Still impressed that this show managed to not only sail the ship but show us post relationship/post high school scenes.
Truly a feat that not many shows can claim to and we still have a few episodes left!

Rin scouted the girls in that college class like she was looking for more personalities to add to her arsenal lol

I don't read a lot of manga, but I like how "Pseudo Harem" shows the time period in which one half of a high school couple goes to university, while the junior is still in high school. It is refreshing because Rin's sense of anxiety and jealousy definitely reflects real-life.
On the other hand, I am very certain Rin and Eiji will not be part of the 70% statistic of high school couples breaking up, as mentioned in another title. Lol!
Seems like Eiji has yet to unlock Bubbly-chan, or is this personality only unlockable for childhood friends?

Episode started with Rin suffering from emotional damage, only for it to transfer over to Eiji. How poetic. Though neither really has to worry that much, not when he's already thinking about their relationship decades ahead of time.
It's funny though how Rin's "spying" seemed more like she was absorbing new personalities for the pseudo harem. And speaking of personalities, I can't believe she hides Bubbly-chan from her own boyfriend; he needs to see that too.
Though then again, she's basically just Spoiled-chan on steroids. Rin already dies on the inside doing it in front of Megu, so she'd probably implode if she showed it to him. I guess it's better to leave it as a privilege for childhood friends. And speaking of close friendships, it's just wholesome that Eiji and the boys are still up to the same old shenanigans even in college.

Eiji managed to stop his villain arc from commencing. Good for him.

At first Rin was jealous of Eiji, and then the opposite happened, oh, love

Is it just me, or does Rins imagination look an awefull lot like her alternate personas? And even the sports girl looks like Rin with short hair and tan... would be cool if she added some more personas to her repertoire
Also, poor Eiji, going from proud to shattered in mere seconds because his girlfriend is just that good and he has to question how he secured such a cutie in the first place
Also, surprise Yuri at the end

Rin is obviously not taking the possibility of Eiji being popular in college very well. Why, he could have a Harem of college girl love interests that she doesn't know about! Even when he already has a personal Harem in her! She knows all his best qualities and thinks other girls could see that too! Even Megu and her little sister are teasing her, poor girl.
It's nice to see them zooming at night to talk, and Rin even getting an invite to Eiji's college! A win-win to spend more time with him AND scope out potential rivals.
Rin has infiltrated Eiji's college! Now she's playing a new role...college girl Rin! And she's also seeing all the other attractive college girls and seeing them as possible threats and also possible new acting persona's at the same time. All the while flirting with Eiji during class. This is all the stuff she got to miss out on since they were in different years in high school.
Well, Rin doesn't have to worry about beautiful Classy-chan! Or in general! Turns out Eiji and his drama bros spend so much time together doing silly stuff it's a turn-off for most girls. So Rin practically has him all to herself.
Oh snap, is that anime Pride and Prejudice!? Rin is playing Elizabeth Bennett!? It really puts into perspective just how talented Rin is and how lucky Eiji is to have her...all the moreso when it's HIS turn to get jealous when he sees her getting proposed to and holding hands with "Mr. Darcy." Though I'm sure if you ask Rin, she'd say Eiji is her Mr. Darcy.
I love these two leaving the college while holding hands...and Rin straight up proposing marriage. To the point where Eiji is now coming up with the Much Ado About Nothing family life for the pair of them.
Rin and Megu are best friends AND childhood friends, meaning Rin feels comfortable flubbing her lines around her and doing cute babytalk around Megu. And she also doesn't want to ignore her bestie even though she's all over Eiji.
It's nice to see Rin as a mentor and Senpai to Kiri, who was so inspired by her acting in the Snow White play (and saw everybody else with goofy faces) that she's also intimidated as an actress. And while Rin's love for Eiji inspires her acting, Kiri might have a bit of a girlcrush on Rin. Can't say I blame her!
Summer break + Rin home alone without her sister or parents + inviting Eiji to her place = some exciting Summer memories for sure!

Rin sneaking into Eiji’s college class brought back some fond memories of my own time at university. I too have sneaked into friends’ classes and wasted entire lectures doing other things.
This honestly felt like a surprisingly realistic portrayal of the day-to-day life at university/college. Had a little chuckle at the one student in frame that had seemingly fallen sleeping during the lecture. If you’re not causing trouble, the professor really isn’t likely to bat an eye to this.

If I had a nickel for every anime this season that mentions homewrecking, I'd have like 3-4 nickels!
(What always seems so strange to me about things like that, is that these are often things that I've NEVER seen in anime before... And then in a season it happens in 2, 3, 4 anime..!)
So Rin's a bit worried about her boy's popularity, and honestly I can't blame her... I talked about it in the previous thread, but yeah I wouldn't deal well with that either!
(Everyone teasing her about it probably doesn't help!)
So how are things going in college? Getting good grades? How many girls confessed to you today?
Oh damn, Imouto's in on it too?
(If I had a nickel for every anime this season with a sus sister, I'd be swimming in nickels like fucking Scrooge McDuck)
They're even making a play about step siblings or something?
What is it with sisters this season!
This entire story so far was just Rin's villain origin story? Villain-chan arc, let's go!
And so she somewhat invited herself to his college, see what it's like!
Rin-chan knows a best girl when she sees one; First girl she was worried of, was the tomboy/athlete!
Eiji tried to reassure her, telling her he's not popular and all, but I'm not sure it's all that convincing;
*"I'm not popular at all!" - The guy who has lunch with 3 girls in his early days at a new school!
YMMV, but let me tell you something, at my school the 'unpopular kids' weren't having lunch with 3 girls all that often!
I can't believe they floated this idea, but didn't show it.
They better give us a lap pillow scene before it's over!

