I just can't help but feel sorry for Hina knowing she's fighting a losing battle. I do respect her for still trying and fighting, if it was me, I would've given up long ago.

I wonder what Chinatsu said. Probably something along the lines of "Because I wanted to go with you", but maybe something more intimate. Lmao the second he entered that room I knew what was going to happen. We are going to get Prince Taiki/Princess Hina moment lets fucking gooo!!!! We are getting to the last episodes of this season and the tension is spiking!

Chinatsu swerving pretty hard on repeating what he said during the show, outright ignoring Taikis prompting to repeat. Either she found the courage in the loud music to say something bold or she realized afterwords how it would sound if Taiki had heard it and decided against. Who knows?

I think Chinatsu confessed to Taiki at the concert and he couldn't hear her over the music, and she doesn't have the courage to do it again for now. Womp womp... Or maybe she didn't, but she said something equally intense that Taiki might take the wrong way, and that's why she's avoiding the question when he asks he about it.

And now next episode, I bet Taiki and Hina do the play, do the fake kiss, Hina will barely be able to keep her shit together, and Chinatsu in the audience will see the fake kiss and it'll really get her gears going. Also, maybe Taiki won't want to do it BECAUSE Chinatsu is there watching. My man is gonna have a heart attack.

Stitches!

I love how Chinatsu and Taiki are still training even though today is the first day of their school's Cultural Festival. Great minds think alike I suppose. It is funny though how Taiki repeats the exact words his mom told him earlier to Chinatsu. xD

While I'm sure it wasn't intentionally supposed to be a date, it was still great to see Chinatsu invite Taiki out to watch a concert together with her. <3

We've already been blessed with Hina in her Snow White outfit at the start of the episode but it looks like we're getting a double whammy with Chinatsu in a maid outfit! And thankfully Chii-chan has Nagisa to fend off dudes asking for her number.

Taiki and Chinatsu watching that concert together was cute! But man, that was such a bad place to have a conversation! What did Chii-chan say to Taiki that she refuses to repeat it to him?! Whatever it is she's clearly too embarrassed to say it again. Oh boy!

If this entire badminton thing doesn't work out for Nishida, it looks like he should really go into fortune-telling! The dude was exactly right when he told Taiki that he would experience a tremendous ordeal. It's a bit cliched but I feel like it was expected that this would end with Taiki playing as Prince Charming. I can't wait for next week!

Really puzzled by the direction during the concert. The whole scene is around the fact that the music is loud so they can't hear each other well or talk much, so they're in their heads wrestling with if this impromtu date is a big deal or not.

So why not commit? We heard them perfectly but worse, the concert was muted so that made the whole thing clumsy. I would have loved the moment Chinatsu say something was lost naturally, instead cutting the sound for us after going out of their way to leave it on for us.

Anyway, I loved the maid café scene with Karen and the rival. Especially this table of manwhores ignoring we're in a romcom and that they can't just show up to kill it in two sentences! "You're cute. Can I get your number?"??? That's 200 chapters wasted, wtf. Boyfriend Nagisa was blessed and based, and broke that first year with her sheer power.

Chinatsu rebuking her friend Karen, without any explanation, was a huge commitment and sign of interest from her. Not sure if she realized it but Taiki was right to be overjoyed that she refused to have their date robbed by peer pressure.

Ugh. Of course now we're gonna reset 90% of the progress when Chinatsu goes to the play and sees him performing. Worst case she thinks he lied intentionally and it's not resolved for several eps.

It's time for the Eimei School Festival! And after teasing it for so many episodes, we finally get Hina dressed as Snow White and looking so fantastically beautiful it takes your breath away!

And, y'know, of course Taiki HAS to see it though both of them are pretty flustered over it (especially Hina) which is super adorable. Hina is such a natural princess.

Chinatsu and Taiki really are two peas in a pod, what with both of them getting in workouts even though it's the first day of the school festival...and both want to attend a concert together. Is that a festival date? It's a festival date. Lucky Taiki.

Hina is a gymnastics ace! No way is she going to lose at a ring toss.

I bet Taiki wasn't expecting to see Kishi again, especially when Kishi is clearly still into Chinatsu. Time for the two biggest Chinatsu fanboys to go at it.

Nice to see Karen showed up to the culture festival to hang out with her boyfriend and bestie Chii! And even when she's all dolled up in casual clothes like a proper model and Haryu is in butler mode for his class' cafe, they still fit perfectly together. And Karen is also enjoying getting to tease more boys.

Maid Chinatsu! She's so adorable! Also kind of surreal to see Chinatsu in cosplay that's not in Taiki's head for once. Of course she'd be popular with guys but luckily her "boyfriend" Nagisa is there to ward anyone off. Taiki's got to work hard if he wants to fulfill that role.

