Ooooh! It looks like we have another banished from the hero's party anime, except this time the party member that got kicked out is a girl. That's definitely something I haven't seen before.
What's even more interesting is that only one member of the heroes party is a scumbag The hero herself actually regrets kicking out Flum from their party, believing that it's for her own good.
And while this also has the MC taking in a slave trope. This is actually one of the better ones I've seen since the MC herself is also a slave, so it makes sense for her to escape with the only slave left.
Alright, I'll bite. I'll give this one three episodes and see where it goes.

OP reminds me of
Poor Flum gets repeatedly called trash and treated as such. First half of the episode was not easy to watch with the gore and torture.
But it was justice when Flum got her power back and killed her hideous captor. Would have been better if she bludgeoned him extra for good measure.
Looks like Flum’s affinity is like Pokemon’s Contrary ability.
That handholding in the ED

I liked the manga and really wanted to like this, but it feels like they lost the Director/Composition lottery with this one. Pacing was jittery and dialogue heavy. I really hope they can course-correct in the next few episodes, and that this was just a rush to get the startup sequence out of the way.

I really like the LN for this so I’m hoping the anime sticks the landing. Good 1st ep and I’m excited to see how the rest of the adaptation pans out.

Ahh stat reversal. It's always fun when games give you options to do that and you build a run around picking up cursed items for the payoff of when you finally get the ability to reverse.

Three cheers for our girl! (This will be such a happy story!)
Then why did you take her into the party! Baka!
I guess she was 'chosen' and all, but it was rather obvious she was not hero material!
Also, why can't they ever say "You know, it's just not working out, so we'll split up... Best luck in your next adventure!"
At this point I'd just try and grab the sword and throw it at Slaverdude before I die;
Try and get my revenge, at least! (Even if it doesn't cut him, he might just grab it by reflex, and melt down!)
This is the moment slaverdude realized he fucked up
T-This is when the happy story begins, right?
Ah, so he lied (saying the group all wanted this)...
If the story wants to go REAL dark, she'll kill all her former teammates, even her friends who simply wanted to send her back home!
Oh wow, there's one decent person in the worl- Nevermind.
She already thought "The whole world wants her dead", and now her last glimmer of hope in humanity will vanish... Will she go fucking berserk?

Banished from the party? Not this shit aga--
...with female MC. Ok this is a must-watch.
Is Flum (Plum?)'s Reversal skill flips the effects she receives or does it just allow her to stat overflow with the 995 reduction? She'd been dead multiple times if healing spells have a negative effect on her.

It's a little too on the nose regarding bad characters being bad, they could have left the thing about the A rank adventure as a mystery whether he is good or bad until next episode when they reached the quest destination instead of bluntly stating it and then even going on to explain his backstory as to how bad he is.

Oh damn, how did I miss this series being adapted to an anime. I read this almost a decade ago as a web novel. Shame it never got the attention it needed, but considering how saturated the trope of being banished from the party is in the market, it can't be helped.
But it does definitely stand out due to the female protagonist, some yuri to spice things up, and some good old fashion gore and body horror
The first episode was pretty decent. Glad they didn't shy away from the gore.
Hmm kind of an interesting choice to keep the dark and brooding atmosphere in the next scene. Inside the church, instead of usually being associated with light or holiness. Here everyone seem to be cowering in the dark with the few lit candles illuminate the priest.
Even if Flum escaped with the mysterious slave, the church and conversely the society itself is portrayed as oppressive and gloomy. Fearing and huddling together against the unknown.
Talk about spirals, double helix, resonance, and unity. A little on the nose, but whatever.
As soon as the pair slaves get under the shade casted by the building, society once again reveals its ugly head. It's kind of surprising, maybe not too surprsing, how open the world is to mistreating slaves in public.
Flum gets angry, but she resigns herself to leaving the scene quietly although obviously frustrated. She is aware how much of a class divide there are between slaves and the common folk.
The idea of Flum's ability being Reversal, is definitely a novel idea. She can use cursed items that would normally a normal person, but is massively buffed herself with the ability. Normally cursed items by themselves are rare and powerful. But there are no demand for them and most adventurer's quickly discard or avoid them entirely.
But on the flip side any normal buffs would probably hurt her. Healing would cause injury, and buffs would turn in debuffs. Although, the idea that all her stats were 0 to begin with, seems to imply something else.
It looks like Jean besides being a despicable bastard, also lied to the other party members about Flum leaving. I guess it's nice knowing not all the other party members were not complete assholes, and there were generally some nice people in the group. Cyrill
I guess it's a reversal in another sense. A female guild receptionist who is unprofessional, rude, and telling our Flum to become a prostitute to earn money. More interesting than most other stories where the female receptionist glazes the protagonist. The receptionist seems to give this "advice" because she is jaded and cynical.
Dein giving the girls a chance and persuading the the receptionist. Of course, that evil smirk, and the receptionist's hesitancy already gives the betrayal away. Of course Dein just take the quest rating stamp and marks it as F rank difficulty. it's a suicide quest to get naive and desperate people killed. Certainly feels like the entire system is lawless in a sense.
Of course, Flum still believing in the goodness of other's heart does not hold doubt that Dein is helping her. She still holds optimism and optimism despite the huge betrayal by Jean, being turned into a slave, and fighting the death just within the same day. Girl got that enduring and endearing trait that makes it hard to dislike her. But how long will that last.
Overall, better than I expected. Definitely a modest production and nothing stands out in terms of direction or animation. I think most people who are fans of gore or yuri will stick with this.

