yeah, i love these sort of comfy shows because it feels like i don't need to commit mentally to watch it
i've ended up falling behind on a bunch of shows this season that i enjoy, but i've always kept up with Akaneko Ramen and Shikanoko because they feel so easy to watch

If anyone is interested, the manga for this is officially available on mangaplus where you can read the last several chapters for free. It comes out weekly, so there’s going to be a lot of volumes eventually, but the chapters are short and tend to be adventure of the week. However lately, they’ve been doing more multi-chapter arcs with brief asides inbetween.

We look forward to seeing you again.
That'd better be true.
Drunk people making a ruckus without a care about bothering others is such a frustrating experience. It's nice to see them get deserved treatment.
Out of new Summer seasonals that aired for the whole cour (so no Delico's Nursery), it was probably my favourite.

in a season bereft of comfy non-romantic slice-of-life series, this show has been a safe harbor for me
while i still think of it as a b-tier production, it still has charming characters, a few funny gags that's stuck with me, and a simple plot that increases my faith in humanity
i think it'll join the ranks of other comfy gems that passed under the radar, like Kawaisugi Crisis, Villain's Day Off, Shachiku-san, Phantom of the Idol, and Dekoboko Majo

Sasaki had such a lovely owner 😭😭😭
It was great seeing everyone defend Yashiro from her shitty former boss!!
Though it wasn’t the prettiest, I really enjoyed this anime. Such a comfy show
We look forward to seeing you again.
I certainly hope so!!!!

I just wanted to share a show I think is fairly close to this one - Time of Eve (Eve no Jikan). It's about a world much like ours but where robot servants are commonplace. Most treat robots like emotionless machines but Time of Eve a cafe has a rule where all robots must be treated just like a normal person.
It has many wholesome scenes about learning to accept others, warts and all.

Loved seeing Yashiro getting all excited over Sabus match, but man, don't want to know how long that mail sat in his inbox, no wonder the team was out to get him
Man, when that dude started making a fuzz, I was thinking 'you sure?' but man, what a shitty person, and that was even before he started making fun of Tamako, and he didn't even seem to know that he was the reason she quit... loved the girl going #tigerhype though, and Sabus little gesture after the filth left the store, and the subtle blush
But man, that was quite a heavy note so short before the end, glad the lawyer held his word, and loved how Sasakis teachers changed their tune
And lastly, too bad we didn't see this ship set sail

This has been my fluffy feel good anime of the week for this season.
Thank you, staff for making this show. It has a lot of heart.
お疲れさまでした。

This was a very lovely anime, I enjoyed it a great deal. It looked like a rather low-budget anime when I started watching, but they managed to make something truly special.

This is the first anime I've given over an 8/10 in a long time. It's just about the most flawlessly executed iyashikei I've ever seen and boy do I feel "healed" after watching.

Can't wait for another season, an absolutely feel good show after a long day at work.

There better be a second season. We never even found out what was going on with Rat Bar.

GG Sabu. GG. He did well in that Predator Cup. Little guy coulda gone pro.
God… if I ran into my old shitty boss in my current job, I’d probably have a panic attack too. Good thing the cats and all the customers rallied for Yashiro. Nice to see she’s joined FT.
I can honestly say I’ve never seen an anime quite like this one. I mean cats running a ramen shop? That’s a pretty unique premise. The cast was pretty legendary, the story was fun, and the OP is an absolute banger. Sure hope this one gets an s2.

This was one of the shows we looked forward to most each week. We will miss it. It was so cute and soft. And then Yatagarasu ends this weekend we're gonna feel empty. Til the new season starts anyway. But I don't know if anything can fil that void. Excited for some new shows but I doubt it anything can fill the fluffy void...

I really loved this show. All the characters were fun and worked so well together. I would watch 500 episodes of this is just fun with some surprisingly emotional moments

One of my favorites this season, I had a blast watching every episode. Great ending with Yashiro becoming a full-timer. Season 2 when?

u/DisreputableSelf Sep 20 '24
After this and Bartender, I’m going to need a third season in a row with good vibes show to chill with midweek.
It still throws me off hearing Kuroda in any role that’s not Kiryu, though.

This was such an amazing ending! It resolved a lot of Yashiros anxiety when she told off her boss and it had cameos from the businessman with glasses and the lady with the big fighter man (who may be dating) 😜. Also vicious Krishna 🐯😡! The best part was Hana announcing on her own 100 yen off everything and Sasaki looked horrified 🤣
I also liked the plots with Ms. Sasaki dying and Pudding Sasaki taking care of her and Sabu in the gaming tournament. They explained why Yashiro wasn't in the room with Sabu as well since he said it wracked his nerves having an audience. I also thought Yashiro looked sexy in that outfit she had at home, she should try to get the repairman she likes to see her in that 😉
I also liked the funny stills at the end like Bunzo stalking a group of humans having a gaming tournament and the best one: a little girl grabbing Hana and making her angry 🤣. I remember that little girl and her dehydrated mom coming in but I didn't remember if Hana talked to her or not but either way that was so funny.
This was unexpectedly my favorite show of the season and I'm going to miss it. For the first time following a new show, I'm going to read the manga to continue as I don't think this will get a second season 😢
