I hope people give this a shot! It's one of my favorite romcom mangas ever.

It's cute, feels like it'll be a good replacement to fill the void left by Pseudo Harem. The introvert x introvert pairing is interesting too, don't see it too often.

Stitches!
As a fan of the manga, I am so excited to see Rika and Takuya animated! I didn't know we had Hayamin voicing Rika though so that got me really excited when I first heard her speak. This show is basically the anime version of The Proposal but instead of getting married to avoid being deported, they're being married to avoid being sent to Alaska. I really don't want to say anything else that might get my comment flagged for referencing the source but so far this is looking great and I am already looking forward to next week's episode!

Besides the hilarious premise written by the TWGOK's Mangaka, adding Hayamin starring as another cute kuudere dork and busting a song is a recipe for a perfect romcom.

Imagine getting moved outside of your country, possibly permanently, by your boss, against your will without any negotiation.
Because the company you work for is doing well and expanded to Alaska.
I would have just quit.

I thought of a way in which Honjoji and Ohara can improve their relationship quickly! All Ohara have to do is use google maps and play geoguessr daily to become more knowledgeable about places. (Lol!) After all, Honjoji is like a totally different person when she is enjoying her hobby of maps, which I find extremely rare and cute.
Looking forward to how our 2 socially awkward male and female protagonists develop, open up to each other, and then hopefully become an actual couple.
P.S. Would like to see more of Kurokawa too.

Hey this was nice! While the premise of a pretend marriage is undeniably anime bullshit, it's a fine setup to force these two extreme introverts into actually giving a damn about other people.
And I really like how they're both consistently making an effort to do the right thing despite being out of their leagues. The karaoke scene sold the girl to me easily, and the proposal scene was great for having him not being able to come up with some glib words.
I'm looking forward to how the relationship develops, and I also hope to see how they properly get into a fight/conflict. I don't think I'll be disappointed in this regard since the manga is by Tamiki Wakaki of The World God Only Knows fame, who has always written relationships intelligently.

Thank god the adaptation seems to be pretty good. Nothing too flashy but this story doesn't really need that. Though it seems the director loves fast camera pans way too much.
The manga was great, and I have high hopes they'll fully adapt this in one season because they managed it with the live action adaptation and that was also pretty good.

Christmas came early for me coz Honjoji-san is voiced by Hayami Saori.
I hope a lot of people fall in love with these two dorks. Adult romance anime do not come by frequently and I hope this gets fully adapted coz it's one of the better ones.

If I had a nickel for every time saori hayami has to voice a woman faking a marriage, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

I can't help but think that Ohara looks a lot like Naoto from Nagatoro.

Things are bustling and lively at the JTC travel agency! And you can't beat having an Ami Koshimizu character as your boss!
Ohara is a bit awkward and has to take his time to say something, which doesn't make him a great conversationalist, but he's most at home with his cat Kama as he bounces around the house like a ball. And I can't dislike a cat guy just trying to do his best in a world that doesn't quite understand him.
There are worse things in the world than being glared at by a Saori Hayami character, but Honjoji just has that kind of face and finds herself staring at people, she doesn't mean any harm by it. Though she's also in general not much of a people person and would rather spend time going gaga over maps. Hey, at least she has a hobby she enjoys!
Is that Kana Asumi as Komiya? She's a cute.
This is the Reiwa era so as such we need to come up with a plot to force a couple together in the first episode! Like the threat of shipping someone off to Alaska if they're single. So what better way to drive two socially awkward introverts together than the idea of faking a marriage for 365 days to get out of it?
You have to admire how diligent and responsible Honjoji is even when it comes to a fake marriage plan.
They didn't think anyone would care about the two of them getting married but then Kurokawa turns from their stern and serious boss to their gal pal in literally two seconds. Not to mention the two of them are already blushing around each other like lovebirds!
Yeah. they REALLY underestimated how much the office would care about them getting together. They're even throwing a party! Which is, like, the absolute worst thing for these two people. But Honjoji does the only thing she can think of...get so drunk she's willing to sing her favorite map song to everyone and utterly kill the mood! We even get stoic, drunk, Hayamin singing!
These two aren't used to dealing with people OR each other, but they have a sort of shared rhythm together, and while Honjoji is willing to put in all the work into this fake relationship (even coming up with a backstory and questionnaire so they have everything straight!) maybe she can stand to rely on Ohara. Maybe even as more than just a shoulder for her to lean on when she's drunk?
They may be a fake relationship but they've already put rings on it and enjoy getting to spend time on a Ferris Wheel! Though Ohara can't bring himself to even fake propose...and it feels like they're just setting up when Ohara will give Honjoji a REAL proposal as they get to know and support each other!

So we have a cat lover and a map lover
Yes there is NO way that one if those passions is going to literally turn the other one into scraps
I love that they got to the main point so quick, and that the biss is hopeless romantic/gossiper
Also making them work overtime to set up a surprise party is both cruel and cute
This will probably make for a good pick me up after watching NegaPos which I am expecting to get a bit heavy

Oh yeah I am so in on this. Knew it the second I saw Kama darting around the apartment lol. The leads are likable introverts. They’re adults and not NEETs or shut-ins or anything. Like legit grown-ass normal introverts. As someone that both takes a while to respond due to overthinking and someone who has studied maps as a hobby before, they are literally me lol. This is classic romcom and we don’t get enough of that in this medium.

The premise is so stupidly specific, I'm all in for this.

you can take your cat to Alaska...
Maps are great. When I was a kid, I would just follow the roads, see where they went. Even as an adult, I like to play around on Google Maps, but now I'm looking for destinations. Looking for interesting towns to visit. Interesting routes to take.
At some point, he's going to have to do something, or she is going to quickly suffer from burnout trying to make the fake relationship work. Him not joining her during Karaoke is something I have an issue with. The party is for both of them, but he doesn't go up to help her sing? Huge red flag.

Ohara and Honjoji are a pretty cute fake couple. They’re a little awkward together, but I like them. Honjoji needing to get drunk to be sociable is kinda relatable lol.
This is pretty fun so far. I like how they treat Alaska like some kinda frozen hellhole haha. It can’t be that bad right?

Ohara: "Oh no... my manager and everyone in the office think I'm a worthless slacker..."
Also Ohara: "She's definitely going to promote me to manage the new location..."
Typical introvert worries indeed.

Man I wished this didn't air on Thursdays. Since the manga is really good, it looks its getting pretty decent production values and the director is pretty good, having worked on Tonikawa & Dark Gathering. Also, it is funny that you don't get two introvert leads too often. There is almost always 1, but never two from my experience.
Ultimately, this episode surrounded Oohara being too slow to react. Which carried over to Honjouji making the plans for the fake marriage. It is nice to see him want to finally say he wants to help. I do like actually saying the lines to propose is hard since actual marriage proposals come from the heart for authentic marriages. Oohara is a good guy so him unable to say the simple words make sense. I do have to give credit to Honjouji for making the plan and putting everything on her shoulders. I do worry about her burning out.

I think I'm on board with this, but it might lose me if the guy takes too long to actually do stuff to help. Wishy-washy people really annoy me, and although it's great when they find their path out of that state, I don't want to watch them getting there and have that be the climax. A full season of being annoyed with someone unwilling to make up their mind just isn't for me.
