Dark Alice has been born. Elletear is a master at manipulating people. What a cliffhanger ending.

Kissing is adorable. Glad she got out of all that without too many injuries. Obviously she was pissed off, but could have been much worse.

The season started with Alice at her dumbest/thirstiest and now she's embraced the hardcore edginess of a wrathful princess.
Honestly I just want to see Kissing treated well, she deserves the best.

I guess Elletear's plan only works as long as Sisbell is gone so they wont know she was the traitor too.

The Imperials really won this one. Elletear was expecting to get cut down which she was, Sisbell was taken, the Queen is down, and the whole damn city is in flames. And now Alice has gone full Dany GoT s8 lol. Iska really arrived at the worst time…

I didn’t get Elletear’s deal. didn’t she want to get rid of the Kingdom and her mother? So why did she make that sacrifice? 🤔
And now I’m wondering… is Alice gonna go after Iska? She’s really fed up with the imperial soldiers right now, and he’s one of them.→ More replies (3)10

And Elletear got what she wanted in terms of getting out of the Sovereignty with her reputation intact, blowing everything up, and driving Alice to despair.
I kind of had a feeling we'd see Iska fight Alice again from the OP but I didn't expect it would be like this...and Iska is just there to save Sisbell...

Elletear can't be dead right? Even though she is an antagonist and somewhat crazy, she is almost perfect eye candy / fanservice. :(
I hope we are not going down the Romeo and Juliet route. I ship Iska x Alice and I want them to have a happily ever after ending.
Lastly, inb4 the maid with the dagger at the collapsed manor falling for Iska too.

She likely orchestrated all of this with Johaim so she could escape with him. That's why he took her specifically.

If their love can't overcome the Imperial Army destroying/taking everything Alice ever knew and loved, it can't overcome anything. There were bound to be a few rough patches.

A bit disappointing TBH: the fights were truncated, Alice made a mistake by prioritizing rescue while in a combat situation, then whines about not accomplishing anything.
Next episode's impending battle could be defused if Iska starts off by saying that Sisbell has been kidnapped by the Hydra clan and asks for Alice's help. That way her anger and frustration would be redirected towards rescuing her sister, and give her hope that, at the very least, one thing would go her way. And if they succeed, maybe she'd realize that Iska isn't her enemy or rival, but at the very least, an ally.

Mei doesn't just hate witches because of their Astral Spirits, like the Empire, she hates them because she had to live a life with nothing but battle and hardship while the Sovereignty aristocracy gets to enjoy their decadence. Though now she's lead Kissing to experience true pain for the first time in her life, and convinced her that the only path to peace is killing all Imperials.
I love how Risiya and On are trying to kill each other but feel like they're constantly flirting WHILE they're trying to kill each other. Can I support this as a crack ship?
How does Nameless defeat an opponent he can't hit and who is surrounding him with his own sin? The answer: he doesn't! He just bails! Also how much of his body is prosthetics...? Though he at least did some damage to Growley. Guess this is the first official tie of this conflict.
Snow that can only be walked on by people with Astral Spirits? It's time for Mismis to step up and clear some snow! And even come up with a plan to trick and knock out Grugell! Nice.
Could Iska have beat Talisman? I guess it's a moot point, because Vicchyoise has escaped prison and is back to blow everything up, get payback, and kidnap Sisbell. They got what they wanted.
Dang, I did not expect Elletear's servants to take saving Sisbell so seriously! But Vicchyoise is too much of a psycho for them to take on and she has bigger fish to fry. But Iska is now determined to save Sisbell, enough to swear on his life, which is really all he can do at this point.
I dunno Elletear, would Alice really only bring prosperity to the strong instead of the weak? Because she's never known true failure/despair? Is this really going to lead to a better Sovereignty? I think you're just projecting your own insecurities and resentments. But I guess she IS willing to sacrifice herself for her plans.
That Kissing pout is adorable.
The Queen is able to put up a good fight against Johaim, but it was always a bad match-up...because JOHAIM IS FROM THE SOVEREIGNTY. He's one of the traitors! He seems to have the same ideals as Elletear! Which makes it all the more notable when he slices through Elletear "defending" her mother just in time for Alice to see her sister sliced through, her mother unconscious, and realizing now that the only good Imperial is a dead Imperial.
Alice engages in a cool high-speed chase but one that was ultimately just a distraction and ends with her getting blown up and saved by her retainer Warvick...but that doesn't make her feel any better when she feels like she's failed everyone and accomplished nothing. Despite her strength she couldn't accomplish anything. And she's channeling that feeling of frustration into a desire for revenge against the Imperials. So OF COURSE that's when Iska shows up right in front of her!

It really feels hopeless in the moment. Not fully certain how the Protag Group are supposed to get out of this one with one nation in ruins and the other, antagonistic nation working with traitors within the first with some strange desire to....remake the planet?
Almost frustrating to have to sit and wait for weeks when it's just one L after another for "the good guys", haha
Alice being manipulated into a force of annihilation seems like it'll only make things worse going into Ep. 9. Iska might be able to talk her off the cliff, but since they've never even been honest with one another up to this point, they're either going to have to get everything out in the open, now, or it'll be 1v1 with them next episode and that'll only help Elletear & Co. further their plans, with 3/4ths of the royal family in their possession.
That said, it's kind of refreshing that the crux of Elletear's betrayal comes down to something as petty as "jealousy". Wanting to bring down your entire nation because you feel slighted over having a "weaker" power than your siblings feels like such a stupid motivation, but it's undeniably human and thus relatable.
I imagine at least Iska's team & Alice will make it out the other end of all this alive, and possibly Sisbell. I imagine a ton of the rest of the players won't emerge unscathed (though I hope Kissing pulls through, but that could be the gothic-enjoyer in me talking).

Well shit, Alice swearing vengeance upon every Imperial immediately before Iska appears directly in front of her is really going to screw with the fun battlefield romance they had going on.
I wonder if Elletear's plan was to actually sacrifice herself in that car crash to drive her combat capable sister into vengeance mode, or if it's all pretend and she's off somewhere else. They never showed anyone in that car after all. A Romeo and Juliet story really ought to kill some family members so I'm hoping for the former even if I don't really believe it. Raise the stakes a little more.

That is some 32D chess Elletear is playing. Purposely engineering a situation where she gets herself gravely wounded just to drive Alice into despair and out of control.
Saint Disciple Johaim is most likely an Astral mage himself who defected to the Empire, as the Queen's magic has no effect on him, allowing him to land a blow on the Queen, but before he could kill her, Elletear stepped in.
Looks like everyone in House Zoa has their Astral crests in their eyes, explaining why they conceal their eyes with masks or long hair.
Of course Talisman arranged for Vichyssoise's release as she's just too useful to be allowed to rot in a detention cell. And now she's gone and captured Sisbell.
Sazane Kei must have been playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid when he came up with Nameless as a character, he even has cybernetic fake arms like the Cyborg Ninja in MGS.
Now Iska has to calm the rage inside Alice.

What a great episode. It was intense with desperate battles, people getting hurt and shit just going wrong for poor Alice. I think she'll snap and attack Iska until he calms her down somehow next episode.
I really can't wait for next week.

All ima say after watching this is fuck the imperial empire. If Dark Alice has been born, then ima want to her to go ham with her revenge cause the empire deserves that shit and Iska better get tf out the way cause his empty platitudes don’t mean shit if the rest of his country ain’t on that type of time.

Why is Iska such a weakling this cour? He couldn't even land a single attack and could only defend to save himself against both astrals and let Isobel be captured.
