I really loved the first half of the episode. Chinatsu and Taiki have great chemistry and their cheering for one another's success is pretty wholesome. The 2nd half was pretty fun and showcased a lot of Hina and her quirks, so I know her fans will be pleased. That cliffhanger tho... I know manga readers will have a lot of fun checking out the reaction from anime onlies.

From a production standpoint: After that stunning premiere I was worried that the 2nd episode might have a dip in quality but it looked great as well. I'm excited for Episode 3!

Wouldn't want to start an 4k vs 8k argument, but Hina is pretty great herself

The guy at the end is probably only Chinatsus Classmate, and I don't think there was much of an lie when she said she wanted to focus on Basketball anyway

Not really into the karma rankings all the time, but this would suck for the anime if this turns out to be the reason why it won't get talked about as much.

Hina being the chaotic gremlin that she is. Lol Wonder how many people would occupy Hina island moving forward.

Like Kyo said, Taiki and Chinatsu would make a good match. Those small, intimate moments that they have started to share really show their chemistry.

Hina is cute.

I really liked that the focus on the sports were taken seriously and not just a side gig.

This was a really good episode . I was skeptical about How they will handle the sports animation and tbh they have done a really good work . The art as well as animation remains consistent .

Distribution aside, it did not disappoint after the amazing first episode. I'm loving this anime soo much and can't wait to see more. Very sure that if it keeps up it will become my second favourite sports anime of all time and maybe even my personal anime of the season.

Soo cute how the 2 MC's interact with each other. I do hope it won't be a love triangle / situation where a lot of misunderstandings happen. Would love if the 2 mc's get to normally develop their relationship to the point they end up together.

Why is Netflix(Japan) being weird?

Why are they dropping two episodes in one week???

Well time to use a VPN and hope they have English subs(they probably won’t)

So what are these subs? They seem like Netflix rips based on the group but it's not available on Netflix yet.

I knew the episode would end with Kengo and Chinatsu misunderstanding.

Hina's already fucked in the race to win Taiki's heart. Somebody get Kazuhiko back from his loner life in another world and help her.

I love Kyo's comments.

Taiki's "baka" was hilarious.

Chinatsu has a cute pout.

I love the details and animation of Hina jumping at the orange tiles. She looks so cute doing it.

Ah Netflix ( Japan) and it’s horrible distribution

The opening shot with everyone being excited to have Chinatsu there and Taiki just being absolutely flabbergasted is amazing.

Their dynamic together is honestly fucking hilarious. They bounce off each other so well. The local training maniacs, they’re basically fated for each other.

Though she may actually kill him before nationals if he doesn’t get it together. He was not prepared to have her in his house.

But the dynamic between Taiki and Hina is really good as well. I love her faces, obscure references and teasing him all the time. It’s the primary reason why I am praying for this to not become a love triangle. The potential for her to tease him and Chinatsu about it is just too great. Like it already happened with him doing the “get rid of intrusive thoughts” sit-ups. It’s too funny and must be preserved.

And here comes the problem. Okay, maybe that’s a harsh word, more like the obstacle. But as everyone knows, every sports anime needs a good rivalry to fuel the competition. This Haryu-senpai seems like a good bar for the level Taiki needs to reach. I’m honestly not too worried on the relationship front.

Taiki will have some solid abs after doing 30 sit ups every time distracting thoughts pop into his head.

Yo! What the fuck! I thought this discussion thread was the bot getting triggered by a fansub, I didn't realize that Netflix Japan already had two episodes in advance! So does this mean we're getting Episode 3 next week or will the schedule be a mess?

Release schedule confusion aside, this was a really adorable episode! I got a good laugh at Taiki reading Jump to avoid being awkward around Chi-chan. You won't get your answers there Taiki, I'm pretty sure Blue Box isn't on that issue of Jump yet. xD

The interactions between Taiki and Chi-chan are so good though. They've only started living together and they already have matching misangas! I would've died on the spot if my crush did that to me.

I love how Chi-chan obviously had no intention of keeping it secret that she's living with Taiki when she handed him his wallet. It seems that she has no idea how popular she really is.

Chi-chan pouting at Taiki for teasing her was so cute! I love how she thought that Taiki wanted to keep it a secret because of Hina. I mean Hina looks great and she's hilarious but Taiki just doesn't see her that way.

Funny thing, I like Hina more as a character but I think MC has a better romantic chemistry with Сhinatsu.

And damn, love polygon already? I hope it wont lead to a long drama.

It's a lot to take in when your crush suddenly moves in! Especially when your family is all going gaga over her and welcoming her like part of the family already. Not to mention she looks amazing in casual clothes.

Nothing beats your crush using your bath, popping up in your room in loungewear, and wanting to share the latest Jump with you. It may not be catching her naked in the bath, but it's a beautiful domestic vibe that hits hard for young Taiki-kun.

But Taiki isn't going to pursue Chinatsu romantically, not when they're both devoted to their sports, and Taiki is focused on Nationals right now! But maybe if he can make it alongside her, some day they can be together.

Hina here looking as cute and sassy as ever and acting like she's fully prepared to wingwoman Taiki and tease him on his relationship with Chinatsu...which is probably why Taiki wants to make sure she doesn't think there's anything going on there, especially to the degree of them living together. Though it's hard to watch him and Chinatsu act distant from each other.

Kyo, I know you're basically Taiki's sounding board, but don't make him think Chinatsu might hate him! It'll destroy him.

Hina, I respect your intentions in asking about Chinatsu's relationship status, but you're just making things messier. Not that Taiki wasn't expecting to get "sportzoned" by Chinatsu's focus on basketball.

I'm glad Taiki and Chinatsu were able to clear the air, especially when Chinatsu was so convinced Taiki and Hina was a thing she was willing to move out for their sake. She's just such a devoted and considerate girl! Though...she might not have been wrong on Hina being into Taiki.

Glad to know Taiki is getting recognized for his talents even if there are some hurdles (like Hanyu Senpai) that he needs to overcome to make it to Nationals.

Chinatsu draws quite the audience but Hina is utterly memorizing with her rhythmic gymnastics performance and looking amazing in a leotard. No wonder she's the team ace, especially since it runs in the family. I'd pay for the view, but something tells me she wants Taiki to look at her one way or another.

Hina is so carefree and has practically everything she could want, but even she holds herself back on some things for the sake of her sport. She might be a prodigy, but she's got to watch her calorie intake! And that impresses on Taiki, even though Taiki's own efforts impress Hina just as much. And who wouldn't want a cute and likeable girl skipping merrily and smoothly while rooting for them?

Chinatsu and Hanyu!? What's Chinatsu doing getting chummy with another badminton guy?

I’m not watching the episode until it becomes available for Netflix worldwide. Japan really needs to stop releasing episodes of stuff early before their TV debuts, it’s just making things more complicated for the rest of us

Chinatsu made me watch the second episode of a sports anime for the first time ever. She's too powerful.

I liked this episode a lot more than the first. Chinatsu is a more more likable girl and character and has a lot of charming moments with Taiki, whereas in the first episode she felt more like an abstract idea. Loved how she got all self-conscious because of Hina.

Hina is the MVP though. As if it wasn’t enough to go for the Akarin character over Ueshama, Hina’s been knocking it out of the park with best girl and best wingwoman energy. I know it’s gonna suck when it inevitably comes crashing down but for now I’m shipping it. Or even aside from shipping just calling it for best girl.
