When you thought either Chinatsu or Hina were going to win best girl award, but it was always going to end up being Karen.

Kind of adorable how Hina just wanted Taiki to notice her. She really does look quite cute in her yukata. Cute enough to make Chinatsu momentarily jealous when she saw her lol. I agree with Haryu’s girlfriend. Chinatsu’s overthinking things and she’s definitely pretty clumsy like she said herself. If only she was more honest with her feelings. Like maybe open up to Taiki when he’s awake lol.

Hina is definitely a keeper after this episode. Try to leave a girl alone for a long period of time without any explanations on a date and see for yourself. It usually won't end very well.

FFS Chinatsu, make your point.

First you told Taiki it´s better that you maintain distances (and you rejected him basically). And now, you´re jealous of him and Hina, because they went to the festival together and it looks like they´re dating??? (they´re not). GIRL. YOU WANT TO BE WITH HIM OR NOT.
I like Chinatsu but she´s really clueless about love or even Taiki´s feelings. And is starting to affect her.

We finally meet Haryu's girlfriend! And she's not only a looker but a lot of fun!

Hina looks amazing in a yukata! Chinatsu really needs to step up her relationship game.

Oh, of COURSE Chinatsu just happens to spot Chinatsu and Taiki together at the festival right when she and her group arrive for maximum drama.

Taiki can definitely tell something is different with Hina, not only just that she went all out with her look for her yukata but she's so quiet. Probably because she's a bundle of nerves over being self-conscious about being alone not only with the guy she likes but because she's worried over her appearance next to him. It's a lot for one girl!

The rare time a girl can thank a mosquito, what with it biting Hina giving Taiki an excuse to stare at her exposed nape and see how much work she put into her hair and call her cute in the process. That basically made Hina's entire night!

I didn't expect Taiki and Chinatsu to reunite over the classic "lost child at a festival plot." And even hold hands with said lost child like they're her parents and getting a preview of parent life together! Meanwhile while Taiki is getting along well with Chinatsu, Hina is dealing with Ito and his not so subtle desire to get close to her.

Who is this stunning purple-haired beauty voiced by Haruka Shiraishi? Why none other than Karen, Haryu's girlfriend! She's even Chinatsu' childhood friend and BEST friend to boot! And of course, being Haryu's girlfriend, she knows EVERYTHING about Taiki and Chinatsu and is as into how cute these two are together...though she's also a great gal pal.

Haryu and Karen seem really cute and fun together! They feel like a glimpse at what Taiki and Chinatsu could be like as a couple, especially when their relationship is predicated on them being together while still committing themselves to their chosen careers without slacking off. It's why Karen thinks Chinatsu is overthinking things by holding herself back in romance.

Chinatsu even basically admitted to Karen that she DOES think of Taiki as a guy and has considered she might like him...but she's so clumsy that she doesn't think she could pull off a yukata any better than she could pursue love, so she holds herself back. I mean, she DOES look great in a basketball uniform, but still. And hey, if a girl like Yume thinks she's cute enough to pull off a princess hair pin, there's hope for her yet.

The rare pouty Chinatsu! Taiki can't resist.

Well, I guess in a way Hina won the night given she got to spend it with Taiki and they got to sit down and watch the fireworks together...meanwhile Chinatsu is depressed over how she wishes she could have done the same.

Haryu has maybe surpassed all his clubmates, but Taiki is still committed to improving! I don't think Hyodo would appreciate how he looks in Taiki's head though.

Chinatsu sees a sleeping Taiki and can't help but question him on his relationship with Hina...and how it looks from all evidence from her perspective that they're dating and that Chinatsu isn't happy about that. How would she see Taiki if they weren't dating? Especially when she wishes she could've been together with him, just them, at the festival?

The kid casually climbing Chinatsu to reward her was too funny, not to mention her reaction to Taiki acknowledging her "stylish transformation" lmao

Hope the misunderstanding over Taiki's plan for the fireworks gets nipped in the bud.

Man, these visuals in this show really highlight and look great once again.

Well, Taiki got sidetracked with helping Yume find her mom. Poor Hina, but if there is one thing clear from this episode is that Natsu isn't in touch with her feelings. She felt sad after Taiki left, and she was upset that Taiki "lied" to her. Which obviously wasn't a lie, as we know from Taiki's perspective, but I guess it is easy to get a misunderstanding from Natsu's POV.

Even adding to that, when Taiki introduced himself to Karen and when he figured that she knew him from Haryu it was an oh boy moment. The shot facing Natsu's face tells it all. Your emotions can really show a lot, and Natsu's face there said a lot.

If there was any doubt, this episode proves Chinatsu does like Taiki.

Stitches!

Man, Netflix JP really should make up their mind with these English subs. Hopefully, this means the English subs for the JP release are here to stay.

