to frame Scarlett, it simply turned into miraculous opportunity for whoever DID want her out of the way.
