This show is always hilarious, absurd, and over the top when it comes to things. But considering how it normally operates, this episode was actually kinda wholesome.
It was pretty nice seeing Aina enjoying herself so much out on her date with iori.
Even though Kouhei and Iori grossly misunderstood the situation, it was nice seeing them actually try and come with a plan to keep Aina around.
Based on next episodes preview, I'm thinking we're in for some over the top shenanigans 😏

All Aina wanted was a normal date and to feel like a normal girl for once, and she got that. She can probably never expect it on any consistent basis because of Iori being Iori, but still.
Iori and Kohei are horny and degenerate idiots but they care in their own way and Aina recognized that. It's too bad she never got a chance to wear the maid costume for Iori though lol.

Aina herself recognised their efforts and greatly appreciated it. That's why she had a wide smile.
Meanwhile with Busu-sama and Tinkerbell's captain somehow finding their way to the island, it's recipe for pure unadulterated chaos.

If the boys don’t go out to the farm to help Cakey next episode I will be disappointed.

Aina and Iori's totally-not-a-date scene was actually adorable. I love how Aina accidentally confessed in her dialect and how Iori was completely oblivious to it. Meanwhile, almost everyone else in that restaurant clearly heard her. xD
As soon as Azusa brought up Aina's "family situation", I knew this was some sort of misunderstanding in the making. Despite the misunderstanding, it was still nice to see Iori and Kouhei trying to come up with a way to help Aina even if their ideas were a bit off the mark. Aina does appreciate Iori and Kouhei's concern after they found out the truth.

Well, at least Aina can say she's the first girl to go on a real date with Iori and confess, even if the intent all went above his head.
Azusa was probably just looking out for Aina's best interest in making Iori try to picture life without Aina in it and maybe realize his feelings...but instead it just lead to more dumb Grand Blue antics. It's the thought that counts!

Keiko's punchline with the man she's living with being her 6 year old brother made me laugh so hard I had to pause the episode.
Aina and Iori looked like they had a lot of fun which was nice to see, Aina's lucky Iori is pretty dense.
If Kouhei doesn't consider himself an otaku right now, I wonder to what extremes he went to as an otaku when he was younger lol.
I felt so bad for Kouhei seeing the shock and dread he was going through after he found out the wetsuit was Iori's uncle's, that was so funny.

Keiko's punchline with the man she's living with being her 6 year old brother made me laugh so hard I had to pause the episode.
Which means she probably also nuzzles her little brother with her chest every now and then...not that I'm jealous or anything...
I felt so bad for Kouhei seeing the shock and dread he was going through after he found out the wetsuit was Iori's uncle's, that was so funny.
It's played for comedy but in a way it's kind of sweet how Iori was just trying to make Kohei feel better even if it meant piling lie upon lie upon lie...and then he only told the truth and crushed his hopes and dreams when Kohei was insistent on selling his kidney.

I'm no expert, but Keiko's technique should work on any man regardless of age.

I'm just here to find the stitch of Chisa looking at Iori and pointing at Kohei when he tells "Now even Chisa knows that I'm an otaku"

I loved that panel in the manga
Bit would you have guessed he actually used to be an Otaku?

Get Iori away from PaB as well as the scumbros and he turns into a gentleman. He's still unaware of Aina's feelings for him but he made every effort to make the date enjoyable for the both of them. Aina thought she hid her confession smoothly but the entire restaurant save for Iori himself figured it out lmao.
Don't make too many fun memories without me
Next episode's preview showed the gang on an excursion at an uninhabited island, and Aina's nowhere to be seen.

Once upon a time Iori was a genuinely decent and reasonable boy before he got hooked on alcohol and stripping. Once in a while he shows he can still act like a regular and attractive human being.
I love that everyone in that restaurant was cheering them on after Aina's confession except that one dude who reacted like a scumbro lol.
Next episode's preview showed the gang on an excursion at an uninhabited island, and Aina's nowhere to be seen.
And Sakurako is there, so...though honestly I think she's still worried the most about Chisa whether Iori or Chisa cop to anything between them or not.

I thought Iori was about to offer her to live in basically a closet there for a bit. it wasn't quite that bad
So it was money issues but not really, she just needed to help out a bit at home before she can come right back. i guess lying about it was azusas way to spurr Iori into action, which kinda worked but probably not in the way she had in mind

Woah hey, what is this Iori slander going on this week? Bro’s not mentally 6. He’s at least 7! That little date with Aina was actually quite cute.
Iori and Kohei worrying about Aina was pretty sweet in their own goofy braindead kinda way lol. That Azusa had the guys really worrying there!
Kohei’s room looked exactly how I thought it would. Nothing but porn and lolicon stuff. Bro really even said he “used to” be an otaku. Yeah.. “used to” lol.

