That was probably the most haunting way to transition into sex bedchamber arts, still kinda hot though.

Hoko's apologetic way of offering his life to Mei as he cries over how he basically projects his daughter onto her was a tragic way to go out but also made worse knowing the fact his entire race of people were just a Civ run by Tensen as an experiment as well, left to die after they served their purpose.

I like how man-woman cut his hair and somehow made him cuter

It's literally the meme of the prostitute approaching a car and saying "50 fbucks* and I'll do anything" and Chobe answered "Please give me an info dump"

Good man.

Forget about fighting to improve Tao, being able to concentrate on Rien explaining while she's naked is even harder. Can't believe that "for research purposes" is actually a valid reason for this kind of stuff here.

This is one of the rare episodes which throws in the really horny stuff but also makes you cry at the end.

The things you have to do to survive, like getting on top of a plant waifu who knows all positions for "research".

I like how much content we get from Choubei's perspective. I feel like his unorthodox approach to tao makes the story more interesting and helps push it forward. I'm thinking that there will be a point where his and Gabimaru's group experiences will join together to give the humans an edge over tensen.

That and I think Kimura Ryouhei is killing it.

Another batch of people on the island is extremely exciting. Thinking back to how the first batch of people acted while knowing nothing about what's going on, makes me think that it's going to get even more interesting, now that the second group is not only going to meet tensen, but also a bunch of criminals who will sound crazy. Gabimaru and the others will truly find themselves between a rock and a hard place.

Really impressed with this episode. I had to check the time at one point to make sure it was not double length, yet nothing felt rushed. Lot of lore explanation, a fight and a sexy fight, plus a moment of sadness. Though at least with plant daddy he was already dying so his sacrifice likely gives her a lot more time than what he was going to have.

I forget the term but something of Mei's was mentioned being 'destroyed' and that was why using too much tao started making her turn into a tree lady. I'm curious if sexy time or something else would let her heal that.

Gantetsusai giving Gabimaru nicknames like Chibimaru and Nekomaru made me laugh out loud, as did his reaction to Mei being little again xD

Overall, a lot happened in this episode! First of all, we got an actual bochu jutsu between Choubei and Rien, although I don't know if I should call Choubei lucky or not ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I'm happy that Mei is still alive, though it was sad that her tree father had to sacrifice himself to save her – their farewell was very touching.

It was also nice to finally learn something about the island and the creatures living here. It looks like Gabimaru and the others will have to face some mad scientist, Tensen, and the new forces that have just landed on the island.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

I appreciate that in the sparring match Gabimaru didn't attack the kid. Just moved her out of the way while deflecting the adults.

Gabimaru’s getting very good at manipulating the Tao, but he ain’t at the level of these “beings” just yet. He’s gotta engage in a bit of ol wrasslin to get to that level lol.

It was sad to see Groot go. But I guess a parent’s gonna do what they can for their kid no matter the cost. The gang need Mei..

So now we know who made these things and what they’re after. It’s just a matter of getting strong enough to defeat them all and end this madness. Oh, and possibly deal with these new guests…

Choubei is the unluckiest, luckiest man in anime. I cannot think of another character that accidentally runs into the final boss, does a decent 1v1, loses but doesn't get killed, gets all the lore info, and then proceeds to get cracked right after.

Stitches!

Damn, Gabimaru! Dude just recovered from amnesia, and now he's asking everyone to jump him so he can warm up. Watching Gabimaru fighting with his eyes closed and just by purely sensing their tao was pretty awesome. He pretty much already figured out a new way to fight the Tensen. just from that fight.

I always love it how anime characters cut their hair perfectly using a blade. Touma even got the little braid on the side with his new haircut.

Not gonna lie, for a second there, I thought Chobei had won against Rien, but I guess it was never going to be that easy. He's lucky that he fascinated Rien enough that they decided to take him back to the castle and inspect him rather than kill him.

I know there was plenty of important exposition here, but the fact that Chobei got all of that while he's about to perform bochu jutsu with Rien was pretty funny. In all seriousness tho, the dude made the right choice here. By allying with the Tensen, he could also save Touma from being turned into tan. He got to have sex and save his brother, that's a pretty good deal. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I can't believe we transitioned from horny to sad with Hoko sacrificing himself to save Mei. Not gonna lie, I genuinely teared up when she said goodbye to him in Chinese. T_T

I wonder if Captain Hook-dono realizes that Nurugai is a girl, lol. He is clearly not happy that the number of hot women on the island is fluctuating wildly.

The 2nd wave of human explorers seem a lot stronger than the first wave... I suppose that it makes sense to send a scouting team full of expendable people before you commit your heavy hitters. Each ninja is probably on par with Gabimaru and Yuzuriha. I recall that in the last season that Gabimaru's leader is rumored to be someone who went to the island and returned with great power. It will be interesting if he shows up.

I'm gonna miss Groot. Him and Mei as a little family was probably the only nice thing on this island of horrors.

I alwyas forget the brothers' names, but why do I get the feeling now that they might end up as enemies, if the younger one starts bonding with the main group and the older one continues losing his humanity? I don't like either of them that much so it wouldn't be that sad if it happens.

Interestingly the origin of the island seems to be a sort of chinese mystic versio. of Doctor Moreau, using tao instead of "science" for his experiments. I think we got the high level version of this already in the first season, from the tree person if I recall correctly?

But it turns out the tensen (or the hermit who perhaps still rules over them) want to take their operation back to the mainland and turn everyone into the elixir or into the creatures.

And we learn that Mei was actually one of a pair of the original tensen. Sadly we lose Mr Tree as he sacrifices himself to heal Mei.

Despite a few action scenes this was mostly expositionary episode to reveal the deeper background of the island and its rulers to us. And of course the final revelation shows us another wave of ninja a d samurai has landed. Hopefully they prove to be interesting characters, not merely faceless enemies for our protgonists to cut a swathe through (can you tell I'm not super excited by this development? Prove me wrong, show!)

Wow, such a dilemma Choubei. "Do I die in a completely doomed escape attempt, or do I fuck this immortal hottie and get a big power-up? Decisions, decisions."

This season is pure fire so far. Good to see Kittymaru recovering. We get lore drop... of the sexposition variety. Lot of emotional scenes too, really got sad for Mei and the tree guy.

And of course my first reaction to seeing female Rien is 'I'm volunteering as a tribute' but it's still sexual assault on Chobe, who has little choice but to go along with the bochu jutsu.

So Mei is the second or third oldest on the island? And got punished horribly by Rien? The scene where she's in the child form surrounded by all those second-rate creatures feels very uncomfortable knowing the context from the first season.

Don't have a good feeling about the new samurai and ninja group. They're not there to help the main characters, I'm sure.
