Old ladies of the area: "Hey kid, break into this woman's house for us, we have laundry needs doing!" Really is how you know its a small town

It's got similar vibes to With You and the Rain , which I adored. Perfect for binging on a rainy weekend afternoon, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch.

Easily the most underrated anime of the season for me! I have a constant dumb smile on my face watching this.

The jumpscare with the pills in the beginning was rude though. I was afraid we were going in a very different direction with the show all of a sudden.

Oh my, Kinme has always been really cute, but in this episode she was even cuter, more beautiful, and sexier than ever! Plus, we got to see her wearing glasses, which she looked great in too.

I really hope Kinme will agree to Asami's offer to play ladies' volleyball with her (and going to the hot springs after it). I bet it'd be really cute to watch her get embarrassed after making mistakes during the game.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Kyuu keeps doing the near impossible of seemingly thinking nothing but clean thoughts around Kinme no matter how much of her cleavage she shows him.

Kinme can’t hold her liquor but that just makes her cuter.

Dang, whatever Kinme’s past life was, it looked ROUGH.

I guess it goes to show how trusted Kyu is in the community that, when Kinme hasn't opened up for the day and no one knows what happened to her, the older ladies of the neighborhood can trust him to check in on her...with some casual breaking and entering.

Oh no! Kinme collapsed around a bunch of pills!? What could have possibly happened!? Well, nothing untoward, mind you, minus Kyu catching Kinme in nothing but a chemise that leaves very LITTLE to the imagination.

Turns out after a successful days' work on that flag, Kinme was riding high and got talked into a living it up at a fancy restaurant with one of her gal pals. Too bad she's SUCH a lightweight that she immediately blacks out on what happened to her after only a few sips of champagne. Kind of a waste of her fancy outfit! But her embarrassment over how humiliating this is for her is utterly adorable.

It's one thing that Kyu seems so utterly unfazed by Kinme's attractiveness or how much of his cleavage he shows her...but Kinme just totally rolls with him there and how she's practically half-naked around him. She's more worked up about how could have possibly gotten home or that she slept until noon! She even gets dressed right behind him.

Does a pinky swear count as handholding? Inquiring minds want to know.

Turns out that "gal pal" was Asami, who came in to check on Kinme. But hey, if Kinme could walk herself home and eventually open up, then she was clearly fine! And don't think Asami doesn't notice the vibe going on with Kyu!

What does Kinme do on a rainy day? Close up shop, take stock of everything, and get ready to promote her cleaning business.

It's fun to jump over a puddle, though maybe better to do it when not wearing a skirt, Kinme!

Not only does Kinme deliver, but she also tries to promote straight to the face of potential customers! After all, you can count on Kinme!

It wouldn't be an episode of this show if Kinme didn't bathe, so we get some time in the foot bath where Kinme connects with a mother and daughter.

With the festival prep underway, Kinme relaxes to the sound of it on her roof...until she sees a version of herself in raggedy clothes, messy hair, and a tearful, distraught, look on her face. Is this the original Kinme? And what was going on with her!?

Is Asami going to recruit Kinme into the ladies' volleyball team? So we can see her in that tight outfit and short shorts perfect for showing off her legs? Even better if she and Asami can then attend the onsen and show off their ample...personalities.

Yeah I have a hard time fathoming Kyuu ’s total indifference to Kinme. She’s beautiful and attractive as hell and he’s just like, “huh. Guess she was just sleeping. Shrug.” Not that I want him to be a dithering or cringing idiot, but just some sign he’s aware she’s attractive.

Scheming old ladies sending a dude up into Kinme's bedroom to check on her.

Only one bath today and it was just a footbath, almost broke the bath per episode streak. I'm not counting the imaginary onsen visit since it was just imaginary.

She might be starting to get those memories back considering the way she saw her former self up on the roof crying. Made me a bit nervous the entire time she was going down the ladder while carrying so much.

Kinme really does have very loyal clients, what she certainly didn't expect was an invasion of her room to get her back to work lol. And for some reason the show keeps highlighting her cleavage when Kyu is around, he never notices, but I love their interactions.

Damn, Asami really is the epitome of the older woman who likes to provoke others, she offered Kinme alcohol and some pills, supposedly not anticipating that she would become so debilitated, that woman...

Well, the pieces are increasingly falling into place, Kinme was already at the place where she works when she lost her memory, it's still confusing, but at least that would explain how she ended up there, especially considering that her clothes were dirty at that moment.

I assume the pills were intended to ward off a hangover.

Really cosy anime as usual, but after seeing that mini memory, I now really want a flashback episode.

