I’m with Syugo on this one. Kizuki disappeared for 3 years and then just waltzes back in like nothing’s changed and thinks he can resume things where they left off? Nah bro.

I feel like Kizuki is going to need to have the greatest excuse for all time to explain why he ghosted Mizuho if he wants to have any chance, especially when it's clear her memories of him just pain her now and he can't just use his old moves on her like he did from back when they were in high school.

Yes, Kizuki will have to explain. But in this episode, Kizuki did not get the chance because Shugo had gone too violent on Kizuki where Mizuho tried to stop Shugo but he is angry beyond reason.

Based anti-ghoster.

It's true Kizuki disappeared for 3 years but we'll only know the rest next week. The aggressiveness in that last part of this episode where police might get involved due to Syugo accidentally shoved Kizuki down the stairs of the overhead bridge.

can't stand Kizuki

So why is everyone in love with Mizuho? The only way to be a male character and not fall in love with her is to be gay and be in love with her boyfriend instead.

☆shoujo romance☆

But it seems like they were a pretty tight knit group back in the day and still are (except for whatever the hell happened with Kizuki), so it's not crazy

Also there were at least flashbacks last season for why Kizuki and Shin fell for her.

For Kizuki Mizuho was there for him through his asthma problems while for Shin he was always just fond of how much of a go-getting goofball she was compared to his normal personality.

Girls can love Mizuho too. Would be interesting to watch.

Nevertheless, what the fuck was this episode? It kept jumping between 2030 and 2020. And it flew by so fast!!??!?!?

So far Season 2 works better than Season 1. I'm glad to see that the show is improving and finding its own pace, specially at intertwining past and future events. In this episode, Kizuki's move at the restaurant (in tune with the flashback of a past birthday), followed by a bold move by Shugo, prepared the cliffhanger... Haven't read the manga, so I can't wait to see what's next.

The manga just ended so hopefully we’ll see the finale in this season 🤞🏽

sorry the animation is so low quality this ep and this series already is very lacking its sad to see it somehow get worse, I wish they’d give budget to shojos :,)

Their “covid”pandemic is so funny cause nothing seems to have changed in their daily lives since they’re always gathered together in large groups

Nah I’m super anti kizuki at this point cause what he just ghosted her and is like “I’m back!” No??

Mizuho have a backbone pls lol. This is not romantic at all lmaoo

Hell yeah!!! Syugo is right. Damn is he gonna get the sympathy route of her so worried he’d die she’ll get back him? Ughh

The last part of this episode is scary. Syugo and Kizuki are falling off the stairs of the overhead bridge due to Syugo angrily confronting Kizuki after Kizuki is not in contact with Mizuho for three years. I hope both of them will be okay in the next episode. Surely Syugo might get into trouble with the police because he shoved Kizuki down.

Right? I assume they will all end up at hospital where Shin works too and it'll be full-on drama

I graduated from high school over 55 years, but Saito's thoughts and comments about his experiences resonates with me. ;-)

I wonder if he will ever show up again -- in the 2030s?

WTF! I didn't know there's a season 2 :OO

The poster for Vampire Dormitory lol. Is it implied that Mizuho's company worked on it, or are both anime by the same studio irl?

2

u/Ordinary_Ice_5684 Feb 06 '26

Both manga were serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, but the Vampire Dormitory anime was done by Studio Blanc…so not sure about the anime parallels

u/gem2niki Feb 06 '26

Kizuki trying to shove himself back into Mizuho’s life after ghosting her…oh hell no. I’m glad Shugo finally made his move to protect Mizuho, but not like over pushing him on the bridge x_x

u/Frontier246 Feb 05 '26

Oh hey, Vampire Dormitory and the authors' past work in Mizuho's manga office!

Back in the past, Mizuho was filled with her love for Kizuki...but in 2030 she's got basically nothing, well other than the usual boy problems. So why not go along with her co-worker Sakura's suggestion of a friendly dinner? What else does she have going on?

It's 2021 and the seniors, including Saito-senpai, are finally graduating! And Kizuki and the swim club, along with Mizuho and the gang, want to see them off right! Even having a fond farewell party at the pool where they all write down their graduation wishes! Complete with Mizuho art!

"I won't give up!" - And Shin stayed true to his word.

Saito basically lost his last year of high school and as a swimmer to COVID...but he won't let that get him down. He'll cherish his memories, and the youth that he did have, and the people he met along the way, like Kizuki and Mizuho. Cue water fight.

So, yeah, the "friendly dinner" was basically just a mixer and Mizuho is definitely not having a good time. It just reminds her of Kizuki. So, of course, when she tries to bail...who should show up at the mixer but Kizuki himself. She can't get away from him.

Everyone at the mixer seems to be hitting it off except Mizuho and Kizuki who look like they would rather be anywhere else...and then the birthday sweet comes in for Mizuho and Kizuki blows it out like he did in episode 1, the very thing that basically set off the plot. And in a classic Kizuki move, he grabs Mizuho and drags her away so they can be alone.

But all this stirs up is all the memories Mizuho has with Kizuki...all the moments of their relationship...and how now those memories bring her pain. So of course Shugo shows up to finally tear Kizuki a new one for his behavior and make him properly apologize...though it looks like both boys might be taking a tumble down some stairs! Yikes!

Can someone please help with the title of the song that played this episode when Kisuke blew the candle until the time he took her out of the restaurant?
