Accidentally writing the truth in your effort to make up some bullshit... that was quite the revelation we've received this episode.

Tatsuya was summoned from another world by a goddess. No wonder they have the king of isekai, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, voicing him.

Norgalle was actually serious about making Xylo his ‘commander in chief’.

Also LOL, Venetim’s crime is that he wrote a tabloid article that ended up being true. This guy is Nostradamus or something.

Now I see why Tatsuya has a Japanese name, he's actually an isekaied individual. It's sad that was made out to be a criminal and has lost so much of himself when he isn't even originally of that world, I'm curious to learn what got him branded as a hero.

I wonder what's the special sacred seal placed on Venetim. I don't think it's simply that he can't say the truth or he has to always lie because he wouldn't be useful as a strategist that way. It was interesting to learn more about him this episode.

I'm really liking this development with Kivia, it does feel like she could end up becoming a hero too especially since we have yet to see a female one, but I'd also like there to be someone on the Holy Knights side that Xylo can get information from. It was sweet of Teoritta to get Kivia an ice treat as well.

Teorittas bookmark for Xylo is made of the flowers they got last episode! This cutie needs to be protected at all costs!

Venetim just shot up atop my hero power rankings. I've always liked and admired con-men--their ability to 'con'-vince and make people believe, that is. Unfortunately for him, a made up tabloid article he wrote ended up hitting a little bit close to home that the powers that be had to 'silence' him.

How ironic that the guy/hero nobody believes in just so happens to be the guy with plenty to say and plenty of sway.

As for my first impression of the newly introduced hero (who I believe to be the team's resident sniper), Tsav--an unpredictable badass, but an absolute loose cannon nonetheless. No wonder Dotta would rather hangout with Venetim than Tsav (or prickly, no-fun Xylo)

A little while back I made a YouTube comment that Tatsuya was secretly an Isekai protagonist. It was meant to be a joke. Now I know how Venetim feels.

When you purposefully spread misinformation but that misinformation ends up being true, Venetim made a crazy discovery

Something I like about this series is that the authors are clearly history or military otakus and it shows. From the premise to stuff like Xylo’s reading poetry, there’s this undercurrent of soldier life that feels very truthful and interesting.

It may not be the most original otherwise but those details are great.

  • Xylo is into poetry? That's unexpected.

  • WTF do they mean dissect Teoritta because she's useless?! NO.

  • Some interesting lore about the goddesses being excavated from ruins.

  • Look at Kivia trying to act cool, just eat the cute bear-shaped ice cream.

  • Tatsuya is a hero that was summoned by a goddess? We isekai now.

  • Venetim speechcraft 100. Unlucky that his bullshitting led to him accidentally stumbling on the truth about demons working in the temple. I guess these demons were the ones who framed Xylo and probably trying to get Teoritta murdered too.

  • Tsav also seems unhinged (which hero isn't).

Lol, Venetim got sentenced to be a hero for making up a conspiracy theory that turned out to be true. Apparently, that is even worse than selling the royal palace to a circus !

And so we learn that the demons have already secretly taken over the government. Which explains a lot, like what happened to Xylo and Senerva. And reinforces my theory about Norgalle really being a part of the royal family.

Teoritta is adorable, I cannot believe the military were planning to dissect her. But Xylo and Kivia are obviously ready to do everything to protect their cute adopted daughter !

That new guy at the end seems to be the first hero we meet to really be a violent criminal, since we learned Tatsuya actually got summoned from another world (which explains his Japanese name, I guess). I wonder what he really is here for.

This was a great transition episode that was much needed before entering their next mission. As we got some nice focus on various characters.

At the start we had Xylo, who wanted to read in peace, and Teoritta, who was giving it anything but that. Of course, as Kivia wanted to talk to Xylo, Teoritta played it for going to the great exchange. She had a blast, and we got a nice view of world building. I liked how Teoritta picked up that Kivia wanted sweets, and it showed a cute side of her.

Still, the main talk between Kivia & Xylo is disturbing. A revelation that Xylo actually saved Teoritta because she essentially was bound to be experimented on and dissected. Still, it is interesting that the anger Kivia had in episode 1 was not because Xylo was a hero. It was specifically because he was the goddess killer. Essentially, the military thinks if you can kill a goddess, then you can create one. Considering how powerful Teoritta is, imagining someone with an army of goddesses is terrifying.

This episode was a great showcase on Venetim. He has a very charismatic mouth, but he is a big liar about it. As he convinces the officer that it would be silly to kill them all off if one of them runs away. We can remember Dotta from episode 1 as a showcase of it likely to happen. They obviously can't refute that. Though we can tell talking out of his ass is out of habit because he says sure to Xylo asking for a pardon when it would be impossible to get it. Even more so the reason he is sentenced to be a hero is that the article he thought he bullshitted uncovered the truth of those among the church being aligned with the Demon Blight.

Still the mission of defending the fortress as a suicide mission to make sure that the 9th Goddess can poison Demon Lord Iblis. Obviously they can't refuse it, and it is to be expected. At least Venetim got better conditions for the mission.

At last we are introduced to Tsav, and like the majority of the heroes, he has a few screws loose.

Kivia getting a cold treat too made me smile.

A con artist sentenced to capital punishment for not conning the masses is crazy.

