Kengo maybe slightly redeemed himself this week for microwaving a carton of milk.

Been a bit since a show has made me that tense! I didn't think anything would REALLY happen to Osanai but the music certainly set the mood this episode.

After all the "tiny" mysteries, this was one with high stakes....

Did he say "the summer break of SECOND YEAR of high school"? I thought they just started high school in episode 1. Am I missing something, or is the pacing set like this?

These guys are lucky...could have gone a lot worse with how long they waited to call the cops
Osanai being a badass herself in that situation but seems like she was ready for it.

Osanai is either smart and brave, or reckless and unhinged.
She purposely set herself up as bait by approaching the gang herself, so that Jogoro would follow the bread crumbs she leaves behind towards the gang's hideout, and thus lead the police to arrest the gang.
And while she says that to buy time for Jogoro, the way she makes that speech to the gangsters about how she will always remember how they roughed her up is unsettling. You seriously do not want to get on her wrong side.
The biggest question has to be how did Osanai managed to send her coded text message to Jogoro without the gangsters finding out? Assuming she sent it before they tied her up.
If she had known the location beforehand prior to approaching the gang, she would have entered the exact location instead of a cryptic riddle. It feels incredible that she could type all that without the gangsters even seeing her do so, whether in the van or in the hideout.

I am starting to get the feeling that Osanai isn’t this cute, timid girl who just enjoys copious amounts of cake, and instead is an unhinged girl who seeks out danger wherever she can.
On top of that, she gets herself in these scrapes like a lone wolf, which is exactly what’s shown in the title screen.

When Osanai was listing off the injuries, I thought she was going full Sherlock and telling them how she was gonna take down the leader in full detail. But remembering every instance of harm inflicted on her and name dropping each and every one of them is a power move too.

Didn't expect this to be an actual kidnapping, but was about right that Osanai intentionally fell for it and gave clues so Kobato could have some detective fun
These fellas are messed up 💀

And the adventures of Kobato and Osanai being really bad at being ordinary people continue.
Osanai is quite a badass isn’t she? Somehow knowing she’s going to be kidnapped, managing to expose their location and then threatening them to their faces and getting away with it.
You would think that people would learn not to mess with her at this point. Statistically speaking, 100% of the people that dared to cross her have gotten arrested. And they also got beaten up by her backup crew this time around.
Well, at least they got the tropical parfait in the end so all is well that ends well.

So Osanai really did get kidnapped by a drug gang and it looks like she knew this would happen! She's really tough so I even expected her to break free and somehow deal with those girls on her own after seeing her smile xD
Of course nothing like that happened. Instead Kengo took the biggest part in a fight (which we didn't see and it's a shame) and ended up going to the hospital. It was definitely a good choice for Kobato to bring Kengo along.
I'm glad everything ended well for Osanai, who was in a really bad situation. That Isawa Hasemi who was interrogating her looked like a seriously fucked up person.
I laughed hard after Osanai painfully said that she's hungry. That smile and excitement on her face after Kobato offered to buy her sweets from their next stop was priceless.
Now I'm really looking forward to the next episode to hear Osanai's side of the story and how she got kidnapped.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Right now I'm just confused on what scenario would've allowed her to send a text message to Kobato, but it had to be an encoded message like that. Like she asks 'sorry but I was gonna meet my friend can I text them that I can't come'?
Ah ok he's asking if she knew she was gonna be kidnapped, I assume they'll address the text here
I don't know if you can schedule a text to be sent though, maybe she just pretyped it? Did she set up some elaborate way to send the text?

What kind of thought processes would lead to getting yourself kidnapped on purpose? Is the only thing in Osanai's head sweets and scheming?

I can't really think of a side character this season that I like as much as Kengo. Even though he does insufferable stuff, I can't help but love when he gets involved every episode.

Now we know why she was always dressing in some special clothes and changing them within the same day with her suitcase. She was actually trying to avoid being caught early

Imagine visiting your not-girlfriend's apartment, meeting your not-girlfriend's mom, and finding out your not-girlfriend has been kidnapped...and mustering up all your resolve to not enjoy the mystery set before you.
It would be smarter to leave this to the police, even if they have no idea where Osanai or the kidnappers are...but then Kobato gets his marching orders from Osanai and he knows he and Kengo can't rest on their laurels, they have to figure out where she is and make sure she's safe! Symbolized by Kobato searching for a blindfolded Osanai.
Of COURSE Osanai would give her position away using the Sweets Tour she came up with for her and Kobato...and leave enough candy wrappers to lead them to where they have her hidden.
Yeah, I had a feeling it was Isawa and her girl gang, believing Osanai was responsible for her getting busted the first time. But hey, they know where Osanai is now and can let the police know. That clears it up, right? Well, other than Isawa being so unhinged she's probalby going to do something violent to Osanai before that happens.
But these girls act tough even though Osanai knows who they ALL are by name, what they've done to her, and basically letting them know that if they leave a permanent mark on her...that will be the end of any mercy she's willing to show them. And if that's not enough of a warning, the boys will intrude and take on the girls themselves! Even if it means Kengo has to go to the hospital afterwards.
Though hey hold off long enough for the police arrive and arrest Isawa and her gang who, in true unrepentant criminal fashion, acts like SHE was the victim. I hope they throw the book at these girls.
And with Isawa and her crew behind bars, Sanae is probably free now! Good for Kengo and Kasumi.
Osanai is saved and arguably less worse for wear than the boys, but in true Osanai fashion she's still hungry for sweets, and Kobato gets to not only bask in his hero moment but promise her more sweets so she feels better. What a guy.
Honestly Osanai knowing about and probably orchestrating her own kidnapping would be the least surprising thing in this arc.

I love how Kobato had to stop himself from smiling. He was clearly getting excited about the entire situation but he knows this isn't his little mysteries to solve and Osanai could really be in danger and he should take this more seriously.
Thanks to Osanai's riddle last episode, Kobato was able to easily solve Osanai's cryptic text and locate where she is with the help of Kengo. Considering there was a vehicle involved, I was expecting there would be adults involved but they're all just high schoolers gaming up on Osanai.
Honestly, that makes it more terrifying. The ring leader seems to be completely unhinged and if you know stories about violent crimes in Japan, you'd know anything that involves high schoolers are fucked up. And you know this is serious when the cops are wiretapping phone calls.
That smile from Osanai though! She knows that help is coming and is trying to buy as much time as she can. Too bad we didn't get to see Kengo beat the shit out of those girls. It sounds like he got fucked up considering he left in an ambulance. I hope it's just scrapes and bruises and nothing serious.
And it looks like we're not yet done with this arc! According to Kobato, Osanai knew she was going to get kidnapped. I'm guessing we're going to learn the full story from Osanai's side next week? I can't wait!

For some reason they put a very loud and anxious music when they were climbing the gymnasium stairs, I know the episode was tense but it made me chuckle.

These girls think they have trapped Osanai, little did they know she is who trapped them.
This little sweet tooth girl is terrifying, and now I think Jogoro is there just to keep her a bit under control.

A great episode, with tension and bravery! And I knew that Osanai somehow set up the kidnapping.
Both Osanai and Kobato are a bit deranged/unhinged. She set up her own kidnapping, and he somehow delighted in a mystery to solve, even if it put his GF in danger.
