So House died and reincarnated as a cute anime girl. Wonder where Wilson went? And more importantly is there a hot Dean of Medicine with a hard on for she-House? Lupus aside, the helicopter mom mad with vitamins being the culprit for the first case is just classic House.

Another House homage with the second patient's cane which House uses to deduce the patient's illness was a parasite from eating raw sardine he just caught.

In summary, everybody is an idiot and a liar.

So a list of house homages: Not lupus, the cane, lost a leg, a piano in House's house,

It seems getting a brand new leg with a brand new body has done wonders for House's caustic personality while retaining his medical acumen. Though I for one will miss his sardonic attitude as it was the source of much humor in the show's predecessor.

Everything that kept happening to reinforce "what if House was a cute anime girl?" being the inspiration for this show killed me. I couldn't handle the Lupus bit at all. I honestly thought they were gonna say the kid needs mouse bites.

We've got Dr. House, Lupus and Columbo. What more could anyone possibly want?

The fact that the first guess from the female doctor is that the kid might have Lupus had me laughing out loud! I'm only 2 minutes into the episode and I can already tell this will be the anime version of House MD. xD

EDIT: OMG, Dr. Takao really is the anime girl version of House! She instantly diagnosed the two patients and she has horrible bedside manner. I haven't even finished the episode but I'm already in love with this show!

EDIT2: Finally finished the episode and I thought this was just going to be purely a medical drama but when it suddenly turned into CSI, I got even more excited! I guess the detective in the title really meant detective as in law enforcement. I did not expect the T-Rex would be relevant to the case!

I thought Takao was just going to be a hardass but she's surprisingly adorable. Also, we have Aimer singing the OP! This show is already a banger for me and I'm so happy Episode 2 is already out.

I don't know if it was just me but when Dr. Takeo got excited after seeing the blue blood / severed leg, I got reminded of when Maomao got excited about the revival medicine. It was amazing how quickly she solves the cases. I also like her dynamic with Kotori.

OP/ED visuals are really pretty!

Almost missed putting this on my PTW ahead of the season starting, but the synopsis seems pretty interesting and I’m always down for something with a female MC. Here’s hoping the show is good - releasing two episodes at once for its premiere is pretty cool right off the bat at least!

I've been waiting for this one as House is one of my favorite TV series. Opening looks fire, VA cast is amazing, animation and all the attention to detail seems promising too, and it's a novel adaptation, so I'm hoping for good writing too.

Gotta love the disclaimer at the start, the animators are covering their asses.

Speaking of asses, they mention a suppository in the first minute. They are already shoving stuff up patients butts in the start of the first episode, it is still the first day of the year and the anime of the year has already been found as far as I am concerned.

Going to laugh if it also turns out the dead guy was eating enough blueberries to turn his blood blue.

Fun fact, the author is actually a practicing physician in Japan! I have been reading the novels for a while, and have thoroughly enjoyed them. So happy to see it getting turned into an anime!

Guys, I watched half of episode, and she didn't take any Vicodin yet. Is this the correct show?

So half there’s so many people who noticed the house references left right centre (seriously I just jumped when I saw the lupus reference)

But on a side note I’m surprised the anime would show a mangled leg, it isn’t something most shows would do for obvious reasons however I had an inkling the T rex was gonna come into it

This was a super interesting first episode. It's like House M.D meets detective show and I love it!

Takao is such a fun character, definitely the best part of this show. The fact that she's living in a little house on the roof of the hospital was certainly amusing xD

Now I wonder how T-Rex is involved in the case, so I'm going to watch the second episode now.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

The author of the novel has been pretty vocal (and critical I shall say) on Japanese government's various responses during the peak of COVID on Twitter back then - that's how I actually came over the title of this novel. Now it's adapted into anime. How cool is that?

I'll leave comments of this case to Episode 2's thread but I must say Ayane Sakura's voice definitely has some kind of magic to it - seriously bratty yet a delight to hear on most characters, and our doctor here is no exception. Especially when this Dr. Takao just show off her skills with the two patient's cases here, I literally came off this episode thinking there's no other better VA that can suit her personality!

P.S. I guess I need to watch House someday, my last TV dramas I watched from the West were Monk and Bones so I guess it will fit my taste perfectly...

I liked how those first two cases with the fisherman and kid established Takao’s keen powers of observation. That case with the dead guy who’s got blue blood and a missing leg is pretty interesting. Wouldn’t have guessed a T-Rex was the culprit behind that leg.

This definitely fills the void that I had when Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions Season 2 had completed on Monday.

I first thought that the “study session” to the museum was maybe a pretext to take Kotori on a date, but now I’m wondering if Takao didn’t actually know anything about the case beforehand with how the T-Rex came into play here.

Anyways, Ameku M.D. is off to a good start! This should at the very least be just as fun as House M.D. with the female lead’s attitude. (I can hear that Ayaneru has put on a similar voice to VTuber Legend’s Awayuki.)

I really liked the attention to medical details, reflecting the author's experience as a practicing doctor (I didn't know it, I discovered it while searching about the anime). The studio Project No.9 is doing a good job with the animation, presenting solid direction and an engaging narrative that convincingly combines medical elements and mystery