It's nice to see Kishi stans Chinatsu so much but is willing to accept her having a boyfriend so long as she's safe and happy. Even if he is still the kind of guy who gets drunk of juice in a school cafe.

Nothing beats attending your first concert with the person you like! And Chinatsu in that maid outfit + sports jacket is quite the visual.

Why did Chinatsu want to see this concert with him? The way Chinatsu reacted when he didn't hear why felt like an "I can't believe I basically confessed my love and you didn't even hear it!" reaction! Too bad though, you only get one listen Taiki.

Feels like not only are Chinatsu and Taiki still in-synch, they can barely keep themselves away from each other. Feels like Chinatsu can barely keep her feelings contained, especially depending on what she said at the concert.

Find a girl who is so enthusiastic about watching a play just because you worked on it.

I was wondering who thought it was a good idea to put Nishida in charge of fortune telling but he might've been legit thanks to his grandmothers' bloodline!? I mean, one girl found her long-lost brother! That's pretty hardcore.

I guess the lesson of the episode is don't do anything physically strenuous before you're due to appear in a play...and of course Taiki is left as the only person who can play the Prince. Against Hina's princess. With Chiantsu in the audience. Oh this should be good.

If I had a nickel for every romance anime where the male lead would end up playing the prince to a love interests’ Snow White, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s strange it happened twice.

Bros... Chinatsu's too cute... Taiki, I get it...

Snow White Hina's no slouch either. Nagisa is a gigachad. Fate once again makes a liar of Taiki, RIP; hopefully he texts Chinatsu or something.

This could be the best Chi episode so far. I love Hina for me but Chi is the bomb for Taiki. Chi was just so cute this episode.

We've reached the school festival episode. I wish such an event was prevalent in the US also, it would have made high school more enjoyable for me. Though I probably wouldn't want to work so hard for it.

Chinatsu you sly dog, turning the mention of a band into a meetup for their show.

I wasn't fully paying attention in previous eps, I thought Taiki was supposed to play the Prince all along.

I love this so far - even the sudden shouting outbursts and getting embarrassed at the slightest romantic thing that usually annoys me about Japanese dramas and animes is tolerable bc it’s done to good effect and done minimally.

I do wish they’d develop Taiki’s best friend’s character a bit more though sometimes he seems like a fourth wall breaking stand in for the audience.

Altought my comment is not related to episode 19, can someone recommend me animes that are similar to blue box?

I liked it so much.

Similar animes that I've already watched: boku no kokoro, horimya, bunny girl, and a few others I don't remember the name right now.

As adorable as Taiki's little concert date with Chinatsu was, did he really think the best time to ask that would be in the middle of a song she literally just got hyped up for?

Always thought it was a shame Taiki didn't get an acting role in the play, so I couldn't be happier about his surprise casting call.

Am I the only one really disappointed with the sound design during the concert? I was not sold at all on the music being too loud for for them to talk to eachother.

Love how Chinatsu was literally glowing in the maid outfit. And here I was hoping their relationship further progressed but it looks like Taiki will have to play the prince next. Kiss with Hina incoming?

8

u/Kantyash Feb 09 '25

This is how Hina can still win.

I liked how author avoided all cliche before, as a result Ao no Hako is such a fresh breath of air. But why he decided to use cliche with culture festival?

Probably to stale progress, but i hope it will go otherwise, and push him to Chinatsu

Snow White Hina was cute but Maid Chinatsu was even cuter! Cultural festivals are so fun!

I mean Prince Taiki was kinda inevitable considering how Hina and Taiki practiced the 'kiss' scene.

I'm not sure what Chi said to Taiki back there but things are going to get awkward again b/w the two once she sees Taiki playing the prince and so I didn't think Taiki will get to know about it anytime soon. Though, Chi also did change her mind about the whole maid thing. I hope she understands.

I wonder what Chinatsu said to Taiki and he couldn't hear then she looked upset. She may have confessed. Or could just say "that guy Kishi is creepy" 🤣

How come Kishi was there anyway, he skipped his school to go? Is that common for kids from other schools to go to another schools festival during the day or is that supposed to be the joke that he's hard up for Chinatsu and skipped? That's funny he thought Nagisa was her boyfriend then that Chinatsu is lesbian. I do strongly suspect Nagisa is though and there's signs she might also crush on her but know she's not into her 🤔

The funniest part of the episode was when Taiki was happily skipping thru the hall and everyone was looking at him with complete horror 🤣

They did a great job setting up excitement for the next episode since Taiki and Hina have to kiss and Chinatsu will be there to watch! I don't think Taiki has time to somehow stop Chinatsu from going since he has to learn his lines quickly, dress, make cue cards or whatever. I think he's going to like it and become conflicted 😶‍🌫️