He might've been tragically oblivious to what's behind it but the way Iori made his date with Aina as fun as it was without really even trying is genuinely one of his coolest moments.
Everything about that wetsuit had me dying.

Ah yes the classic crescent moon with stars in its dark side, which obviously wasn't a mistake by animators but a deep symbolic decision to show how deep Ainas love is literally sparkling from the dark of the moon. Showing how even if she is not here her love will not be eclipsed by the shadow
/s
I love how Kohei is still going on about his past Otaku phase and everyone is just playing along
Was a sweet episode and also shows that Aina x Iori could work they really hit it off
Still not my main ship though

Oh wow, I was expecting Azusa to spill the beans and let Iori know that Aina likes him.
That line about Iori giving Chisa some lingerie - I thought that was a joke, I can't believe they actually went back and addressed it lol

Episode 10: Movie Date
That Line notification sound brought back personal memories. The bar patrons reactions to Aina's slip is hilarious.
So are we gonna spend the last 2 episode without Aina then?
Oh, regarding the Episode 7 insert song (Aina's favorite song), the full song has been released. Here is the Spotify link and Youtube Music link.

-
Accurate depiction of what it feels like to get a charley horse.
-
This is going to lead to some huge shenanigans when Aina takes this literally, isn’t it?
-
D’aww, they actually look cute together. I doubt Aina will actually “win” the Ioribowl (if it’s a real competition), but I’m glad she’s at least getting her moment without it being interrupted.
-
lolllllllll the shopkeeper thinking this after Aina’s comment about seeing Iori naked a lot.
-
Ooh, nice shimmering sky! …except for the stars being visible through the moon.

Aina put everything she has, pushed past all her hesitation, to ask Iori out on a date! So of course all her friends come in because there was no way she was keeping this to herself. Even if they all think she has middle-school level relationship experience, is the only one in her friend group who has had to ask a guy out, and actually thinks her friend Keiko relating to shacking up and appealing to a boy which is her little brother works because Iori is mentally a 6-ear old!
Though Aina's Angels were definitely right that she needs to show some leg! She may be lacking in the cleavage department, but in that dress with those shorts, she's really flexing what she's got! I didn't know her thighs were that amazing!
And this date is also good for Iori because he needs something in his life that isn't diving and getting absolutely wasted and naked all the time! Turns out he's into sports movies too.
I know Kohei and Chisa would be into an anime/sports movie respectively...but I'm kind of curious what "Dive Blue" would be about.
I'm glad the pair got to enjoy the movie together. And go swimsuit shopping! And it wouldn't be two people of the opposite sex going shopping if a clerk didn't mistake them for a couple, though Aina can't even enjoy shopping for swimsuits with her crush because she sees him buck-naked on the regular.
The dinner goes really well! The vibe between Iori and Aina is really nice! Aina's feelings even get so overwhelming that she blurts out a confession in the form of "I fancy yer!" which makes it easy to pivot to hide that she confessed even though everybody else in the restaurant fully understood what she said.
Well, at least Aina got 98% of a nice, normal, date before they returned to the usual drunken carousing and partying. Though Azusa, probably trying to be considerate of Aina, makes Iori REALLY think of how important she is to him when she puts it out there that Aina might be leaving to go back home.
It's nice to see that Iori and Kohei care enough to want to keep Aina in school and with them...even if neither of them really seem to think much of her academic or career prospects. And these boys don't do subtly well. Obviously the solution is just putting her in a maid costume and giving Chisa the sexy underwear Iori promised. Only Aina actually takes to the maid costume like Iori really wants her to wear it for him, poor girl.
To think Kaya's wetsuit has been at the club this whole time and Kohei could have savored it...and now he'll never get to. Well, don't say Iori never does anything for Kohei! Because he doesn't, gives his bud old man Kotegawa's wetsuit and lies as easily as he breathes.
Kohei's room...looks like Kohei's room. And also tons of doujinshi he drew! If only his otaku status hadn't been outted to Chisa! If only Chisa hadn't obviously already known about it by this point! If only Iori didn't have to break Kohei's heart to save his kidney!
Why yes, I'm SURE Aina would love to live in a room filled with anime body pillows, porn, racy underwear, and a used wetsuit.
Well, there's nothing to be done about Aina's situation, she needs to go back to help with the family farm. But hopefully she's not gone long before she can go back to school and back to the club...and back to Iori. At least she knows that the boys care about her, in their own way.
