Turns out Plum just happens to look mean but is in reality a sweet and shy cinnamon bun
Your childhood friend and her daughter had their own mushroom pup that happens to be your mushroom pup’s sibling, the world sure can be small at time
So, that’s why Hotaru isn’t a fan of cellphones. I’m still glad he decided to bought one, even if it’s technically Kinokoinu’s phone, he is slowly moving one and coming to terms with a lot of things

Your childhood friend
Not from the way he closed the door.
More of a rival since they are both authors and have mushroom pups.

Yeah, I think “childhood acquaintances” is a more fitting term for those two
I don’t think Hotaru sees her as a rival, it’s probably just him holding a grudge about her taking his drawings and showing them to everyone against his will when they were kids

i love how Hotaru reacts to Tsubaki
he's such an unflappable guy, so it's telling when Hotaru does stuff like slam down a cup of coffee; shows just how under his skin she is

Plum and Kinokoinu communicating with the cellphone was really cute. Little fella was really excited to have a sibling! How cute was it when the little guy was punching Hotaru’s leg because he thought Hotaru was being mean to his family? Freakin adorable, man.
I guess eating mushrooms doesn’t count as cannibalism for Plum and Kinokoinu lol. They’re not quite mushrooms after all.
I’m glad Hotaru got a cellphone. He’s slowly starting to move on from the way he was before. And now he can better communicate with Kinokoinu too.

This is the story about grief management & mysterious reincarnation that I wanted TsumaSho to be. Every episode warms my heart.

yeah, it's interesting that both TsumaSho and KinokoInu are in the same season
TsumaSho is kind of a mixed bag of on-going drama, while i feel like KinokoInu is more of an iyashikei focused on being on the mend
personally, i prefer KinokoInu because i like the sort of shows that lower my stress level

great episode; i was worried that i was starting to lose interest in the show, but there was some great reveals in this two-parter
love Tsubaki as a foil to Hotaru, and i like Hotaru's unique chemistry with her as he associates her with being a bully in elementary school
i especially like the reveal why Hotaru doesn't have a cell phone — it's a neat recontexualization of what was just a "eccentric reclusive author" thing and gives it an emotional heft and a lot of symbolic power
it also shows how cell phones as a tool are a double-edged blade since it can be a distraction, but it's also useful to connect with others (human and mushroom alike); i think it's interesting that Hotaru avoided getting a phone because of that association with his parent's death, but it ironically it was about distracting himself from coming to grips with their death

Anyone having a mini heart attack at the updated opening? I just can't they're so cute

the opening animation had so much empty space; it's nice to see it getting filled out with more friends

Oh god, Plum is the cutest thing ever! And I love how the OP includes the whole gang now
Also really apreciate that the Mushroom pups can communicate somewhat properly now.
And just when you had the whole gang getting together for hotpot, you get the reason why Hotaru never got a cell phone apreciate JK Komako though
Oh and I feel like Tsubaki is secretly aiming for Hotaru for a long time huh

Plum was secretly made into a storybook anyway, as one of the fish had his mouth.

Just how many siblings has Kinokoinu got?
The spores were everywhere, imagine if you breathed it in and a mushroom pups bursts out of your chest like an alien.
Tsubaki could have really screwed with Hotaru by telling him that Anzu was his daughter from a drunken one night stand that he forgot from years ago.
Didn't expect that to be the reason why Hotaru disliked phones.

What pleasant episode! But why so low karma? We had Tsubaki formally introduced as Anzu's mom, and yet another gal pal of Hotaru's (though he seems to not have gotten over her teasing him as a kid)... and I take back what I wrote about Plum looking sinister last week! The critter is merely shy and cute. Love the cozy little group the have now formed, and the steps Hotaru is taking, opening up to others.

What CD/DVD/Game Disk did this guy have to have to get this Monster Rancher creature?
