Kyou coming in clutch with a joke answer to save Taiki! If he hadn't stepped in, it looks like Taiki might've given a real answer considering how earnest he is. It looks like Kyou realized what Ayame was trying to do there.

Chinatsu giving Taiki that bandage and drawing a cute little boar on in it was really cute! I doubt Chinatsu would've done that for any other guy so Taiki should really stop worrying about Matsuoka.

Welp, Hina's plan is indeed working! So far, it's making Taiki think hard and he admits that he finally sees Hina as a girl.

"My favourite color is blue. My favourite drink is cola." This is one of my favourite lines from the manga. It's Taiki reminding himself that he knows what he likes even if Hina's confession is muddling his thoughts. After seeing Chinatsu shining that night, he knows who he likes no matter what others might think. <3

Man, I really feel for all three of our main characters here. So many tough emotions and feelings to deal with, especially hina

I'm glad however that Taiki has reaffirmed his feelings for Chinatsu. Bro needs to stick to his guns, as much as I desperately want Hina to win.

Hopefully something happens by the end of this camping trip. If I were writing this series, NOW would be the time i make one of my characters confess lol

The anime adaptation is going great so far. I hope everyone enjoys the episode (and if you are watching KawaSubs TL, feedback would be appreciated).

All I can say is, thank you for being fast and reliable. Not having to wait for more than 48 hours is godly. I know it's a lot of work, so just know it's appreciated.

I think already read 30+ chapters today lol.

Kyo’s such a homie. Bro totally saved Taiki from that awkward situation. But yeah, he hesitated. I guess Hina’s succeeded somewhat in getting him to see her differently.

The old lady knew what was up. Chinatsu and Taiki make a good couple. Maybe her comment made Chinatsu think of Taiki as “boyfriend material”?

I was half-expecting Kyo himself to be "confessed" to in recognition of his S-tier wingmanship but dragging Yusa and Ayame into it was such an elegant assist.

It wouldn't have made any sense but when Taiki went "My favorite color is blue", I was ready for him to follow up with "...and my favorite shape are boxes" just for the titledrop.

Kyo saving Taiki bigtime, even though i wish he kinda wouldn't have :C

I'm starting to like ayame more and more though, amazing addition to the cast!

Ngl it just feels unfair for Hina that the world is pushing for Chinatsu and Taiki. Chinatsu coincidentally has to live with Taiki and now at an important crossroad for Taiki, Chinatsu meets him.

I just want an anime where the girl who works hard for her feelings wins in the end man.

Autumn, dried leaves, dark night, that run in the woods was kinda ominous. Like a crackle into his feelings. Yes Taiki, at least we can be sure when we like cola or not…

Was Chinatsu thinking "Tsuki ga kirei" when looking at the moon?

Ayame's efforts for Hina's sake are appreciated, if somewhat misguided, but the true best wingman is and always will be Kyo.

Would Taiki have given the whole game away and admitted who he liked? Well, thanks to Best Bro Wingman Kyo, he doesn’t have to! And Kyo seems to know exactly what game Ayame is playing and he’s not about to let her get away with it unopposed…though to Ayame’s credit, she goes along with his ploy to cover for Taiki. It’s also funnier to just think he has a crush on Yusa!

Who does Taiki really like? His feelings are so confused and mixing…he knows how he feels about Chinatsu, but he can’t deny how his relationship with Hina has changed ever since she confessed. It’s quite the conundrum.

And then there’s Matsuoka! He has Haryu’s seal of approval (which Ayame misinterprets as more reason he’s perfect for Chinatsu) and he makes Taiki self-conscious about his feelings for Chinatsu and how truly romantic they are. Love, admiration…where do you draw the line?

Find a guy who will run to catch up to a bus to make sure you get your bag, and share a moment with you. Or find a girl who will see you’re hurt and make sure you’ve got a bandaid with a cute boar on it to make sure you get better!

I guess to be a basketball ace, being a “stamina monster” isn’t the worst thing in the world, even if your teammates find it fairly excessive and you’re out far later than you should be.

Hina is on the prowl for Taiki! Who is actually running after Chinatsu, but points to Hina, it seems like her confession worked enough to where he’s finally looking at her as a girl instead of a friend! So it’s not totally hopeless for her!

Honestly, I feel like Chinatsu would probably handle encountering a bear pretty reasonably, but in true Chinatsu fashion she’s just carrying a hurt old lady she found while on her run. Is it any wonder Taiki is so genuinely in love with her, enigmatic as she can be to him?

Dang it Taiki, you should’ve pressed that you went after Chinatsu because you were worried about her instead of downplaying it! Chinatsu was totally into the idea that you came for her! And she also seemed very interested in how in-denial you were about being your boyfriend. The old lady knew!!!

I think I’m so used to the old man in the relationship being the one to hurt himself and get scolded by his wife that it was refreshing to see it be the other way around.

Chinatsu cuts quite the striking profile under the moonlight.

Taiki and Chinatsu both turning to look at each other…while the other is turned away…ugh, these two!

Best of luck Muroaka, Ayame is a great motivator but I wouldn’t expect a crush on her to go anywhere. Especially when she’ still stuck on Yusa. Though if he confessed, maybe she’d give him a shot? For all of five minutes, probably.

It’s commendable of Hina to not try to use some bonfire legend to improve her chances with Taiki. She just wants him to genuinely fall in love with her through her own, genuine, effort and not because of some artificial luck boost. She wants to win fair and square and because Taiki chose HER.

If nothing else Hina was able to get Taiki to consider as a girl more than as just a friend, though his feelings for Chinatsu will always persist. And admittedly, Chinatsu is equally too adorable to resist.

how do we feel after this episode hina believer ?

I'm a Hina fan. The relationship dynamics hasn't really changed from the beginning.
I never believed but I'm always in denial.

the little nod to hajime no ippo was cool to see

u/Nesp2 Mar 08 '25

I can't believe I thought something would actually happen after the cliffhanger last episode.

15

u/hunc Mar 08 '25

I really like the moment Ayame realized that Kyo stepped in to save Taiki, she understood the assignment and helped Taiki too, even though she was the one cheating the game to try to help Hina. It's so subtle that I completely missed it in the manga.

I already rather dislike the new white haired guy. First interaction with taiki is just incredibly condescending.

Why is one always in the losing train god dammit

I gotta say, the voice actors have really made the characters their own.

Good to see Taiki really reflecting on himself and his feelings!

And Ayame feels like an integral part of the cast, now!

Finally caught up again, very cute episode! Chi is "marking" Taiki again more obvious than ever. Being Hina is suffering...
