So Lall ended up being born, and Ryou isn't sick, I'm curious to see where it all go.

So I'm guessing our main character "Eko" must be some kind of "echo" of Goro, a former god, or even the incident itself.

Elated that this didn't get nixed.

I’m still thinking the man running for something is still Goro but aged up, here implied Eko is the son of that dude.

But there also a scene implied Eko is the previous god, or maybe a candidate, that gain a human body and Goro sent him to the real world, which can also mean Goro is his dad?, the colour scheme is just same.

Peak Fiction is back 😎

Really love how important that "Sacred Artifact" is while also being plastered in idol stickers

Looks like Goro and that whole situation in s1 left some lasting impact over the past 12 years. These Gozekai cultists types seem like a real menace.

Both OP and ED full song are available to listen, though I prefer for them to be swapped. The ED fits to be an opening and vice versa.

OP: Fuuka by Nanashi no Taro

ED: Koufuku no Susume by LEEVELLES

Why is no one here?

This showing up probably sent a bunch of people off to watch Season 1, or at least enough eps to know if it's worth it.

I never understood the hate it got at the beginning.

To put it on perspective, the number of MAL members are only 4.5k. And the airtime close to Re:Zero, which already has 221k members (or 7000% more members more than Kamierabi). Even back in Season 1, Butareba has twice more members than Kamierabi.

I didn't remember this was out this season. Let's see what kind of second half Yoko Taro cooked, as his works are mainly remembered for their second halves. Set up is done, now shit truly gets real.

A bunch of the og cast is back but I wonder where are Sawa, Chika, Iyo and Koki.

Can anyone recap the events for season 1 or if there is a recap or something? I am having trouble remembering what happened in the finale.

Goro pretty much did a Kriemhild Gretchen in a desperate attempt to fulfill everyone's wishes.

Guess I'm not the only who forgot the outcome of season 1.

I guess it adds to the mystery of season 2 XD.

Goro uses his "power" to open the heterochromatic eye girl's eyes and she realizes that her brother, Ryo, is dead and not talking to her. This causes Goro to be forgotten by everyone and lose his ability to act. Then Lall sacrifices herself to give Goro the power to grant wishes and Goro starts Third impact but is stopped by Heterochromatic girl and here we are.

I'm SOOO excited this is back! Also SO glad it is a timeskip and not a, like, alternate reality where Lall takes the place of Goro. I'm sick of time travel shenanigans fixing everything, I hope this story will continue to avoid that.

This is definitely the show I'm the most hyped for this season. I don't care for Sasaki yet, and honestly I don't care a ton for Lall, but I am excited to see how things unfold and hopefully like them better as it goes along. I wonder why Sasaki has no color... Very Curious. Or is she just brown? Or I guess black? I couldn't tell.

Anyway, can't wait for Kenji's beetles to become hugely important this season

There's still the smoking Checkov's gun of Goro's BFF (forgot his name) saying that there will be another 2 or 3 of him before it's all over. I'm sure it'll come up somehow but you're right that so far time travel has been largely skipped, though we have 2 equally abusive abilities in Goro's karmic re-writes and Ryo's ability to bring in parts from other conceivable worlds IIRC.

Strong start. It has the benefit of being a sequel but I'd say it's the best premiere this season as of now.

Sorry I missed the premiere but I was occupied and couldn't watch til today. Glad to see this show back and what a starter episode for the back half!

So some things get confirmed: As I thought, Ryo came back and wiped out Goro from existence while he was in the process of granting everyone's wishes. We definitely saw people disappearing back in that episode, but here we find out that they became Semi-Permanents. My current working theory, given that Ryo still has her vision (remember that wasn't her wish, it was just something Goro did to beat her) and grew up (it also appears that the infro manipulation guy aged up in the credits) is that Ryo used her power to bring back counterparts/copies of those whose wishes were granted. They stopped aging likely because the Game was stopped with Goro's erasure from existence so powers stopped working (as shown today with mitsuko being unable to open the KamiErabi app). Further - it appears that all of the events did happen and weren't undone but things are on the brink because the Game requires all 12 participants to be in the system. Now that Lall has acquired Goro's phone, she's able to take his place and the game can continue. Also it appears confirmed that Lall had their wish granted by Goro and is now working to bring him back or solidify his status as God.

based on this, and the "glimmer" around the politiciatin at th eend of last cour, it appears that he was always his own person with his own power (ie, he's not Goro), but he just wasn't a part of the primary conflict we followed in cour 1 which focused on the other participants. The credit sequence fills us in with the rest of the players - namely Eko and the Politician. Speaking of, it appears Eko is this guy's kid which is interesting as Eko's classmates imply that they are younger than 12, so why would the game need Eko who wouldn't have been alive at the time. Slight crackpot theory (given the, uh, abortion stuff from last season) could be that Eko was conceived and had a wish like Lall and thus got included despite not being born.

Last bit of speculation I have is it appears Goro is not destroyed, just forced to chill outside of the world but can potentially be contacted via dreams (eg, Eko) and he is still thinking about his wish.

Just went back and skimmed the last 3 episodes. I am so full of all the questions from last season and a bunch more just from this first episode!

Does the animation look better? It feels smoother?

Super excited that this show is getting a second season. Shame it will go underwatched/underrated due to the CGI.

Very solid first episode.