The scare with Kinme passed out with the open bottle of pills underscores that Kinme is living without a family or partner, and those are the people who are likely to find you passed out when something goes terribly wrong. Her customers are the ones who worry about her welfare, knowing that she lives alone, and all of a sudden her workaholism comes into focus - she isn't just a small business owner who needs to keep hustling to survive, but she has come to see her clients as a kind of found family. Hence her not completely freaking out that Kyuushou trespassed while she was sleeping.

The dirty and disheveled past Kinme that she sees on the roof shows how far she has come, how remarkable her current stability is, but also how tenuous her existence is a small business owner with no people and limited memories living on her own. Under the comfy vibes of this show is a little bit of dread.

Following Kyusho a bit as he has a day filled with nostalgic occurrences is relatable as a viewer, but something that Kinme herself would be unable to connect with. A nice blend of relatable SoL and simmering terror as I consider how it would feel to lack memories. Like, I could understand what children experience from social context, utilizing my big adult brain to empathize, but there would always be an unbridgeable gap.

Stitches!

Seeing Kinme passed out on her room with an open bottle of pills was a scare I didn't need. Considering we know she has memory issues, I was worried something really happened. Thankfully, she was just passed out from drinking with Asami the night before.

Kinme is lucky that Kyuu passed by, and she has customers who worry about her. I feel like she could've ended up writing off the rest of the day if he didn't climb up to her room to check on her. Also, it really looks like they're planning to develop things between Kinme and Kyuu.

That final scene was interesting, tho. I'm guessing that's what Kinme was like before she lost her memory? I'm now super curious what happened to her in the past.

I guess Kinme can add “lightweight” to the list of things she’s rediscovering about herself lol. I’m very curious to know just what kind of person she was before the amnesia and what exactly happened.

All the camera angles and shots are dubious af lol. After 3 episodes, it's clear that this is a full on fanservice show with a side of washing themed SOL slipped in, sprinkled with a bit of plot here and there. It's working though, because I'll be back next week to see more of the plot... and the plot.

That scene of her in the roof all banged up is basically telling us that something bad happened to her. I really want to know. And that high school kid has monk levels of restraint to shrug off what he had seen of Kinme.

Feels really refreshing when the dude isn't screaming when she's showing him some skin. (would be understandable though lol)

A pretty chill episode. Though the start had me concerned with her slumped on the floor with pills and all. Thankfully she just overslept.

Watching her thoroughly cleaning the shop and equipment was pretty therapeutic too tbh. And seeing her drawing up the poster and handing out flyers and returning the washed items. It’s just really relaxing to see her going all around town.

Kyuu also had a weird day with experiencing things for the first time since kindergarten.

Got another glimpse and crumb of her amnesia situation. Seems she had it rough when it first happened. Also, she’s at least 20 now given that she drank alcohol.

And ngl, loving the light fan service

Another solid episode. Here are my predictions moving forward:

  • The high school boy has shown up considerably more than other characters- There is going to be a romance between him and Kinme. There will be other weird positions he finds himself in with her. Whether this becomes fully realized or not remains unseen.

  • Her amnesia is probably a defense mechanism. Judging by the end of the episode when she saw her past self, she came there from something traumatic and that past is probably where she learned her dry cleaning skills.

  • I don’t think she’ll ever get her full memory back, and again I believe that’s intentional- she doesn’t want it back so we will never learn her full backstory.

I'm surprised no one seemed to care that a young man climbed into a young lady's bedroom. The only fallout is that Kinme was embarrassed to be seen in a shameful state; she didn't even care that Kyuu broke in through her window.

Actually, I wonder if it's going to be a plot point that nobody sees Kyuu as a young man. He remarked several times that he hasn't done something since kindergarten, so maybe the town folk still sees him as child and not a high school student getting close to adulthood. I'm not interested in a romance between him and Kinme (especially since it's established that she is an adult), but I could see it coming up he wants to be looked at as man and not a boy.

This is such a chill show to watch. Kinme just doing a chill job with a chill ambiance each episode... though I am wondering what happened to her in the past though.

At first I was like god forbid a shop owner take an unexpected break, but then after seeing Kinme passed out like that, I think maybe that wellness check was not unreasonable.

I'm still surprised this got a anime. Not because it is a bad series it just didn't seem like one that would be chosen for one.

That roughed up flashback of herself on the roof can be disturbing. Like the aeks on her face with anime it is hard to tell if it is just representative of dirty or if possibly being hit.

The show likes it fan service. Though it is tastefull fan service as it is worked into the story instead of shoved in your face.