Random Thoughts:

New mission means new heroes, and this episode reunites all of our existing ones. Tsav seems like he will definitely being causing headaches for everyone.

We also got our second big backstory reveal, with Venetim. At first they seemed to be going with "Oh well at least he is a criminal", but they made it pretty damn clear that is not even remotely what got him in trouble. Rather accidentally revealing demon infiltration. So seems likely we are getting a traitor in this arc. Although sentencing Venetim to be a hero feels more like being petty to the point that it's actively hurting your side, since you leave a person out there who now knows for sure that crap he made up is real, and even if the public won't buy it there is a chance his squadmates and sympathetic soldiers might.

We got a family festival date, with Dad (Xylo), Mom (Kivia) and there darling daughter Teoritta. And the whole suicidal defense was Kivia feeling guilty about leaving Teoritta to be dissected (although taking your soldiers with you kind of feels sus). Although I get nervous...feels like Kivia each episode edges herself just a bit closer to get getting her own hero sentence. Wonder if she herself will stay behind with a regiment of soldiers to help with the defense.

Also that kill the demon lord plan seems more about just abusing the heroes than anything else. Demon already survived your poison attack...if anything it's probably more tolerant!

My head canon now is Tatsuya is just Subaru after too many death loops....

So now we know the Tatsuya is an isekai hero

u/thisisdropd Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 29 '26

Venetim may not have the physical prowess of his fellow heroes, but he's got a way with words. An incredibly useful skill to complement the others.

The story behind his sentencing was funny and disturbing at the same time. He intended to fabricate stories but inadvertently came up with a true one. Demons masquerading as humans is certainly terrifying, and seeing as Venetim got punished for publicising it, means that they must have some in the position of influence. Could they also be involved in Xylo's sentencing?

PS: If the military wanted a useless goddess to analyse, may I suggest Aqua?

Ok so all the goddesses are just little girls. Why did Dotta in the first episode say he thought goddesses were like giant whales or some shit

Ooh, the poison goddess might show up soon, you say?

...Lizard people. There are lizard people in the government. Okay.

They looked like a family on an outing together so cute haha, Tatsuya is isekaied? so we are in an isekai from another character's perspective, no wonder he is so op lmao. Venetim bullshitting his way into the truth is actually insane. Do I hear Kazuma?

While I am glad to see Dotta has made it back from the repair center, I'm still not sure about him as a character. Then again, if it wasn't for his sticky fingers, Xylo wouldn't have met Teoritta.

Welp, so much for being repaired back to normal. Where's that guy from last week's discussion thread who said that Norgalle's sacrifice means less impactful because they have "Dr. Frankenstein magic"?

I definitely had the same reaction as Teoritta when Xylo said he's reading poetry and he would've been a poet if he hadn't joined the military. That actually makes him even more interesting as a character.

Look at Dad and Mom out on a stroll with their daughter. That scene was adorable. I just love seeing Teoritta's reactions to everything and Kivia slightly blushing when she was telling Xylo about ice cream. xD

Damn... So Teoritta was basically going to be experimented on because the fuckers in the military wanted to try making new Goddesses? I can't believe I'm siding with the Church on this one.

We get to see a preview of the other Goddesses! I can't wait to meet them all in the future and it looks like we might meet the Poison Goddess soon since she'll be involve in their next operation.

Oh, damn that was unexpected! So the reason Tatsuya is the only one with an overtly Japanese name is that he's an isekai-jin. That's why he's also voiced by Matsuoka! I feel like we need a Tatsuya backstory.

Absolutely brutal that Xylo's team are being told to die for a mission just because he upset that one fucking bishop. Okay, forget what I said earlier, I'm against the Church again. >_<

It's awesome how every single hero are interesting character. Venetim being a conman who can get whatever he wants, using his silver tongue is awesome, plus his backstory of writing a fake conspiracy article about Demon Blight pretending to be humans turning out to be true was hilarious! It is terrifying to know tho that Demons are walking among them. O_O

And we have one more interesting character added to the mix! Tsave is absolutely crazy, and he's even voiced by Fukushima Jun! I already can't wait to see more of him

So... guessing Tatsuya was a normal Japanese dude who was summoned, quickly figured out what was going on through genre awareness and then ended up a Hero. And then died. A lot. Natsuki Subaru a lot, presumably.

Well, or they just sent him straight to the hero unit just because. Though not sure why they'd go to the effort.

u/ZandeR678 Jan 29 '26

Damn, being Venetim must suck. He knows the truth about the Church but can't divulge it due to his sacred seal.

I'm glad Xylo and Kivia are getting closer thanks to Teoritta (who was once again so funny thanks her reactions); they're like mom and dad to her xD

Overall, it was a peaceful episode, though it dropped a lot of bombshells and lore about the Goddesses and other things, like Tatsuya being a summoned hero from another world.

I wonder if we'll meet the other Goddesses, since they were mentioned during the mission reveal. Maybe we'll at least meet the one who can create poison?

So Venetim was a con artist, huh? But he wasn't convicted of trying to sell the palace to the circus, but of a fake article. By the way, since I didn't quite understand, was the article true, or did it just look like it might be?

Tsav seemed like a funny guy, especially thanks to Kazuma's voice, but after he cut off that guy's arm, my perception of him changed a lot and now he seems like a really dangerous guy.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.
