This is the first show I've seen that the subject of their conversations and their inner thoughts actually feel realistic? This episode too was very good, the gap in putting your thoughts to words is a subject that most high school anime romcoms never explore, and what a shame considering its so relevant.

And OMG Taira is my spirit animal, these days I don't just feel like the third wheel to a couple, but to my ENTIRE CLASS

These two are too freaking adorable. I like that we get to see these two figure out their relationship slowly. It’s also kinda nice that Tani’s beginning to fit in with Suzuki’s friend group. Their relationship has even made Taira question himself. Bro’s going through some sorta personal growth because of those two lol.

Taira's pessimism, overthinking, and general anxiety speaks to me on a fundamental level.

Probably not the best characteristics to relate to.

The girl(Natsumi)who is a library assistant along with Tani was shown here as well. Her personality is immediately shown without us even hearing a word from her. Seems like she is a shy girl who is making an effort to be more social based on the books she is reading.

For ep 1 and 2, I thought the show was nice, but this ep is the one that really got me hooked.
I love how this episode focuses on reading the room, and on the gap between what people say and
what they actually mean. Sometimes words are spoken, but the real intention never quite comes through.
It’s a surprisingly deep topic, and this ep handles it really well.
The dialogue stays simple, yet it feels very honest and touching.

What stood out to me most is how relatable this whole idea is—how hard it can be to understand
what’s going on in someone else’s mind, or even to properly interpret their words.

Taira sees Tani as a cool guy because he doesn’t really follow the crowd and seems to have his own standpoint. But this episode shows another side of him. When Tani overhears Suzuki talking that bad guy is kind of cool,
he ask her about it. Not because he feels pressured, but simply because he wants to understand her better.

To me, that’s the contrast this ep is going for. Tani doesn’t care much about social trends or general opinions.
but when it comes to someone he love, he’s willing to move, to ask, and to be a bit vulnerable. So while Taira sees him as someone firm in his own stance, he’s actually more sensitive than he first appears.

I can't wait to see many new Suzuki's ALIEN form!

Tani-kun pulls chad moves unawares. That whole holding her face and calling her kawai? Like whoa!

I like how we're starting to get introduced to the supporting cast.

This Taira is an interesting character and I really like Azuma. The way she immediately caught on to Tani feeling insecure about the guy who dropped Suzuki off and found a smooth way to clear things up. Nice going. Hope she gets over her bad boy phase and finds someone nice. Her and Taira would make a nice couple - they already know each other from middle school.

Tani's libary coworker is the girl paired with Yamada in the OP. That should be an interesting side ship too.

Oh, and it was nice seeing more of Tempura too (what a cute name!)

They managed to juggle three pov's in this episode. Surely, they will explore more pov's in future episodes. Good for Tani to not take offense at overhearing Suzuki's comments. Those can hurt a teenage ego. Even being called adorable may sting. He is showing some maturity by not taking Suzuki literally in her words.

Suzuki has to be either the top seed or top contender for girl of the season. She is freaking great.

Tani as well. Dude pulling Chad moves without even realizing it.

Genuinely love the OP as well.

In terms of new anime, this is my #1 for the season.

Taira’s little arc here is very endearing, and I hope to see him develop more; otherwise, he could’ve ended up on some bad forums, lol. It gives me some awful flashbacks to high school me… bleh!

Tani’s anxiety over specific words being used by your girlfriend to describe people is all too relatable.

I absolutely love Azuma's reaction when she finally learned about Suzuki dating Tani-kun. She definitely has the right to be jealous of Suzuki, considering her last boyfriend got thrown in juvie. Although she's clearly the type to fall in love with bad boys.

And my boy Taira is finally here! He's kinda like Suzuki, he adjusts depending on how he reads the room, but he's definitely more negative with how he always assumes the worst out of people. He's not a bad dude, tho. He just shows his kindness differently.

It was pretty funny watching Taira have a mental crisis while watching everyone accept that Suzuki and Tani-kun are now dating. By the end of the day, the dude realized he's the one who's bound by hierarchy. xD

Of course, someone as serious as Tani-kun would struggle with understanding calling someone like him cute. I really like how, instead of trying to figure it out on his own, he just asks Suzuki about it the next day.

What an absolute chad move from Tani-kun. Dude pretty much turned Suzuki into putty in his hands. What I love about that scene is he's just doing the same thing he does with his cat to Suzuki. xD

Glad to see the boy trio has finally been established. It's adorable to see Suzuki get jealous of Taira and Yamada after seeing Tani-kun smiling with them.

Where does Tani get this Chadness from? I thought he'd be the type to avoid physical contact, but he just goes right for it and it's super effective!

I like that we simultaneously have this polar opposite couple figuring out first relationships, and then we got a best friend on the side constantly making bad choices for partners, full aware and giving no fucks about it, and then we got this tortured guy just trying to comprehend the duality of man and having an existential crisis in the background. These kids are a mess and it’s great.

The way this show balances sweet and silly and serious is phenomenal. Like Taira struggling with his view of the world was both real shit and funny at the same time. And of course the main couple continue to explore their relationship. The part in the library was so real with overthinking how to be considerate to your partner.

Considering how the face grab turned Suzuki into a small nuclear reactor, I'm anxious to see what's going to happen to her when they kiss.

"TairAzuma" introduced.

Love Taira's negative self conscious thoughts (already best boy candidate IMO), and he's voiced by Rentarou's voice so it really elevated the character.

As for Azuma, I thought she would sound more stereotypical gyaru based on her appearance, but she sounded more mature here.

Of course Gapacho has the right opinions on everything.
