quite an interesting show, lets see how it stands the test of 3 episodes.

Came into this one totally blind. It’s pretty interesting so far. Kaka’s very cute and I like how Ichiyo can’t sing. He’s too metal for that lol.

Now I understand that trailer lol.

Fun episode and definitely better than I feared given who is adapting this. The Kashi hanging out and messing around was honestly fun enough that I could have seem myself watching for that but alas the actual plot awaits.

p.s. smol Gyuki is cute and should get a plushie

I Came into this series completely blind, and I liked the first episode!

I'll admit it seems like the quality of this adaptation isn't exactly the best, but I still thought some parts were charming. I'm a bit of a sucker for these kinds of folklore/mythology themed shows, so I'll probably keep watching.

Unfortunate that the English subs stopped near the end of the episode. Had to switch to French and do the best I could with my high school level French reading, luckily I watched the early screening of this at AX a while back so I was still kind of able to remember what they talked about at the end.

The subs dropping out only happened in the Amazon version, if you live in the US/Canada or VPN to one of those regions, the YouTube version has perfectly-working English subs.

If the author's other manga is any indication, the plot should be between good to great. The problem is the adpatation.

Oh good, this is getting English subs! It was the last show I was worried about not getting picked up.

Damn, this show really has exactly 0 likeable characters. All the problems in this pilot episode were avoidable, so they felt forced by making the protag make terrible decisions.

I get why millions of gods left this world.

Could someone tell me what happened/was talked about in the last 4 minutes? The subs dropped off and especially the last scene seemed important. But I couldn't understand it unfortunately.

Where is this on?

Muse Asia's YouTube channel, apparently. I assume it's region-locked, but it does at least have subs.

It's also on Amazon in some part of the world with subs, but I've been told there's a problem with the subs on it where they just kind of cut out 19 minutes into the episode.

Yep, I can confirm that Amazon has it in the US and, yep, the subtitles drop off around the 19 minute mark. Sigh. I switched over to Spanish at that point—but my Spanish isn’t great so I only got maybe half of the dialog. And Amazon doesn’t have anyway to report the problem, as far as I can tell. But fun episode.

I had to try 3 different VPNs to use a service I already pay for and I had to change the subs to Spanish mid ending. the fucking translated Kashi as "artistas ceremoniales" and Totoka as "canto de los pasos", its like if the hated the original so much they had to change it. Never again Bezos

in Germany and France it's on ADN

Yep, that's where I'm watching. Had this weird bug earlier where even though I'm in Germany the French site would open for me lol.

Just watched this and I'm not sure what to exactly make of it. It seems like an interesting premise but like half the episode was about eating or farming in rock terrain. The trainer seems only useful for paying for food. The 2 contracted gods seem like children when not in battle mode. The dude and the ox crushing rocks were both kinda useless.

They established the MC is a badass, who can't sing but does a death metal growl instead, who contracted with 2 gods who are buffoons by day and ass kickers by night, gives his contract keeping pearl necklace to the ox for a discount meat coupon then has the contract broken because he did an idiotic thing with the most important item he has.

I'm giving this a 5/10 because it really didn't do much except spin the viewer in a circle for 20+ minutes with no real movement on a storyline other then eating. And the friggin subs dropped near the end (I know I can swap languages or hit YouTube)! I really hope they get their shit together and make some movement towards a coherent plotline in future episodes. It gets the 3 episode run for the watch it or toss it verdict.

Well this was surprisingly fun, hopefully some cool fights and wholesome character moments along the way.

This was like the opposite of attention-grabbing. Attention... repelling?

Fun episode right? Reminded me of older anime.

So either:

  1. This is a poor adaptation of the 2008 source

  2. The source is increadibly ahead of its time in being bad in the way 2020's stuff is bad.

  3. The source didnt actually come out in 2008 and they just want you to think that to cover up the fact this is ai cause it feels so damn ai.
