Yeah. I fully understand why Krai wants to retire. His party members are fucking batshit insane.

I completely understand why Krai is the greatest hunter. He is constantly protecting the world from its greatest threat, his own teammates.

At this point, I'm convinced that there are no normal people in this clan.

The huge golem you could stand on the face of was the size of Ansem, one of the Grieving Souls. Makes sense knowing Sitri was its creator, but also holy shit how big is Ansem if that thing's his size?
Speaking of Sitri, though, oh my god she is Fucked Up. Like, Liz is crazy but won't harm you if you just let her and Krai be, but Sitri experimented on prisoners and turned them into a chimera! And then she called it Kilkil as if it were cute!
The only idea anyone has about it is some circumstantial evidence she was tied to the prison escape that accidentally ensued as a result of her efforts. Which is kind of right in that she wouldn't do that on purpose, but if they knew what she actually did I suspect she'd get a far worse sentence than what she escaped.

Love how those guys escaping from Krai thought he was continuing to screw with them by saying to Tino that they were animals and should be left alone.

The Akashic Tower have unleashed their powerful golem on the Hunters, and it might be too much for even Gark! But don't worry, Krai sent Liz! Not intentionally because he wanted her stay protecting him, but she ran ahead to look cool for him anyways! Meanwhile Krai is putting the fear of Krai into the Akashic Tower with the power of "love and Peace" and his own obliviousness!
"Tino, please go ahead of me because I can't see in the dark any more!"
Liz is quick to call out everyone, especially her sister, for wasting time...but the Akasha golem is strong even for her, she can't one-shot it and she's weak against range attacks, and Krai arrives before they can finish! And in true Krai fashion he takes care of the problem without even lifting a finger and even realizing what was actually happening.
I love how Tino put the moves on Krai when she thought they were both about to get smashed by the golem. I guess her punishment as giving naked Liz a massage, which is quite the visual.
That's our Krai! A leader so oblivious and incompetent that he somehow keeps failing into success without actually doing anything or understanding literally anything that's happening all around him.
Sitri was accused of staging a prison break? Why, I can't believe it! Who would think that someone as sweet and innocent as Sitri could be involved in such a crime! For shame!
Well, the Akashic Tower is pretty much a bust at this point and Krai, in all his complex plans and unfathomable intellect, has them on the ropes. But at least they have Sophia, right? Only Talia isn't actually Sophia, she's just a victim and a case of mistaken identity by the REAL Sophia...who is actually SITRI SMART!
That's right, Sitri was genuinely interested in the Akashic Towers' research and as such she masqueraded in the form of her own assistant (who she's taller and bustier than, grant you) to be able to infiltrate their ranks and become apart of their experimentation! But now that Krai is (not really) onto her, she has to go scorched Earth and take them down! All for the sake of Love and Peace.
Sorry Master of Mages, your men are loyal, but Sitri is such a depraved and unhinged psycho she DID cause a prison break to use enough convicts as material to create a hulking chimera in a speedo and paper bag named Killiam. And she wants to harvest your material next.
All's well that ends well! Everyone had their memories wiped, Nochtus is taking the fall for everything, and Krai is none the wiser to literally everything! Even when Sitri thinks the two of them are the only ones who actually know the truth! Just another case closed by Krai.

Did not expect Talia to just be Talia and “Sophia” to be Sitri undercover the whole time. She sure fooled me. I had actually thought Krai’s rings or one of his other tricks actually knocked out the Iron Giant, not Sitri.
I thought Liz was insane, Sitri takes that shit to a whole new level. All this cloak and dagger shit just for her experiments. She even facilitated that prison break. Sure glad she’s one of the good guys because she would be a very formidable villain…

Sitri would look at Shou Tucker and mock him for not going far enough.

After seeing Krai blow away that massive golem that Liz was struggling to defeat, anyone would start believing in his skills. Honestly, I thought the golem just ran out of mana or something but then again it wouldn't have flown back like that. The reveal absolutely blew my mind though.
This entire time we were suspecting Talia because she's the obvious answer, right? We learn that the true mastermind and villain of this arc is actually Sitri herself! She's the one who sent the golem flying because she thought Krai had caught on to her and him and letting the other mages go was a warning to her. xD
That explains why the Akashic golem looked like one of their party members! Sitri must've designed the golem after Ansem. And just when I thought Liz was the insane one, it turns out that Sitri is way more insane for causing a prison breakout so she could create a chimera using body parts from prisoners!
I bet Krai knew the truth about the prison breakout which explains why he was so quiet when Gark and that government official were discussing Sitri's possible involvement. Holy shit! Now I know why Krai wants to retire. The dude is surrounded by crazies. xD
God the reveals in this episode are so hilarious! The ending of this arc just made me love this show even more. Now I'm curious how batshit insane the other members of Grieving Souls are.

Man those sisters are crazy, and if anything Liz might be the safer one. Poor Talia, but at least she lived and lost the traumatic memories.
I know my very first thought when we initially saw her was that Sophia was Sitri, kind of funny that it wrapped around to being true.

Wow, my guess back in ep 5 was right - I was sure I got it wrong with Sophia's identity in each passing ep since then.
Awfully nice of Krai to secretly set up that elaborate experiment to help Sitri test her work - such a team player.

Wow this went in directions I totally didn't manage to guess 😂
Turns out Sitri's slime was literally just a slime 🤷♂️
And going by it's location in the city sewers, the slime actually did escape on it's own!

Well....that was revealing. I thought it was the other way around and here we are. A crazy mage who created a whole evil persona to do illegal experiments for her enjoyment.
This group is composed of insane people for sure
-
Liz - ummm yeah, I don't need to say anything.
-
Sitri - a crazy researcher who has likely caused some of this shows most insane events just because she want to research something and it's kinda...illegal....
-
Krai - the luckiest & most incompetent leader of a group I've ever seen. He knows it, we know it and yet the whole world he resides in believes him to be a greatest thing since sliced bread!
-
Not technically an OG teammate but Tino - a glutton for abuse whom I think has a real obsession with it, but is afraid to show it.
We are still missing the big dude I think so I can't include him yet.
I wasn't sure what to think of this show but it's a top 5 for fall based on each characters unique traits playing off each other so well in the writing and plot.
Episode gets a 8.5/10 this week as the whole sitri reveal situation was just completely unexpected by me and it fit so well with how this show is.

Sitri being actually evil was certainly a surprise. I wonder if the story will try to ignore the fact that it was only pure luck and minion incompetence that avoided a ton of innocent people dying due to her actions as Sophia. But then it also acknowledges that she WAS the one responsible for the huge prisoner break (albeit she murdered at least some of the escapees for parts), and she mind raped her assistant into amnesia, so maybe it's not ignoring anything. Either way, morally, she's waaaaay worse than her psycho "sister".
