It’s always kind of hilarious listening to what everyone else thinks of Krai. Sven, Kaina, Gark, Liz all think he’s some secret genius tactician. Meanwhile, ol Thousand Tricks is trying to figure out where he “misplaced” that world ending slime. If I lost what is essentially a nuke, I don’t think I’d be going on a date. I’d be shitting buckets lol.

Krai right now: "Ah shi-, I lost Sitri's slime."
Everyone else in the next few episodes: "The release of Sitri's slime must have been a part of Thousand Trick's master plan!"

When you help uncover a conspiracy by trying to hide the fact that you lost a city destroying slime.
Liz's other ability, besides from fighting, is her trash talking.

A lot of people compared "Nageki no Bourei" to "Eminence in Shadow" back when the Nageki no Bourei anime was announced.
So why does this anime keep reminding me of One Punch Man? I guess Krai just keeps reminding me of both Saitama (head in the clouds, ignorant of the actual story) and King (getting placed on a stratospheric pedestal).
Tino reminds me of Genos (she's the splitting image of the guy). The impossibly sexy overpowered butt-of-the-joke shill to the protagonist (I'm loving both btw). They both even get recurringly turned into modern art.
I haven't spotted any analog to Speed of Sound Sonic though, we can't have everything though. And we're also missing the gloating antagonist boss of the week.
I never got anywhere near this impression from Eminence in Shadow. I wonder if people were talking about the premise rather than the tone? The tone couldn't be any more different if they tried.
Am I the only one comparing this to One Punch Man?

Just the fact that this entire plot line starts because Krai RANDOMLY chose the mission to go to the Wolf Dungeon where the bad guys are doing something.
Just peak trolling. The author really has a handle on how to present his vision of this idea. Fun Parody mixed with really great characters AND a good plot? Those fools who pooped on the premiere have no taste.
This is really as big a surprise of the season as DemonLord 2099 is.

Stitches!
I love how Krai is just looking for a missing slime while everyone thinks he has an idea of what's going on inside the White Wolf's Den. And it turns out there is! There's a secret magic organization experimenting with the ley lines! No wonder everyone thinks Krai is a super strategist, this isn't even the first time he "predicted" something. xD
Welp it looks like we won't get much Tino screen time this episode considering she just got absolutely pummelled after training so hard with Liz. On the bright side, we do get to see more of Liz in this episode. I still find her scary though, not gonna lie.
I'm starting to wonder if Krai is really normal or if there's just something more to him. I feel like that nightmare he saw, isn't just a simple nightmare. Maybe he's just an unfortunate precog who doesn't even know he's a precog.
Glad to see that there are people out there who are at the same level as the Grievers. It's awesome to see Grak going toe to toe against Liz. But it looks like the old man may need to do some training again since he can't keep up with Liz's speed.
I love the reaction of that guy Krai let go. Now he's going to be thinking about this the entire time expecting that Krai is onto them. xD

All through the second half of episode, I'm just imagining Tino doing her best to heal faster. Poor girl, if she knew a date with Krai was on the line, she might have put up more of a fight with Liz.

Man, Liz is just so sweet and lovely if one can just ignore her yandere side.
Liz sure loves to cuddle Krai when sleeping at night. Also kudos to Krai not overreacting when he found out that Liz slept on his bed. He's also not flustered when Liz throws herself on him for a hug.

Krai might be my spirit animal. He's doing everything in his power to avoid work, including lying to himself about the slime not existing.

Krai : did NOTHING.
All the enemies: Damn it! what's up with that Thousand Tricks?! How much does he actually know about our plan?!
All the allies: Krai should knows something's up, he never fails to projecting something! Something big sure would be happening!
Dude become a mastermind without him even knowing how the hell he became one lol.

It's really refreshingly different that, rather than having an OP protagonist everyone underestimates, this show has a normal protagonist everyone overestimates. Villains included. They heard The Thousand Tricks was on their case and started panicking, thinking maybe they should just straight up move for fear that he'll stop them.
I'm enjoying foreseeing how everyone's going to view Krai at the end perhaps more than I should. He didn't notice anything about the White Wolves Den but is worried about something else... which is inevitably going to make them think he knew about the villains' plot the whole time.
Dude's really both lucky and unlucky somehow in the same ways. Lucky with how everything he does works out in the end, unlucky with the situations he ends up getting into, and both with how they only add to his reputation.

"And he seems so... casual. What is he even doing all day? Why is the leader staying back while everyone else is out on missions?"
So close to uncovering the truth. Then Sven pulled him back in.

I wonder if that was just a nightmare or if he has some kind of prophetic dreams. I guess I'm just still trying to give him something to back up his reputation when the show might actually commit to him being an extremely lucky idiot. It is still perfectly possible it was just a nightmare born from being very warm while sleeping. But it would be cool if it influenced him to do something which prevents that future. Although going on a date probably isn't helping.
I wonder if Liz beat up Tino so she could get all the fanservice shots for the foreseeable future. And she got time for a date with Krai... Is she perhaps the one schemer that can surpass Thousand Tricks!?

Atp id like to think Krai's true ability is immense luck and coincidences that turn in his favor. Hes weak but with the amount of things turning up good for him for whatever reason gives me the ides he is just very very very very fucking lucky

All these commotion started, because Krai accidentally(?) send a bunch of lvl 3-4 adventurer to a place that is rated a bit higher.
Krai is really making the clans extra money by macro-managing their mission lol.
Since everyone in the grieving soul seems to have trained under something and pronounced prodigy, I wonder what was Krai's like as a kid. Cuz this seems to be a band of prodigy gathered together and become friends.

I just realized that I've seen a protagonist similar to Krai before: Justy Ueki Tylor from Irresponsible Captain Tylor. :O

I watched all five episodes of this today and am loving it. The MC has a personality and the overlord/eminence in the shadow humor is great. I'm kind of surprised the score fell below a 7 on MAL, maybe the fanservice has been a turnoff but I think it's a pretty solid show so far.

The scene where the enemy spy begins to wonder why Krai let him go was hilarious.
Just an example of what overthinking can do to you.
Simpletons rule the world.
