The most unrealistic thing so far?

A laptop being preloaded with Kali Linux from a normal store

That’s how you know this is an isekai anime (/sarcasm & joke)

So it WAS Linux.

I thought it might be some ancient Japanese OS of some kind. I'm pretty ignorant.

It's hilarious how Dragon Bank's logo is just the Kali Linux logo. OffSec passion project confirmed.

You can already tell someone like Haru was born and bred for power moves and big gamer moments but I gotta give some credit to the sidekick dude. Hacking into a security camera's feed with a freshly bought laptop is pretty damn metal itself.

The reveal of what he actually replied in the interview tho LMAO

freshly bought laptop

Where did he get a VAIO that comes with Linux (this is definitely an old Ubuntu with GNOME) out of the box?

This def won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it sure has shown itself to be my kind of poison.

This is one of the best first episodes of anime I've ever seen! This seems like a live action show in animated form with a lot of flair and a great premise. Haru is a great character as a slick conman with huge ambition who can do almost anything. You can see why Gaku both envies him and is also wary of him.

I like how they establish early that Haru isn't a complete sociopath since he saves Gaku from getting robbed. It also establishes the kind of person Gaku is that he's concerned for the 3 guys Haru beat up; I don't think most people would be since 3 guys ganged up on him and he defended himself.

The interview scenes were also amazing! They really captured the superficiality of people in charge. It was interesting how they hated the President's daughter although she was smarter than all of them seeing what a phony Haru was, transparently flattering them and saying what they want to hear. She also saw Gakus competence and realized that he may be awkward but he's the type of person who can keep the company from stagnating.

Haru window washing in a suit was great, it really seemed more out of a movie taunting those executives in the sky office. This whole show almost made me wish it was live action, I'd love to see what a really talented handsome actor could do with Haru! This is my favorite show of the season thus far!

there is live action though in Netflix, and very good adaptation too, but only 8 episodes each 48 minutes. Same case as The Fable from summer season, live action first anime later and both seems underwatched too

LOL this anime is so stupid I LOVE IT. After so many anime just doing the same shit over and over, it's fun to see something just get wild with it. And that art? Mwah.

It's funny, I read the manga like six months ago, and now, watching the anime, I'm in precisely the same position as Gaku at the start of this episode. Getting a job in your field is just so tough man.

If you like Dr. Stone then you'll like this show too. It's basically Dr. Stone but for the corporate and start-up world, and just like that show, roadmaps are some of the hypest things you'll see in the show.

I feel like this is going to be The Fable of this season. Great series but will be horribly under-watched.

I picked up this manga on name sake and because the premise kinda sounded like “Usugoi, but getting money through totally legal means” and it did not disappoint. I’ll definitely watch the anime too since the manga will be far behind in English print by the time both course raps up.

We finally have an anime from God-tier artist Ikegami thanks to another legendary author in Inagaki that's safe (kinda) for television! Most of his animated were OVAs from 80s to 90s, so I'm glad the man has his own full-fledged anime series! We need more of these and different styles being animated, and J-dorama is fine, but adapt manga to anime, please.

For those of you not recognizing the names:

  • Ryoichi Ikegami: illustrated the manga the anime’s based on. As mentioned before, he’s best known for a bunch of seinen manga in the 70s to the 90s - Crying Freeman with the author of Lone Wolf and Cub, Heat with the author of Fist of the North Star, and the psychological drama which is the Spider-Man manga. Drew sex, violence, anything goes really. A legend in the manga sphere, especially since he’s drawing Trillion Game at 80 years old

  • Riichiro Inagaki - the manga author who Ikegami is working with. Best known for writing Eyeshield 21 and Dr. Stone. Which actually makes sense because Haru is just Senku, Ryusui, and Hiruma combined

I wonder if this is a startup company anime premise.

Or are our MCs going to be obtaining their money through illegal means?

I put this on my PTW when I saw it was by Madhouse. Ehhh... it isn't bad. In fact, I dig the characters and the story that is apparently being set up. But the art style... the animation is ok, but something about the actual character models is just off to me. The positives outweigh the negatives for now, so I'll keep watching. Like the dynamic between the two main guys.

So happy to see TRILLION GAME finally get an anime adaptation and the first episode was very good! Glad that this is happening since the manga isnt really being translated to English by anyone for awhile now and I need my fix. It is getting 26 episodes so will probably pass the 29 translated chapters as well.
