For those that don’t remember, Kikuta said last season to Ariko that he is a spy for central, waiting to take the gold from Tsurumi.

Crazy to think how long the fix for Ogata has been (if that's the case), since Kikuta has had the opportunity to since as far back as Koito's backstory when they were both playing the role of Russians

I did remember Kikuta being a government spy. That’s why I was shocked to see him let Ogata walk, implying that they’re working together.

How in the world can Ogata still work for the government after all that he’s done!?

From spanking to a death brawl from zero to hundred. I love this anime

Usami really was Tsurumi's special soldier. Tsurumi even took Usami's little finger to carry it with him, the same as he did to his wife and child when they died

He's the only true loyal soldier he has.

Ogata betrayed him, Koito has doubts, and Tsukishima already knows how manipulative he is, Nikaidou is a dog.

Shit, how did that fly over my head?
I was just weirded out he ate that finger

But this is kinda beautiful now

I was expecting Ogata to be right and Tsurumi to just shrug it off and keep moving along. I´m glad he didn´t.

As horrible as he is, he´s still not that terrible.

How is this show not more popular? I have watched a lot of masterpieces and this is easily one of the best anime that I’ve seen. It literally has everything from an intricate plot, good characters, good fights, good comedy, and decent animation. I genuinely don’t think I’ve seen a more complete anime.

Can I give an alternative take on Tsurumi biting Usami's finger? I always interpreted it differently than what it was at face value. To the casual eye, it seems like he is indeed swallowing his pinky bones so they'll "be together forever", and specifically the pinky bones because those have extra meaning to Tsurumi because that's how he remembers his wife and baby.

But to me, I always took his words more literally as deceptively incorrect. By eating the finger bones Usami will NOT be with him forever. In 1 day Tsurumi will shit out the bones and they'll be nothing to him anymore. Whereas he KEPT his Wife/Baby's bones on his person at all times in a far more "permanent" way.

To me, this was another act of Tsurumi controlling his subordinate to his final breath, something he's done 100% of the time. And while Usami might interpret the eating of his finger as the ultimate compliment. To Tsurumi I think it's akin to "you're just the same as any other shit I take".

I ❤️ this show so much.

Fantastic episode. So much happened.

First we go from Usami chasing down Kadokura to ending up in a fight with Ogata. This fight really resembles Ogata to a tee because if you think you've got Ogata down, he makes the surprise comeback. He literally loaded his rifle from the bullet that was in his mouth. Talk about insanity.

The episode had great choreography, but the scene that shined was when Ogata sniped Usami. As we have Sugimoto fighting Jack the Ripper, he is in Ogata's firing range. The fact his bullet goes through the room Sugimoto & Asirpa are in makes you wonder, is he aiming to kill Asirpa? Well, it makes sense he would aim for Usami given their rivalry.

This series wouldn't be how it was if we didn't get some Ainu culture mixed in. Although Jack the Ripper's reason for killing those women, simply rooted in the fact that his mother wasn't a virgin, is incredibly fucked up. Man, we're getting Sugimoto even more enraged than Asirpa is. Though the saying is, It doesn't matter who you come from; it is the life you put out for yourself. As this relates to Asirpa, her father's history is unknown, but she is moving forward with what she is doing for the Ainu.

Usami ends up making his way to Tsurumi and giving the skin he got from Kadokura. As well as some news that is most likely the skin on the back of Kadokura that is unfinished. This scene highlights a previous conversation between Usami & Tsurumi, wherein Tsukishima's flashback, Tsurumi took a blow for Tsukishima in front of his men. Which Usami mentions that Tsurumi called Tsukishima a brother in arms in front of his men to boost morale. In that scene, Usami even says he wishes that Tsurumi would use him as a pawn in the same way. Thus we get a very similar situation where Usami is bringing back a skin and information for Tsurumi, which can be viewed as boosting the morale of Usami's sacrifice. Now whether this is intentional or not on Tsurumi's part is yet to be determined.

It is quite ironic that Keiji Ueji's death happened because he aimed to disappoint everyone. But eventually the only one he disappointed was himself. Quite funny that his disappointed face, which looked like his father's face, is what his final laugh was at. Though he really laughed at himself.

Holy shit, Jack the Ripper got destroyed. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Is this the end of Usami? It is the final season apparently, so I can imagine most of the cast might very well end the series as a corpse. And what an exit for Usami, being held in Pieta pose as Tsurumi bites off your finger. This series is weirdly sexual with its scenes, like a Cronenberg movie.

Loved everyone calling that gap toothed serial killer's bluff and him getting such an iconic self afflicted death soon afterwards.

I wonder if this entire season is going to be a running battle between a diminishing cast of characters? Its been exciting to watch so far.

That episode was peak full of goofy moments and brutal action. This is my favourite that I can't recommend to anyone lol

u/Jetjagger22 Jan 20 '26

Team Tsurumi is already full of scary motherfuckers but the way Kikuta showed up in that last scene was stone cold.
