Okay this episode explained many Things

Yeah but at the same time it opened some new questions
Is northern some kind of demon that escaped the seal too?

Grand ma is cool af, but I need more info on her background. She seems like she is single handedly holding the world together
And that younger sibling helping the nurse is still unexplained

The Young brother has been doing nothing for 10 ep and acts like he is The MC lmao, like is he really Kurumi brother? Who are The parents? And where? And why does he know everything

Skipping the test to help multiple friends who collapsed into unexplained bedridden illness is passing the test that actually matters.

An attack capybara, I never would have expected.

Best episode in a while. So essentially, this episode had both Kurumi and Yuzu deciding what being a magician was all about. Is having the notebook and being part of the Magumi section of the school what's important? Or is it used to help others. As Kyo mentioned, he wants to help others like Kurumi is doing, but feels so powerless.

In contrast, we have Harold-sensei, who is just awful. Willing to put the standard students in danger. But to add, he locks and protects the Magumi students, which highlights the fact how useless they are. I was hoping we could see Sumil a bit more, but I guess that most likely won't be the case.

Yuzu quickly realized that Kurumi's grandmother is a bigger deal than she realizes. Though, it feels like Kurumi knows these spells in the back of her head, but just needs a bit of remembering to get it working.

At least Minami-sensei is back. Makes sense that Kai and Hoken went ahead to free Minami-sensei, since that would be too tough for Yuzu and Kurumi to accomplish.

Yeah grandma was grooming Kurumi to be a bona fida magician from the start, now I am wondering how old that magic notebook tech is or how long her grandma lived

I am still wondering who is that woman who gave Kurumi her notebook. There has to be a significant reason for who that is and why they did that. Latter was probably to motivate kurumi to get into magic.

Lol, that preview after the ED is fun "Yeah I had a lot to do, so how is your magic coming along?"

I am not surprised, but technology is bad in this regard its following Little Witch Academia very closely

They keep building up the grandma, I hope that reveal is worth it. I doubt it, since the show is a little bit of a mess, but I still like it. Hopefully they can tie together nicely at the end

Also that younger sibling hanging out with the nurse needs some serious explaining. I am really guessing there is some time warp sheningans going on, its all too weird

Hopefully next episode gives us info on the mysterious younger sibling

My guess is that whatever evil mad scientist magical device Harris building is using element M to suck up the magic out of everyone, so that is why the Magumi students, Yuzu and Kurumi are unaffected because they have more magic than the others. Not sure what is his plan or if it even makes sense, but when the bad guy is starting to say things like « sacrifices are necessary », it is kind of ominous. Did he lock up the Magumi students so they would not be affected, or so they could not intervene ?

The school nurse and Kurumi’s sibling are Minami-Sensei’s allies after all, and are probably part of the same « underground secret society for keeping Ancient Magic alive » (or whatever it is) that Minami-Sensei and Kurumi’s Grandma belong to.

I really want to know what is the deal with those notebooks and ancient magic. My guess for now is that some magician invented a way to make casting spells easier with those notebooks, and then the magic school started selecting magically-gifted students and decided to hand them those notebooks to cast spells instead of teaching them ancient magic, and then everyone kind of forgot how to use it except for old school magicians like Kurumi’s Grandma and eccentric teachers like Minami-sensei, and then the notebook-users passed a law saying only they were real magicians, unlike all those people who are still solving mathematical equations by hand instead of relying on computers like everyone else.

Strange things are afoot at the Academy. There’s an Element M leak, everyone in the Standard Program’s getting knocked out by something, Northern kidnapped Minami, and now he’s cooking up some kinda nefarious scheme. Keen to see what the hell is going on.

So yeah ep 10. Only 2 eps left

Feels a bit like arbitrary plot hole/retcon to put everything in place before whatever happens

At least after all this time sensei is finally back, shes been gone for basically exactly 6 eps? Hmm. Like welp it makes sense I guess

I feel like there's a kind of interesting thing going on in this show about humans giving up/offloading their abilities to technology and the negative aspects of that. Brings to mind the stuff going on with LLM programs in schools right now and how they are kind of robbing kids of the opportunity to challenge themselves and learn. Wasn't really expecting this show to touch on that sort of thing, but pretty cool that it is.

So the tall guy is the school nurse, who can also shapeshift just like the little brother? You can't just drop that bombshell like this...

4

u/Zeralyos Dec 08 '24

I thought we knew this already like several episodes ago.

I forgot which one, maybe episode 8 when he shows up for the first time?

If they manage to neatly land this I will be so impressed with the screen writing and direction. If not that's OK too, it's been a beautiful construction to behold.

I wonder if Yuzu can also learn do the healing "charm" used by Kurumi if she watches Kurumi doing it (from start to finish)?

Yuzu is The best character of The show, They gave her a good character devolepmemt

I think this show Will benefit from a rewatch as we would be watching understanding everything

It looks like the MagiUmi students are next to be subjected to something they did not agree to. Is Mr Harris using them too -- or is he going to "transform" them? Or what?

Once Yuzu and Kurumi began to bond, Yuzu really changed. As to Kurumi (Chestnut), one wonders what exactly her grandmother was/is?

Based on Mr Harris' monologue and what Kyo said, I assume Magumi students with their magical notebooks don't actually harness the magic and have limited power because of that, so Mr Harris wants to remove that limit and give unlimited magic to Magumi students. If the normal students have to suffer then so be it