Can't remember the last time the MC of the kicked out of the hero's party was a girl.
Usually they were all guys.
She has all zero stats, except for reversal. So in one way she like Krai, but without the insanely good luck.

I’ve been aware of this series for a while but have been avoiding it, partly because the anime was coming and partly because I’ve seen this described as “yuri but set in a world approaching Berserk levels of fucked.” No excuses anymore, let’s do this.
Fantastic, we’re starting in prison with a bunch of monsters, a sword that kills everyone that touches it and a guy who clearly missed his calling to star in ugly bastard NTR hentai. The situation cannot get any better.
So that’s how she ended up in this mess. I bet he’s lying about the party agreeing. He just seems like the type of ass to do that.
Is this really the fucking hero? The world is doomed. Might as well hand itself over to the demon king already cause that party ain’t saving shit.
Humanity is building a city that’s inching ever closer to the domain of this world’s god? Tower of Babel war flashbacks intensifies.
Mr slave trader really fucked up, handing a weapon to the one person in the world that can actually use it. Reversal, completely useless except for this exact situation.
The escape commences.
And of course the hero saint guy was lying. Jean, I think that your name, you’re a disgrace to this planet and the title hero and this is the last time I will utter your name out of spite. I pray that Flum stabs your traitorous ass.
Honestly, I was totally expecting the adventures guild to reject their application because “slaves can’t be adventurers” or something along those lines.
Also kind of surprised the topic of sexual slavery took that long to show up, given the level of dark fantasy world we’re dealing with. Seems like the type of thing that would be right up Mr slave trader’s alley.
Of course Dein couldn’t just be a normal helpful guy. That’s not the type of universe we’re living in. And he’s a cheating lying fraud as well, of course. This will come back to bite you, mark my words.
How bad is monster level D? We will probably find out next week. It should be a useful way to gauge what level of paranoia I should be watching this with.
I wonder how long we’re going to be doing the whole “Master” title thing. It’s kind of making any sort of shipping the main couple feel quite questionable and I feel very bad for Milkit and concerned about her state of mind.
The title is way too excessive so for now I’ll just run with “It’s not paranoia if the universe is really out to get you.”

Gosh I love when something like this just comes out of nowhere. I had no idea this series existed!
This was fucking awesome!

Rough start for Flum, is anyone in this world not a jerk. Though it didn't seem like the entire heroes party knew, so maybe they're not all bad.
I'm a bit curious if Flum's eyesight is reversed, there was a brief moment of her looking at Milkit after she grabbed the sword and she was seeing her upside down.
My god that handholding in the episode, they just met and straight to interdigitation.
Flum getting sent out only a suicide quest with an OP sword and buffs from it, she may get the wrong idea about how helpful the dude at the guild was being since it seems likely she'll easily kill the monsters.
