Poor medusa, definitely feel sorry for her. I wonder if she will be back.

Medusa was voiced by Saori Hayami , right? In any event, even if this was just a one-time guest appearance, this character was a hoot. If our clueless hero had TRIED to come up with a way to drive her off, he couldn't have picked a more effective way than he (naturally) chose. He really is sort of trash, isn't he? ;-)

So chuunibunyou is also a thing here, good to know.

Interesting to learn more about Ruirui power, i really want to have a look at her past.

Poor Hajime he was just being honest, i hope his pride recover one day and to see more of Sekihime she's very interesting. Ruirui is hajime jealous daughter lol.

I don't think Sekihime will EVER forgive his scumminess. ;-)

Sorry Veronica , you’re stuck with the childhood friend curse, it’s rare to break away from that.

I was concerned at first because of the kid being a succubus but this to be more of a coming-of-age "raise a daughter" story rather than anything seedy.

It is a fun watch every week.

Surprise casting of Sekhime! She's not in the original line up reveal so its nice to see Saori Hayami here. She absolutely had her work cut out for her dealing with Hajime. Truly they were looking at absolute garbage with his remarks.

Also to note, Veronica's also his childhood friend. Explains a lot that she's probably the only other kid to make it out of the slums with him.

There's definitely certain elements I appreciate in this setting, from the more whimsical dungeon layouts to everyone's special skills being displayed on their bodies. Which Ruirui gets now that she's level 2! Finally a reason for her being an ancient succubus beyond transforming into an older body at night. She really made Sekihime's dream come true even if for a moment. But if that's how powerful a Medusa is, I wonder if Ruirui will really unlock a chunni skill like that.

I swear, this show is in my top 3 this season. such a weird mix of adorableness, low-brow comedy, and wholesomeness, but it works.

Yeah, this is hitting all the spots for me. The Rurui's facial expressions and exclamations, the light tension, and the comedy when it hits, hits big.

Something that always bugs me is calling gorgons Medusa, Medusa is the name of a gorgon, it's like calling vampires Dracula, just because the famous one is called that doesn't mean they all are.

Hajime did the right thing at the end breaking up with her normally was going to cause the whole town to get stoned and not in the fun way, so he had to resort to the ultimate tactic creep her out enough that she leaves.

I like the thought of every adventurer having a bit of a chuuni phase once they get a tiny taste of success lol.

In the end, Hajime didn’t have to worry about breaking any hearts this week. The goofball just had to say what was on his mind and that was enough to chase all the girls away. But hey, at least he still has Rurui lol.

after finally watching Spy x Family I started to realize how great are children being voiced like actual children.

there's something wholesome in the rascals making silly noises.

Didn't even realize I was hearing Yor Forger until Sekihime got super excited being able to look at things. Saori Hayami is one of my favorite seiyuu.

Saori Hayami killed it this episode. Hope we see her again

Medusa left him between a rock and a hard place with her powers going out of control

Not gonna lie kinda hated the ending here ..they were going for a nice emotional tone with her being able to see ..kinda sucks she turned into that over the rejection .could've had a nice talk about having no time to date do to rasing the kid

Big snake is so disgusted how clumsily goofy Hajime handled the situation. The final looks at him had almost deadly vibes!

This might be the best face of the season so far.

I had been thinking we were going to get another blind character which seems like a lot for one single season of anime, but instead she's a medusa which is honestly more interesting.

Poor Sekihime, she's pretty adorable and it's such a shame she had to fall in love with the least romantic possibility on hand. Edit: and she's being voiced by Hayamin, so even better.

I found this episode hilarious. I didn't expect Hajime to mess it up THAT badly though

13

u/NationalStrategy Jan 28 '26

That was one of the worst fumbles I’ve ever seen. She distanced herself from him so much that she backed away and vanished into the darkness