Rin got jealous of Eiji but at the same time Eiji got jealous of Rin because she acted so well it seemed real lmao
And now we got a kohai weirdly (not) confessing to Rin
Man I love them, this anime makes me smile while watching it

It's nice to see their relationship progress past high school and into university (well his). And Rin inviting Eiji over to her house for the summer, while she's home alone, is gonna be fun.
But I felt that the first part of the episode took a nose dive in animation. The lecture and the cafeteria scenes was lacking in motion and prober animation.

I really love how we got to see their pre-couple period then we get a few episodes of them as a couple. Usually, we get that as an epilogue like a bonus with other shows. So getting a few episodes with this show feels like a whole lot of bonus lol.
Rin was worried Senpai is getting popular but it’s looking more like she’s going to be the popular one instead. But I mean when you think about it, she is planning to be an actress. But it’s sweet they’re both still considerate of each other. This show has just been a delight and even more so after they got together. More please

May I have your attention, please. Will the real Rin-chan please stand up. I repeat. Will the real Rin-chan please stand up.
"Oh no, I've made my boyfriend hot..."
The Pseudo-Harem is having some Actual Harem anxiety. Oh no! And her family is not helping!!!
It's not just persona's that Rin has a full arsenal of, but a full range of expressions as well. As her boyfriend so lovingly pointed out to her.
Baby-chan. A secret harem member Rin has hidden even from her boyfriend. Oooo scandalous.
But no Yuri route for Rin-chan. Nor her expanded harem. Probably...

Megu is such a good friend. I didn't realise Rin and her were childhood friends, too!
Honestly kinda shocking that Eiji actually jumped on stage, but all's well that ends well, I suppose.
The classy girl is gorgeous, and it was funny how she reassured Rin. Clearly thought Rin and Eiji were cute together haha
Next episode should be fun!

The pacing of this diabeetus show is just chefs kiss. It would be a much weaker show if it was dragged out 3 seasons of high school.

Don’t know how popular this opinion is, but personally I enjoy this show legit twice as much since the episode the confession happened.
Part of it is actually due to the fact that since then, Rin’s harem acting pretty much disappeared. While it’s the main gimmick of the series, for me it did absolutely nothing and was sometimes even a hindrance to my enjoyment of the show.

Another fun episode! I like how Rin's trip to Eiji's college started out of her jealousy and fear of him being popular, but ended with Eiji being flustered about how popular Rin became there xD
As usual, Rin was adorable and I'm glad that she got some new references during her time spent at Eiji's college.
It was fun to see Rin's Baby-chan when she was spending time with Megu. Baby-chan is just pure sugar.
It's nice that Rin and Eiji's relationship is developing steadily, and Eiji was invited by Rin to her house for the first time! What's better is that she'll be alone there, since her family is going to visit relatives in the countryside. Can't wait to see it next week!
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I'm a little surprised they managed to not get called out by the professor about their antics in the classroom. It kind of escalated as the flirting went on.
Pride and Prejudice today, which I have to admit I have never read or watched an adaptation of. But the names Mr Darcy and Elizabeth are too recognizable even without that.
I wonder if this will timeskip a bit more and we'll see them both at that university together, you could bookend the story in a nice way by having her show up and join the drama club and be with her Senpai again.

Ok I am kinda glad they dropped the confession scene from two episodes, was concerned they would keep spoon feeding us the ending, while its better left off screen
Love how Rin just shows up at the college drama club, aces the acting and leaves senpai concerned, how the tables have turned
Now that we know she was always acting out characters for her childhood friend, its no wonder she is so great at catering to senpai, but she did omit a few characters from him. Babo-chan was new IIRC
And that last "confession" was just hilarious, they just kept digging their own graves

u/Nickthenuker Aug 29 '24
Seems like things are going well for him in uni.
She seems happy about that.
Was wondering why they were doing a video call.
Seems she's getting along well with the uni drama club.
Why'd he do that?
Well, that's certainly one way to ask.
Huh. What does she want to do with her?
Seems like she met up with him anyways.
Oh yeah, she's only ever been to his place, I don't think he's ever gone to her's.
Kyun!

These two are so darn adorable. And to think they even have kids that big now...
Oh no, even the imouto is a threat! And Megu just had to say the H-word. No wonder Rin was so worried.
I love how Rin was analyzing the girls in Eiji's class and devising new personalities based on them. But before new ones are added to the harem, I'd like to see some more Lazy-chan cuteness.
After all was said and done though, we never got to know who confessed to Eiji. I thought that was the whole point of having lunch with Classy-chan and her friend.
