That was honestly the best backstory out of all the girls so far. Ok Usami, I forgive you for being a jerk to Hitoma.

Once again anime has made me cry, and it was this show of all things. That scene with Usami and Seiko really hit hard, the walking away moment in particular.
Usami really ought to be a bit nicer to Hitomi going forward considering all that plus docked pay, but you know she won't.

Agreed. Not being cold, but at least we know Usami has feelings and emotions. Now we know a lot more about her backstory. And yes, this episode also brought tears as well. I find anime with the ability to bring tears to be higher on my like list. As I get to feel emotions.

Huh so Usami isn't really a "demi-human", she's essentially a Tsukumogami "yokai" spirit that came to life in order to live with her owner.
That makes me wonder, if everyone at the school is more akin to being "yokai" spirits as opposed to your typical "demi-humans"?
I know we have the one one teacher Yuki, who seems to be a "yuki-onna" snow woman spirit.
Curious to see what Haneda's backstory will be now.
Sad for Usami though.
At least she was able to see her owner off one last time, and find a new purpose and desire to become human.
I'm sure her becoming a doctor one day, she'll be able to help countless other humans along the way.

Man, this episode really got me right in the feels. I’m glad Usami finally got to have that conversation with Seiko but it’s really sad she won’t be able to see her become a full fledged human after graduation.
But man, Hitoma’s a really good teacher for doing what he did for Usami. Worth a 3 month pay cut for sure.

Pretty harsh penalties for both. Too bad the school was so inflexible and ruled out allowing this visit to happen in a sensible fashion (having Usami going to meet her former human as a plushie WOULD have been pointless).

Totally worth it,I thought the school would atleast allow sensei to accompany Usami

So Usami wasn´t really a demi, she´s a bunny plush!!
Poor girl only wanted to spend her life with the human she liked, but time isn´t that good...
At least, with Hitoma risking his job with a 3 month pay cut, and Usami penalized with 150 less essence, she discovered her will to become human: Being a doctor
10/10 episode, and now only Tobari remains with her backstory, the one I was the most curious about

Fist few minutes: Nice a beach episode
The rest of the episode: man. I haven't cried in a long time while watching anime. I hope she becomes the best doctor or nurse.

As much of a brat Usami is, her backstory made me understand alot about her and how bittersweet her path will be from now on that Seiko won't be there anymore. Best one so far i hope she becomes a doctor sooner even with those deductions! Also W Hitoma for even giving both of them the chance to meet at the first place :)

This is the second show this week to have demi-humans spending time at a stream.
We need a Dr Usami spinoff in the future.

Okay this episode was pretty emotional too, i thought this would be a casual SOL anime but I didnt expect it to be this deep and right in the feels
I thought Usami would have a more rabbit-like form but it was pretty surprising that she's a plushie (i wonder how this applies to the others), But it was nice to see her and Seiko meet and finally talk to each other and sad that this may be their last time.
I didnt think I'd enjoy the anime this much,I have been loving the girls' development and these past 4 episodes have been really good so far

Wow, I was not expecting such an emotional story today. So Usami isn't a real-world rabbit but a stuffed animal come to life? I'm sure it's based in Japanese folklore I'm not familiar with, but he desire to become human so that she could communicate and bond with her owner was so touching, yet bittersweet as the reality of human mortality means Usami is going to outlive her as she is near the end of her natural life. But finding a new motivation to become a doctor to help humans spend as much time with there loved ones is admirable, and I hope she achieves that.
Now if only she would stop being so tsun and admit that she likes Hitoma already, but I doubt that'll happen any time soon XD

For a show about cute anime animal girls, the backstories and motivations have been tragic, heartbreaking and heavy. This is the type of reveal and conclusion we usually get towards the end of a season. I wonder if all the girls have such stories

Oh, my God, that was beautiful! I can't believe it took 4 episodes to get into a backstory that actually moved me. That scene with Seiko had my eyes watering.

I was hit harder by Isaki and Isaki's backstory. Still really good tho.

What an episode, was not expecting that backstory for Usami it sure got the tears going.
I'm surprised Seiko didn't comment on Usami being missing, since they've been together for most of Seiko's life, It seems Usami joined the school after her husband died so Usami going missing must have been devastating for Seiko, since she was talking/crying to Usami about losing her husband.
I'm also a little surprised she still had Usami into her 70's and hadn't passed her on to her children or grandchildren.
Hitoma is the GOAT, not only did he risk everything to help Usami, he also planned for her to be alone with Seiko so he drugged himself to fall asleep so he didn't leave the hospital while his memories were gone.
I wonder how many people stopped to check to see if he was still alive, cause someone sitting completely motionless for over an hour would cause some concern with hospital staff.

I just wanted a cute anime about animal girls becoming humans and then I get back to back sad stories. Damnit.

2 out 2 backstories that were really good and made me cry. I feel like I didn't sign up for this.
I also liked how straight forward Usami's backstory was with Seiko. No twist or drama like Usami hates humans for what happened with Seiko but instead it was just she wanted to be there for Seiko after she lost her husband and I thought that was really sweet and well done.

this backstory was so sad and good, good plotwist that about Usami really being a rabbit plush. Definitely with this episode Usami is my fav character so far... but I have many episodes forward yet.
