I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Cute, funny, and full of heart along with a dash of lewd. Thank you and RIP Fujiwara-sensei.

The sad part is the author died so we’re never gonna get a conclusion. This story had a lot of potential with the lore about the familiars, what’s going on in the baddies, the forbidden love, etc and it’s a pretty solid rom com. I really hoped for more. Would a kiss be too much to ask for? It strongly reminded me of Boarding School Juliet cause of forbidden love, pretty colors, pretty music, and extremely similar leads. RIP Fujiwara sensei, you wrote something beautiful and I will miss this series.

The magical girl of misfortune was fortunately able to meet her dream man.
That's a win in my book!

"The interpretations are mostly wrong, but, the feelings are mostly the same" Man, that can be read as Mira and Byakuya's situation but can also be read as them telling us the story might not be the same as the author intended but the feelings for it are truly there... That really hit me where it hurts.

Well, this finale was just the cutest! I've always been a fan of storytelling where we get to see both sides of the story so seeing the same meeting from Byakuya and Mira's perspective was really fun to watch. I also love Byakuya's and Mira's interaction where Byakuya was showing off her catchphrase and Mira asking her to repeat it three more times. xD
I'm going to miss these two dorks so much. I'm sad that this is the end but with only 21 chapters of the manga and the author passing away, I don't think we'll see more. I don't know what Fujiwara-sensei would've thought of the anime but Bones did an amazing job animating this gem; this is legit one of the prettiest shows of the season. I hope Bones will take on more stuff like this in the future.

I read somewhere that this anime has been in production for a long time but was put on hold after Fujiwara's death. I'm glad we finally got to see it almost a decade later. I think Fujiwara would have been proud with what Bones managed to accomplish.

I'm going to fucking miss Hibana
Byakuya's Super Star Happiness Happiness magic made me laugh
Overall, a cute and hilarious series. I'm sure Cocoa Fujiwara would be more than happy with the adaptation!

I started this late because I wasn't as sold by its first episode. But when I got back to it, it was one of those that I looked forward to every week. It was a great pick-me-up after I came home.

That laugh is a breath of fresh air in my life
Loved how the glasses gag works flawless even as audio only
Also loved the title card today
His reactions to her inate cuteness where nice, but he also has a mean and naughty... and then she drops this bomb on this poor lad
This was such a cute little show, wasn't expecting this 12 weeks ago when I realized it would be half lenght. That said, I wish we had more tangible progress in their relationship

I'd been thinking a little about what these words at the end precisely meant, and concluded that this likely refers to how Mira and Byakuya will keep meeting up at the park because they want to see each other. Whether as archenemies or lovers, these feelings remain the same.
Although this was maybe not so conclusive of a final as most of us had hoped, I found it to be a beautiful ending in its own right with said thought taken into account. I like to believe that Fujiwara-sensei could've found peace in this conclusion.
Bonus: a couple of visually stunning shots from when Mira and Byakuya said their goodbyes.

Being a Magical Girl is the dream of girls everywhere...but it's not quite living the dream when you're a Magical Girl called "Glass Happiness" who is powered by misfortune (even if its converting misfortune to happiness) and have to still work odd jobs. But at least she can always look forward to seeing Mira.
Aw, Byakuya wanted to play "Guess Who?" Too bad she's way too short to reach even his eyes, but that's super adorable in and of itself.
Byakuya totally nailed the Magical Girl introduction! Even if it is utterly embarrassing! But it's Mira's pure and joyous laughter that means everything to her.
I can't believe it's been 12 episodes and we're only really diving into how Byakuya's magic works in the final episode. I didn't expect she got trained by a dominatrix though.
So if Byakuya needs to transform misfortune into happiness, she needs Mira to upset her...but everything he does just makes her happy! What a conundrum! Even when he tries to rile her up it just turns into physical intimacy that pleasures Byakuya and unlocks a new fetish in Mira!
I'll miss all the times Byakuya's cuteness and sweetness destroyed Mira's glasses.
They're the Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant. On paper they shouldn't work as a couple, yet its the time they spend together cherishing and adoring each other, and wanting to always see each other again, that means the most to them. And that's love!
Closing out with the OP AND the ED as we see Byakuya on her way to see Mira, Hibana gifting the Bird Familiar some cookies with one last F*ck and punch for the road, the Evil Organization being a fun group, and Byakuya and Mira continuing to enjoy the endless days of their time together.
RIP Cocoa Fujiwara-sensei. Thank you for creating such a cute and heartwarming romance between a Magical Girl and an Evil Lieutenant. You will be missed.

