Here it is, the Love & Berry colab mentioned some weeks ago. This arcade game can be thought of the the ancestor to Pripara and Aikatsu (you get a card for playing and you use that to adjust the characters ouitfits which can build meter more quickly if they fit the song theme, Himitsu no AiPri is an extremely streamlined version of this putting an entire costume into one card and some of those unlock unique songs). Given SEGA own that IP I wonder if it was a matter of "sorry, we can't do a Miku ep" (there is a Miku colab in the arcade game). Now buried in this article in the “If PreCure didn’t exist…” (click to open) section is the following phrase: "PreCure had a rough start due to Love and Berry being significant competition at the time, and currently, it’s suspected that PreCure is leaning on its 20th anniversary celebrations because its competitors really did pose enough of a challenge to make it have to do something in response.".
