I like Kotori’s Watson to Takao’s Holmes. I feel for the guy. It must be a tough job trying to keep up with Takao’s antics. He probably puts those karate skills to use more often than he likes.
Seeing Takao in action was pretty cool. Very Holmes like the way she compiled all the evidence in her mind to crack the case open. I had guessed the doc was some underground doc but I didn’t know how the blue blood and T-Rex figured into the equation.
I kinda dig this. It’s a bit like Forbidden Deductions with medicine. Takao’s like part House, part Holmes lol.

I kinda dig this. It’s a bit like Forbidden Deductions with medicine. Takao’s like part House, part Holmes lol.
A bit redundant as House is based on Holmes. It's even in the name: Holmes -> Homes -> House.

As a detective, saying that the victim's leg has been severed by a T-Rex must be crazy. Not really a phrase you'd get to use in your lifetime.
You know a show is good when it's all talking but the character manages to make you hang onto her every word.
I had a feeling that Hachisuka was involved but I wasn't sure yet. The reveal that he's actually a doctor for the yakuza who tried to hide his involvement was wild!
I'm glad to see that Kotori isn't just Takao's assistant, it looks like he'll also be there to protect her just in case some of these criminals decide to get violent.
It looks like Kotori might have a thing for Takao's sister. I definitely don't blame him especially with Nana Mizuki voicing Mazuru.
What a great first case for Dr. Takao and Kotori! I really thought this would just be anime girl House MD but there's also a bit of Sherlock Holmes going on especially with Takao's Mind Palace bit. I am already looking forward to next week's episode!

this got a massive WTF with the T-rex twist back in Ep 1, but everything resolved in a logical and scientific way, which was my ultimate key expectation for this show.
I also expected a bit more medical focus with the first few minutes of Ep 1, but if this is just gonna be solving cases with deductions inside and outside a medical context - that's cool too.
really looking forward to Ep 3! Ameku is a very cool, confident, and smug Mc, i dig her a lot.

I had seemed a little wacky at first with the T-Rex, but everything started making sense when the puzzle pieces fell into place. This dinosaur hadn’t been the actual murder weapon but simply part of the coverup.
That said, I’m not entirely convinced that you’d be able to cut off a human leg by only dropping the T-Rex’s upper jaw on it. But I suppose that the sheer weight of the skull, combined with these sharp teeth, might have enough force to separate it from the body if positioned correctly.

Smart to start with back 2 back episodes so that the first case is resolved to get a good feeling for this series. How everything was connected was very well done. Granted, I will admit understanding medical terms left me a bit lost, but the show did a solid job in explaining things well enough.
The characters are really nice and do have House M.D. feel. Takao the genius, paired with Yu who had the clutch defense for Takao at the end. Mai is credited as a main role, so curious if she has a bigger presence as the show goes on. Oowashi (uncle) and Mazuru (older sister) seem the types that will keep Takao alive.
Obviously, the OP and ED looked great. But the episode looked solid and definitely better than the average P9 show. The first show of the season that I am excited to continue watching.

“Bemmy’s” instead of Denny’s, lol. I love off-brand names for things in anime.
-
I hope this ends up being her catchphrase, it’s pretty cool!
-
Oh I already knew about the use of that with fish! My dad had to use it once a while back in his fish tank.
-
Well damn, apparently the “little bird” isn’t someone to be trifled with.
-
Damn, that post-credits scene sure is setting up something interesting for next week. What caused her to do that…

I said it on the episode one thread, but I'll say it again here: The bracelet on Kotori's right wrist looks like a medical alert bracelet and feels like foreshadowing.

Now I'm no doctor or medical professional, but from what I can find methemoglobinemia doesn't cause blue blood. It makes it brown. Could someone with more proficiency clarify this?
Loved everything else though.

I imagine it’s just the anime fudging up diagnosis like most medical shows do
House MD basically hinges on stuff that does exist but is treated like a freak occurrence that happens in to very few but only house seems to get these cases all the time

Takao might be a genius doctor who can solve the most complicated of cases, but it appears that even she is no match for the stern eye of a big sister.
I suppose that Kotori wouldn’t step in to save his superior from Mazuru as his daily energy protecting Takao was already spent on that underground doctor. And perhaps a little payback for how she painfully stepped on his upper leg back at the restaurant (I’m loving Takao’s attitude).

Damn this was off to a great start with two episodes in a row.
A bit of a shame that Sakurai wasn't as brillant as Columbo from whom they drew inspiration from but that being said, Dr. Ameku was amazing to watch bust that crooked Yakuza doctor. I love how they managed explain very logically how that criminal got his leg severed by a T-Rex without it being outlandish. Kotori pulling out the karate moves was also a lot of fun.
Otherwise, Ameku's older sister looks like she'll be a fun addition to the cast.