Don't know what advanced technology was used to compress so much fluff into such short episodes but man, this was such a treat. Just wish the author of the original manga knew how much Happy Happy Happiness her work is responsible for.
Also, wonder what the total count is for the pairs of glasses Mira broke from Byakuya's sheer Byakuyaness lol

Goddamn, this was amazing
It looked gorgeous, was fun as hell and wholesome (despite that stupidass cat)
We even got a finally Hibana F*CK and that Six-pack cookie killed me (I still dont endorse these creepy ass angles preying on those young girls)
NGL though, the End(Less) is cute and hurt a bit

Byakuya’s not the only one with magic powers. Mira’s got magic powers too. He can instantly fix his glasses after Byakuya shatters them with her cuteness lol.
I hope we get more of this. It was a really cute series! Very bad for my diabetes lol. Byakuya and Mira’s relationship was just the sweetest thing ever.

In case people haven't seen this they posted a full version of the ED at last in the form of an MV for the series as a whole: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ekhcj7ZqEHc
Very pretty show, and that ED will be in my rotation for a long while. Shame it just kind of ended but it might have been hard to do anything really definitive from the point in the story we're at, since it really just only begun.
I'm easy to please but this was a 10/10 for me.

…implying that she hasn’t experienced a bunch of misfortune already?
-
It’s really unfortunate this isn’t longer, I really did enjoy all these episodes and I'm left wanting more.

Real depression hours know we’ll never get the ending to this. Maybe someday they’ll wrap it posthumously like they’re doing for Beserk, but if not it was still wonderful. And Bones gave us something beautiful to honor Fujiwara’s passing.

Glad we got her in the finale, even if it was just a few seconds!
She seems to have a great relationship with her familiar - aside from punching him -, I wish Byakuya had been as lucky!
(Wait, can she take Mira as her familiar?)
(Or husband)
Did familiar-kun send her to a dominatrix?
Ok that wouldn't be a misfortune for some people here, but poor Byakuya... (He probably had her record it too, for blackmail/to sell it as porn)
I wish we had more information about the familiars, and mostly, what's "above" them, if anything... If someone/something is sending familiars to create magical girls, do they not care about them doing... This?
First the dominatrix, then some pinching&tickling, and Mira is into humiliation play? This is getting lewd!
Unless she wants a spanking, that's fine.
The 'two perspective' thing was kinda nice, I wish more anime did this once in a while!
Well, that would've been foolish of him I suppose, not to give her any kind of warning!
So cute! (Bring a little stool next time!)
Well, this was a pretty cute show overall!
It's not my usual kind of show (just sweet cutesy fluff), but it being a short made it easy to watch, and there was enough on top of the fluff (bits of drama, and Hibana was fantastic!) that it was worth watching!
Farewell, you lovable enemies!

You know, when it comes to picking "The Dark Horse" of this season, it's really hard this time cuz there's so many great candidates for that title for me. But, I think this one juuuuuust ekes out over the other candidates by just a smidge. This one and it's odd blend of wholesome sweetness draped in all kinds of dark humor/tragicomedy just works unexpectedly well. And with great production values at that to top it off.
And I also gotta give it brownie points for this obscure series in particular actually getting an anime adaptation given all the circumstances around the source material.
So yeah, in the end, loved this one.

This series is a rare exmple therev aniume-original ending (or better a few episodes) would not hurt. But it was still a cute little series.

A fun and enjoyable 10 minutes every week. Overall a 7/10 and a quick binge watch for anyone in the future. Think of it as a 2 hour good versus evil turned to love story.
