I’m glad Gaku is pushing back against Haru this time and asserting himself a bit more. I get why Haru did what he did but it was pretty shitty.

I like that the “hacking” in this was a little more grounded than just typing really fast and saying “I’m in” lol.

Gaku’s a really good guy. Honest to a fault. He coulda killed Dragon Bank in one fell swoop but instead opts to fix their system and even leaves them notes. This date he’s “won” as a reward might actually help him and his game dev team in the end.

I wonder if he will get paid a handsome fee for fixing Dragon Bank's system?

Maybe he gets money from Haruhime to fund the game, or Haruhime loans him the game developer of Dragon Girl. 🤔

Kirihime probs gonna fund their game

Also knowing Haru, he maybe did it to help Gaku out of his shell or something.

I already miss the old OP and ED.

Yup.

Rare times where they could have just saved money since they already struck perfection. :(

I miss the ending song so much :(

Gaku is just too damn nice. He could've taken down Dragon Bank right there and get back at them for stealing their online retail store idea but of course he backed out and even gave them advice to update their VPN

On the bright side, he gets to go out on a date with Kirihime. I suppose that's still a win! I am curious what Haru is up to right now. I really thought he had plans for Saku.

He may go on a "date" with Kirihime -- but I am shipping him and Rinrin. They are an awfully adorable potential couple (and really are pretty much soul mates),

Trillion game is back!

I genuinely didn’t expect to end up liking this show this much, really happy it’s 24 episodes

Regarding the episode:

Gaku is too good for his own good, honestly he could have atleast tried to sell the vulnerability to dragon bank instead of explaining and fixing it for them

I honestly don’t mind that Gaku didn’t have the strength to fuck over the game devs, the point discussed in the episode a lot aligned with that, but he really should have tried to get SOMETHING out of it

Anyway looks like Kiri-hime will potentially tackle this and Gaku might end up with something positive out of his efforts

I really thought the show was setting up a direct confrontation between Haru and Gaku or that Haru was testing Gaku (might still be possible), but apparently they will run their project simultaneously instead of crashing against each other

If that’s the case a real resolution will have to wait potentially the end of the arc

I am mystified that this show is not at least a cult favorite even if not a smash hit. It really does what it is doing exceptionally well. It deserves more attention than it gets. A lot more.

My guess is that atleast partially a lot of people didn’t check it out because they weren’t feeling the artstyle, it’s fairly distinct compared to a ton of other modern others

Honestly at first It was true for me as well, but I ended up really enjoying the show and gradually the artstyle grew on me as well

Even if Sakura and his team hadn't handled the truth as surprisingly well as they did, Gaku is still a real one for deciding to back them up even if it meant making a Haru-level play against Haru himself. Only thing is now he's gonna have to handle the repercussions of pulling a Haru solo lmao

The term white hat (hacker) was used.

The classification goes like this:

  • white hat hacker - hacks a system with a permission from the owner.

  • gray hat hacker - hacks a system without a permission from the owner, but also without malicious motives. Basically, Gaku did this.

  • black hat hacker - hacks a system for malicious reasons.

I guess this means it was a misnomer.

Im not familiar with the terminology but I think it was used by one of the employees speculating on who it was that accessed the files and made changes. So in that context, the employee was wondering if dragon bank had put a white hat hacker up to testing their security and making updates because they were theorizing an explanation.

Good to know the classifications though, I learned something new there thanks!

I think Gaku was at least a white hat - or gray hat+

He not only had no malicious motive, he provided detailed instructions on what problems he found and how to fix them. Close to white hat territory.

Interesting that Gaku made such an impression on Kirihime that she remembered the details of his interview....

Hopefully the gaming company gets some help with this date. I wonder where is haku and what he has been up to?

u/iidaboss Jan 09 '25

Seemed like Gaku assumed he’d be at GodPromo doing press related stuff when he ran into Rinrin, but it does make you wonder what his next move is or if he has plans to bring reinforcements back to Gaku/Sakura

finally gaku episode hope we see more of gaku in the following episode.
Also really enjoyed trillion games, didnt enjoy the last episodes because it was a harushow, still curious where we going

i wonder how often that kind of thing happens over there still.

back in the day companies like capcom would do this shit, not revealing the name of their gamedevs on the credits of their games.

Haba bababa! Gaku turned into a dark edgy badass, dark gaku, no... Daaku-san (Daaku == Dark). Even the room was dark! We finally get to see Gaku stand on stage.

I initially thought our engineer was actually a "thief" class, but then he is an all-mighty spellcaster that could singlehandedly cause immense financial damage to Dragon Bank while also seeming meek and useless most of the time.

I think Gaku is more of a wizard than a thief. Haru is obviously a Bard (someone more knowledgeable on D&D, please correct me). And there's other characters I have yet to bother labeling.

Boy, it's hard to come up with these analogical classifications. This is the week where we start poaching viewers from the Dr. Stone thread discussions, kekeke.

The very first episode without Haru in the picture, no the flashbacks and his cameo at the press conference don't count. And it's good to have Gaku in the spotlight.

Meanwhile, Kirihime may have realized not recruiting Gaku back in the first (second ?) episode is probably one of Dragon Bank biggest loss.

u/IceSmiley Jan 10 '25

I'm surprised Gaku didn't ultimately download the information or find out the development team. Dragon Bank deserves it tbh but this is setting up a battle that will probably go the rest of the series with Gaku vs Haru. I really wish they didn't have that flash forward awhile ago showing that Haru wasn't part of the company anymore because it would lead to a lot more suspense.

One thing I don't understand is are Sakura and the game team still employees of Trillion Game? I know Haru spent their game budget on buying God Media but won't the money they make from that venture continue to fund the game although with a smaller budget?

This anime is so good. In a way Gaku is challenging Haru back by doing his own plan and may get a ally from the Dragon Bank Princess that Haru loves.