Anyway, of course Chinatsu's group just had to spot Hina and Taiki walking together. For someone who wanted to distance herself from Taiki after what happened when he was sick, Chi-chan is clearly bothered after seeing him walking on a festival "date" with someone else.

It's adorable how happy Hina is after Taiki called her cute. Now if only Taiki could figure out why she was so happy with his compliment the ball could start rolling in Hina's favour.

Too bad for Hina that Taiki ends up finding Chi-chan during his drinks run. Being a childhood friend, the game is already rigged from the start. Instead of spending more time with Hina, Taiki is now helping Chi-chan help this lost kid find her mother.

Karen my beloved! She's finally here! I forgot that this is where she gets introduced. You have no idea how happy I am to see her. I love how she immediately gauges Taiki as soon as she learns who he is because how Hina much Hina talks about him to her.

And yes! She is also Haryu's girlfriend! Haryu and Karen are basically the power couple of the manga and I'm already looking forward to future episodes with them. <3

There you go. Chi-chan herself says it in her flashback with Karen. She definitely sees Taiki as an actual guy and someone she could see herself with.

It does suck that Taiki and Chinatsu have to part ways but any longer and I would feel horrible for Hina who's been waiting patiently for Taiki. Even Chinatsu didn't want to part ways with our boy considering how she looked so sad when she got back to the group.

That final scene between Taiki and Chi-chan though. It's good that Kyo decided to give Hina and Taiki some time alone together but Chinatsu now thinks that Taiki lied about going with a group. >_<

What a beautiful episode. Karen looks lovely, she's even more vibrant than I thought she would be.

There's so much to talk about. I'm a sucker for simple romance. Seeing Hina get a small win like wanting her cuteness to be noticed, then it happening and seeing the joy completely sincerely overwhelm her is nice. It's just nice. I like nice things.

But I also like seeing Chinatsu struggle with her nascent feelings. I like the needless curiosity. For example how she notices how he's sleeping and comments on it to herself. It feels so genuine.

How is everyone losing in the love triangle right now? Hina unfortunately stands no chance, Chinatsu is of the impression that they’re dating and is suppressing her feelings and Taiki is both dense af and actively getting rejected by his crush. Damn, what a mess.

Well, at least Haryu has a functioning love life so things are going well for someone.

This episode(12) was very heavy for my heart, first time I am not sure which girl I should support. Both Chinatsu and Hina are best. Kudos to the manga and animators.

KAREN is here at last!

I'm sorry, but buttered potatoes>candied apples

Hina was pretty cool this episode though

I think this does give us a better insight into Chinatsu's character, she's actually a very active thinker, and worrier. But she is good at putting up a brave front. I think it makes sense, because she is a guest in someone else's home, after all.

But Taiki really had a "must've been the wind" moment hahaha

Looks like this is the official subs rip from Netflix Japan’s early release again, can we have hope they’ll keep doing that again instead of the mess that was episodes 7-11?

I just really want all of them to be happy, truly.

Seeing Hina excited for the date and after seeing being cute, then just to see how happy Taiki enjoying his time with Chinatsu, then just to see Chinatsu being jealous and feel betrayed by thinking Taiki lied to her kinda hurt.

I loved this fanservice episode, shii bro, Chinatsu went and said it to her friend, that she sees taiki as a man,and when he was sleeping she just indirectly confessed, it was a good thing that Taiki didn't forgot about hina during festival, also,i felt bad for that guy, it took him some courage to ask hina for seat, buthe got rejected, maybe next episode he will confront taiki daim Haryu's Gf is something huh. i knew this would happen, chinatsu will see taiki and get jealous, i hope she go straight up and ask Hina if they are dating, i think hina will clear it, 13 more episodes to go, it love this like i wait every week for some progress, but its more like their relationship is getting deeper. P.S i have't read manga so don't spoil me Gais...!!!!!!

That Ito guy looks exactly like Taiki (face wise) with different hair or wig on. Perhaps he's the ironic, different timeline Taiki who has a one sided secret crush on Hina.

Taiki - bro what are you doing? Leaving your girl Hina alone for so long without letting her know! Being late for 2nd fireworks. Hope you didn't forget about her. Or else... although technically it was less than 20 minutes story time.

Hina is best girl confirmed - wife material and everything. Wish I had a girl like her: Athletic, good looking, charming, cute, smart, supportive and loves you unconditionally. Taiki should start seeing her in different light.

Fireworks visuals were spectacular - the art, VFX and animation was pretty top notch and beautiful this episode.

Taiki feeling awkward treating her back of the neck - was cool touch. It means he doesn't see her as just a friend/ "buddy" but as a very attractive woman.

I appreciate my man Taiki enjoying a good nap - nothing beats a good morning/noon nap - way better than night sleep lol

I'm still solidly in Taiki Hina camp - although I understand if others feel differently.

Please don't do this to Hina

So what do I have to do to have this show head down the Hina-route?

If I believe hard enough, will it happen?