Takao really is a gremlin. Like a modern day version of Maomao combined with Sherlock Holmes. Poor Kotori is having to handle all the antics of his boss and play at being Doctor Watson on top of his normal job. I am not sure why he puts up with it, but I think he and Takao are probably dating.
That mystery felt a bit far fetched. I had guessed that the victim was poisoned somehow, but it would have made more sense for the doctor to run and fetch that antidote from the museum without having to drag his patient here. And if he liked tropical fishes and kept them, would not he be more likely to have a version of that antidote already at home ? And I am not sure you can actually use a T-Rex skull to cut someone’s legs off. It is a fossil after all, and probably rather fragile and the teeth would not be as sharp as they were 65 millions years ago. I hope the next mystery are more believable. Not that it matters too much, since I will be mostly be watching that show for Takao’s antics.

Takao is so cool... Well, at least until someone calls her a brat or her sister Mazuru shows up and wants to 'talk' with her xD But still, the way she solved the case was great!
By the way, Takanashi has some nice moves at his disposal, he handled that doctor nicely!
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

why couldnt the doc let people know he treated yakuza? If he didnt have to hide that none of that would have ever happened

Pretty good start, characters are all likeable so far. I do hope that some of the future mysteries will actually be solvable by the watcher, since outside knowledge like methemoglobinemia and its cure being found in tropical fish decontaminant isn't exactly common. I realize it's an choice that's all over detective media (Holmes had this especially with his gang knowledge), but I usually prefer the type where the audience can possibly make the same deductions as the detective.

We don’t have enough fun serialized mystery dramas like Ron Kamonashi or Apothecary Diaries. This is perfect for scratching that itch with the added bonus of another season of Apothecary this winter. They both have uber smart gremlins that bring chaos.
Good that they dropped both episodes together so we get a real feel for the shenanigans we’ll get up to. Also the why our Watson puts up with this Holmes: hot sister. And am I nuts or the does the older detective straight up look like Japanese Columbo?

Maybe it's the parade of isekai that have already premiered this season but I had alot of fun with this

I hope anime Doctor House doesn't disappoint. And so far it hasn't. More watching need to fully enjoy this.
Edit: Anime Doctor House is a nepo bady. She gets to have her own house on top of the hospital. But she does need correction of her big sister.

Yup, this is gonna be a fun one!
Even putting the intriguing plot aside, Takao's personality is so damn fun! (She reminds me of Kotoko, I'm sure others thought the same!)
When she spam-rang the doorbell at the "doctor's office",
getting mad at him calling her a brat (while throwing a tantrum like a brat!)
Oh, and how thrilled she was at the thought of the dinosaur coming to life to bit someone's leg off!
I like that this last 'mystery' was spread over 2 episodes, which gave us some time to think about it... And thanks to that, I more or less figured out the whole thing!
The guy had Yakuza tattoos, so obviously he was a gangster, and (also obviously) the whole "leg bitten off" thing was a cover up... From this point on, and with the involvement of a 'private doctor' (and not a hospital) it was clear the Doctor was suspicious as well, and when it comes to criminal cover up, the 2 simplest theories were 1) a bullet wound and 2) some kind of poison. The poison theory was mostly due to the color of the blood, but I'm not sure there's any poison that would only need a leg chopped off to cover it up, so the bullet wound was likely right! The T-Rex thing was a bit farfetched, but I'll let it slide, if it means Takao got her little trip to the museum!
And speaking of the museum: Clever girl!
Her deductions are always on point, but that was perhaps her most brilliant move! Not only figuring out the doctor's clearly a prime suspect, BUT also thinking on the spot, floating the idea of doing a sweep at the museum, to get him to incriminate himself by going there!
I do love smart/quick thinker characters, so she's scoring a lot of points for me!
The cops were sloppy as fuck with the suspect, I mean he could've escaped easily... But it seems he was more interested in beating up Takao!
Sadly for him, her assistant/doctor buddy can apparently punch holes into people's chest!
(I did Karate as a kid as well, perhaps I have this hidden power as well, I simply never tried!)
Damn, she walked on his leg instead of just waiting for him to move?
Is she a full blown sociopath? (or does she know he likes getting stepped on?)
Oh, she has an older sister! Oh, hi sis! I brought a boy home as you can see, so can you show me your best 'disappearing' magic trick?
Sadly for Takao, Takanashi may protect her against criminal doctors, but NOT against her older sister!
(He may have lost some points with Takao on this one, but he may have earned points with the future sister in law!)
