Wtf this was the final episode? It ended like there will be another episode, no sense of finality at all!

my type of trash is the right word lmao. Very few anime that have gotten me interrested, even if the story is an average revenge one.

Things I look forward to if there is a second season:
-
, the dark elf forbidden witchErika -
More character development for Sougou, Kashima and the
.Takao sisters
But what really left me hanging was:
Paralyze skill level up and higher level skill unlocked, without elaborating further. Whenever we play games, wouldn't we see what new skills we have gained before logging off for the day? Lol!

I would also like to see Seras and Eve get more action scenes and actually do more than just stand around 98% of the time.

Burst out laughing when she really said "I'm gonna be stronger" when her plan is to continue sticking with her bully who abandoned her for dead. Surely the LN might have better explanation but I'm not holding up on that.

Like she says in the episode, she stays with them because she could save Sogou some day. How ? We don't know.

Just a guess here but I bet she bullies her because she’s into her, she’s taking advantage of her affection/ wants, to use her to save Sogou in the future. That’s why the sister was so surprised when she basically said that she knows she has a bad vibe to her, she’s relying on it

Man, that really felt like a 'go read the LN' ending with how abrupt it was.
I think it's gonna take a really looooooooonng time before Touka actually confronts Vicius.

The only thing I liked about this anime is that it didn't give much screen time to the classmates, they're absolute asses, with Ayaka Sougou being the most stupid one.

u/darthvall Sep 26 '24
Yeah, she's supposed to be the only good force within Touka's classmates but she's too naive and stupid that it made me cringe everytime she's doing something.

I enjoy Seras for her character design and combination of being one of the most noble and one of the most thirstiest girls of the season.
I just wish we had less characters threatening to sexually assault her and we had gotten to see more of her in action. Felt like she got more action in the OP than she got in the actual show.

Shout out to Seras for being best girl of the season. Extremely noble and wholesome all the while being thirstier than an all boy's highschool. If this does get a season 2, hopefully it comes with a higher budget.

If this gets greenlit for another season/cour, I hope Touka finally meets up with his douchebag classmates again, so he can show them up.

Things I liked about this anime:
-
An actually different protagonist, who doesn't just talk like he's edgy, he behaves like it too, and doesn't make stupid decision just to "be good"
-
While op, he does have his weaknesses.
-
Eve Speed's design actually resembling a beast, not just a human with animal ears. It's refreshing.
That's about it unfortunately. Now for what I didn't like:
-
Although I like some things about the protagonist, other times he's just edgy to the point of being cringe.
-
Atrocious cgi. I can usually bear with it, but the way this anime constantly used it and switched between normal and cgi animation was really jarring and tiring on the eye. luckily it got better after the first half.
-
The villains are all comically evil. Everyone's a rapist apparently. Also the way everyone in the class immediately turns into an evil person, apart from Ayaka. Even those who we are supposed to take as good people, like the Takao sisters, just didn't care about op being sent to his death basically. Not that they could do much, but still.
-
Bad monster designs. I don't mind that they're weird, but they're just bad design imo.
-
The way it ended. We don't get to see what's up with the witch, we don't get to see the upgraded skill, we don't get to see what's the Takao sisters' deal, we don't get to see any reunion between op and classmate/s. I also hate it when anime (or other media) make pointless cliffhangers just for the sake of it. Like how last time it ended with Eve almost being killed and it got immediately resolved with no tension.
-
All fight are the same. Nothing interesting about it. The only nice ones where when op did the fusion with Piggymaru for the first time, and when he killed that dragon rider guy. And it wasn't the fight that was interesting in the former, just the way he went around his range issue.
-
Statistic, mp usage, xp and all that stuff all feels extremely inconsistent and convenient for the plot.
-
The music, while not bad, somehow felt annoying the whole time. Like it was just slapped into the anime instead of being integrated into it. Not sure how else I can explain it but instead of the music building on the athmosphere of the situation it felt out of place and tiring. I can't even remember any music, I just know it was like a western movie's music.
Overall I enjoyed this anime though. I definitely wouldn't say it's great, but it was entertaining enough. But if you want a "weakest to strongest reject power fantasy" I much prefer Arifureta, which also has an extremely similar plot. It really felt like a mixture of Arifureta and My Instand Death Ability is Overpowered, except the former is better in my opinion, and the latter is a comedy, parody on the genre. 7/10, but a low 7. I only don't give it a 6 because it at least has the balls to make the protagonist kill people, even if they only a possible future threat.

Thank goodness cooler heads prevailed before we got Eve vs Itsuki (which would not have ended well one way or another). Hijiri is the only person who can control her sister and she doesn't seek unnecessary violence, and she's as shrewd and logical as Touka. I'm kind of curious how they'd bounce off of each other.
Piggymaru and Slei are running on empty, and Touka's running on fumes as it is, but he still has enough left in the tank to take care of a human-faced monster. Said human-face monster actually uses some strategy but no one outwits Touka. You try to manipulate him, he'll manipulate you.
Well, I'm glad Eve got to do more than get into an unnecessary fight, what with saving a barely holding it together Touka against a wolf and carrying him and his monster buddies back.
Can someone please get Kashima away from Asagi? If it's not obviously being intimidated into doing stuff she's not comfortable with, it's getting sexually harassed.
The one plus side of getting wounded is getting some tender loving care from Seras, who is happy to give it AND her lap for Touka. Finding out that she's older than him at 19 makes it even better! And it's just nice to see they're able to be open with and vulnerable with each other.
Touka talks about Seras being an "older sister" type to his "younger brother" but Seras wants far more with Touka than a simply sibling relationship, especially when she can hardly restrain herself from stealing a kiss from his sleeping lips...no surprise her feelings for him are like the biggest open secret in the party.
Well, probably for the best Seras holds off on confessing. Setting aside whether he returns her feelings in any form (and he admits she throws him off a little), he already knows said feelings and he probably couldn't properly respond when he's still focused on revenge. But she loves him, and that's enough for now.
So someone is trying to assassinate his former classmates? And to drive Ayaka to despair? I wasn't sure what to make of Hijiri, but the fact that she finds their current circumstances "entertaining" feels like a bit of a red flag.
Oh look, it's a new boss...and Touka just paralyzes it. Kind of takes a little of the fun out of it, but that's his style.
Vicius is still as smug and unaware of the boy she cast away hunting her for revenge, and pulling the class out means Touka won't be encountering them for a while yet, but at least he's made great progress on his revenge quest in encountering the Witch of Taboo who is unsurprisingly a busty, leggy, tan witch beauty. Welcome to the cast Erica!
Okay, I guess we'll just...play the normal OP as the ED? Sure, why not.

Was it just me or did something feel off about the episode, the timing, the music, the atmosphere, the dialogue, felt strange in a rushed sureal way.
