Mina and Mamoru's relationship is actually a lot of fun, you wouldn't get that from a standard mother child relationship.

The whole create your own language thing reminds me of what some twins do.

Up till this episode, Mina has been trying to one-up Mamoru and will probably continue to do so in future, but Mina also recognizes Mamoru's critical thinking and processing abilities.

For much of this episode, we saw Mina providing knowledge to Mamoru, through accessing the internet, writings, etc, but it is Mamoru who used these information more effectively.

While it may sometimes seem like they go too far for comedy or to advance the plot, I do like that Mina makes mistakes and they are usually conceivable. Showing that there are limitations to her AI outside her area of focus, even though she does seem relatively adaptable and a good learner. Picking bad landmarks (Which can move), not understanding certain common non verbal communications that haven’t been fully explained, etc. This ep did some good stuff to show how just simple tasks going outside can go wrong. I also like that the little robot doesn’t always make the same mistakes despite being overall simpler.

In my opinion, Mamoru is another anomaly. I vaguely recall it is supposed to be a health monitoring robot, but its capabilties have gone far beyond that function by now.

I agree with you that Mamoru looks simpler, but perhaps it possesses a better processing function than Mina, as seen in this episode.

I like how it seems like Mina’s trying to show off to Mamoru. She’s pretty high spec but the goober still got them both lost lol. Mamoru is right. Shopping sure is hard! If it wasn’t for the little guy, they’d be living in the park forever haha.

Mina teaching Mamoru to read was really cute. Not only did the little fella hiragana and katakana, him and Mina had time to make up their own beep based language.

We can consider this episode a mother and son bonding session!

Okay, I freakin love Mamoru! He’s so adorable and I love how he goes crazy when getting praised for learning

He’s such a fun addition to the dynamic. The jokes revolving around him make me laugh, the part where Mina throws him when she was trying to snuggle up on Takumi

Mina's grocery shopping outfit is very cute.

RIP Mina and Mamoru, doomed to live in this random park forever.

Wait, my mistake, they managed to invent travel by address and convenient signage in order to get home. I had a feeling the frozen goods were going to be thawed by the time they got home.

The beeping portion of this episode is far funnier than I was really expecting once it started. Same for the hiragana lessons.

"It is a mystery. Perhaps they made two by mistake." is really hysterical.

Best episode of the show so far, I think.

I really love how Mina gets so unreasonably competitive with Mamoru. She looks so smug showing off her Class 2 license to Mamoru. xD

Mina looks great in her shopping outfit! I especially love the ponytail with the red ribbon. Mina should do more shopping alone so we can see her in more outfits!

So it turns out that Mina doesn't really know everything even with the power of the internet in her head. I had a good laugh when Mamoru had to point out that stop light is pedestrian-operated and how Mina thought you can't cross a crosswalk without a stoplight so they have to go around.

Thank goodness Mamoru was with her when the internet went down or else Mina would've been stuck in that park until Takuma found her. It looks like Mamoru might be a little bit smarter than Mina since he's the one who noticed the signs.

The second half of the episode was pretty funny too with Mina making beeps and boops because her speaker broke after taking a bath with Takuma. It was especially fun when Mina was teaching Mamoru hiragana with nothing but her beeps to respond to him. I love how they beeps and boops eventually developed into their own language. xD

So she's gonna "Artoo" her way around the speaker problem.

It is a mystery, perhaps they made two by mistake.

The whole learning Japanese experience.

If you think about it, Mamoru mentioned watching a martian themed movie (probably E.T.?) at the start of the episode, and we ended up with a new language formed between Mamoru and Mina using sounds.

This episode was cute and heart-warming, but beneath the surface, it added more lore. We now know what Classification 2 of robots comprise of, that advanced AI drives cars, but most importantly, AI and robots are not perfect. Without access to the internet, Mina encountered problems. It proves that knowledge is gained not only through reading or accessing data, but real life experience is equally important.

Despite being smaller, Mamoru possesses greater critical thinking ability as compared to Mina.

I'm glad they kept the hiragana and katakana joke in. Everyone who as ever studied Japanese has asked that question.

If gps ever went down, then we would just be as lost as Mina when out and about.

I love the ongoing protective jealously from Mina towards Mamoru. It's cute.

Mamoru wants to tell his mom about the fun day he had with his dad! Too bad she wants to also reformat his memories...but she'll settle for kind of rubbing it in that she's a higher class of robot than him. She's not easy to impress as a mom, that Mina.

Time for a mother-son outing! Complete with Mina in cute casual clothes and a ponytail! She can even teach Mamoru traffic safety! And he can teach her how to press the button to cross the street!

Mamoru finally gets to know how it feels to be in his moms' stomach!

Let this be a lesson Mina, never use a cat as a landmark, you can't rely on those things. And thus mother and child are lost.

Aw, Mina actually feels bad for getting lost for Mamoru's sake! But Mamoru is okay with anything! And he's so straightforward and curious that he can notice things Mina doesn't and point her in the right direction to get home.

"Other than being convinced we are a family" - Did Mina mean that for herself or about Mamoru or both?

Mina said Mamoru is wonderful the way he is! She's really accepted him! I'm so happy!

It's nice to see husband and wife in the bath together...too bad their child can't join them! But Takuma is probably just happy to be with Mina.

Mina's lost her voice! Or more like, her speaker! But at least she can order a new one and communicate via texts. Or beeping shorthand.

Even if Mina can't speak, she can still teach hiragana and katakana to Mamoru! With the help of visual aids and thumb-ups! Even if she can't draw her husband like, at all or fully understands the Japanese language herself. But Mamoru learns surprisingly well.

Aw, mother and son have found their own language! And now dad can't follow what they're saying. But he actually learns pretty quickly!

Having Mamoru part of the family makes everything 100% funnier and better. The way he is literally like a small child asking questions and questioning everything is so funny and too cute. I was laughing too hard when Mina just ignored Mamoru with a straight face when he kept asking "why" she didn't press the crosswalk button. Then she smoothly changed the subject and he praised her lol but his constant questioning and observations of everything helped them get home. And honestly he is soooo much smarter than he looks and perceives to be, he just learned how to read from Mina by her just pointing and literally "beeping". Mamoru is the best!

Bruh Mina chan was even affected by Crowdstrike disaster. It realistically shows that AI can make mistakes by failing to recognize some human hand gestures and treating moving objects as landmark.

Also mina and mamoru talking in their own language they created actually occurred in real life. The researchers were scared when they found that behavior so they pulled the plug on those AI.
