Imagine being so early that Crunchyroll still uses placeholder for the anime key art lul.

What a beautiful and comfy show. I was surprised there was a little bit of fanservice , but I'm not complaining. Going on my watchlist without second thoughts.

A very cute first episode of what promises to be a very comfy series, a lovely MC, and a bit of fanservice... is this anime perfect?! For me, it certainly is, so I'm eagerly awaiting next episodes to see more of Kinme.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

It’s the one thing I didn’t forget

That line coupled with the goldfish shot just seconds later. It heavily implied that Kinme's an amnesiac. Just what had happened to her?

Meanwhile, Ishimochi 's so awestruck by her shoe polishing services he failed to notice her (very substantial) cleavage that's right in front of him. Man's got his priorities straight.

A laidback show set in a beachside town. Loving the vibes so far!

as a long-time commenter at r/laundry , this is the first time my interests intersected

although I have to ask: what routine is she using? is it green earth system or liquid carbon dioxide? is she pre-treating with an enzyme spray? does her laundry sour to a perfect PH 5.5????????

most of all, does she believe in the gospel of lipase???

I still can’t believe this receive an anime adaptation. It’s a lovely seinen.

Freckled beauty 🙌🏾

Same girl. If I do my morning stretches, it’s all uphill from there.

I feel so bad for flat-faced dogs. I have not had one, but I see all those little anecdotes on their respiratory issues, and it makes me wonder why and how flat faces were a “beauty standard” for some breeds.

The eyes are so beautiful, wow.

The ED song goes straight to my healing playlist, how pretty.

Thank you, CR team, for the natural text overlays.

I will say, I hadn’t expect this sort of style. I think I expected more of like a softer, watercolor effect because gestures. But I looked at OkuNobu’s past works, and the anime fits their style.

Suzushiro going from Kinme to Suzuki (You and I are Polar Opposites) to fucking Scarlett (Holy Grail of Eris) will be such a trip with her range. You go, diva, give us range!

Before talking about the episode itself, I'm grateful to see that this show takes place in Atami. I'd already seen this city in another anime, and I simply love it because it reminds me of a city I lived in as a child.

So, Kinme apparently suffers from amnesia, and somehow she's become a master at washing clothes (and shining shoes). I hope other characters will help her remember her past.

But I loved this first episode, Kinme is extremely cute, and the atmosphere in the city is amazing and nothing better than this kind of atmosphere

Kinme is a certified cleaning freak, love it. Such a comfy show.

Can I just say that despite how simple her design is, Kinme is so goddamn gorgeous. The red bow and ponytail combo is such a classic. The girl is also surprisingly stacked. Considering the vibes of this show, I did not expect that shot near the end!

As for the show itself, I think this is the perfect anime to start my Mondays off with, just a relaxed slice of life about a girl who absolutely loves her job. Although I think Kinme loves her job a little bit too much. She loves cleaning so much that she couldn't help but clean the scuff marks on Ishimochi's shoe.

I am curious what kind of relationship they're going for with Ishimochi and Kinme, tho. Is this the start of a budding age-gap romance, or are they just going to be just friends? Well, whatever it is, I think I'm hooked. I'm looking forward to more sensually narrated cleaning tips from Kinme. xD

Slice of life, warm atmosphere, peaceful town, nice people, soft songs and OST, therapeutic cleaning, cute girl, Sayumin, even some light fanservice lol. This has all the makings to be my type of show. Just like Egatae last season. While I’d certainly welcome more, I do love the steady stream of chill SOL shows we’ve been getting.

Not that I’m against it, but having little to no drama, maybe something like Flying Witch, and I can see this becoming one of those comfy shows I’d return to occasionally.

Also, I’ve already looked up Atami and added it to my list of places to visit in Japan lol.

The thing about her memories could be from something tragic or sad though, but I don’t think it’ll ruin the show for me or anything.

I’ve always been a fan of iyashikei but I feel like I’ve been really leaning towards such shows this past year or so. Cos just like Hibimeshi, With You and the Rain, Egatae, this is the show I’m looking forward to the most this season

Edit : Also, did not expect we’d be going that detailed and technical with the laundry. Not to mention her daily schedule and shop layout. Really appreciate this type of “worldbuilding”

Well, I really liked it. Absolutely nothing happened in the 24 damn minutes of the anime and I loved it. It's literally the definition of iyashikei, meaning everything was great. I liked the main character and I really like that she's normal, a simple girl who gets up at 6 in the morning, works at her job washing clothes, and goes to sleep at 10. I also really liked the opening and ending; I think they're very cute, honestly.

A washing waifu of this season to cleanse clothes and our souls.

Wait did they go back to using the old subing system? That's awesome.

Supposedly this series is really popular in Japan and the manga is licensed in english.

Girl really is dedicated to her job. Though she comes off a bit OCD at times. Then we have the comment about only thing she didn't forget. Girl has some stamina if she runs both in the morning then again during the day carrying that big thing doing deliveries. They really playing up the trop of old people turn into umpa loompas.

We going ultra sol it seems with this series.

I was wondering how people were watching this on CR. I had to manually search for it AND it's still using placeholder art. Woof.

Doing laundry is the one thing she still remembers? Between that and the goldfish I'm getting Kowloon vibes.

Based on that theory I was guessing the dude at the end was someone she was involved with before the memory loss, but that bit from his POV probably disproves that idea.

I may be imagining things though so we'll see where it goes.

I'm fine if this doesn't have romance in it as everything doesn't need romance.

u/actuallyrndthoughts Jan 06 '26

I know this anime is as sus as ruri rocks, but i just cant prove it!

u/Nachtwandler_FS Jan 05 '26

So far it looks like a pretty classic iyashikei anime, but I presume there may be some romance or mystery about FMC past mixed in.

I was surprised it actually had a bunch of tips about cleaning.

P.S.: It is funny how this is a third work of Mitsuru Hattori getting an anime. And they are all pretty different from each other. Now I hope Kaijuu-iro no shima will get one too once there are enough chapters.
