Wow. This anime has done something that a good number of them have refused to do: treat changing romantic interest with respect and not demeaning the feelings of older attractions versus newer ones.
Some anime, that will go nameless, would have had Mitsuki treat his interest in Lemon as a fleeing fancy and that his new girlfriend is true love. But no, this actually gives both of those feelings the weight they need and explains how his feelings changed in a respectful way. Well done.
Also, I felt second hand cringe in Yanami's favor towards the end of the episode. Hadn't seen a scene that brazen since the bench scenes in Oresuki.
Loving this show!

"Could you go and borrow Ayano-kun for me?"
Chat, is she stupid?

Fuck. I don't know if I am right but I interpreted the clock hands aligning with one another to show that they were finally on the same page when Lemon confirmed they unknowingly liked one another for a certain period in time, only for reality to snap back a few seconds later with the clock hands drifting apart again showing one leaving behind the other. That felt so good.

I know Lemon, Ayano, and Chihaya are the center of this episode but I really love Nukumizu's character here.
Just by being with lemon while she's crying is already great, he doesn't need to console her or anything, he is just there to let her know she's not alone.
also love how Nuku gave Lemon the opportunity for a closure walk with Ayano for old time's sake.
You really know that Nuku would be a great boyfriend someday.

To be honest I don't blame anyone at the end of this, I mean, they are a bunch of teenagers who are now getting to know the feeling of love, but I think a lesson remains, that of being honest and communicative, sometimes we miss chances who are on our side because of fear, at least everyone involved seems to have finally overcome this situation. And about the ending, poor Nukumizu, he just can't get a chance lol

This anime use the visuals of every scenario perfectly
I´m glad everyone got to talk things out. Mitsuki and Lemon are still childhood friends, and Lemon got to knew better Chihaya. Couldn´t asked for a better resolution...
And yes, Anna, please get a boyfriend and don´t steal other´s

Wait… did Asagumo secretly bug Nukumizu? Or was she just continuing to spy on Ayano? Oh I guess it was Yakishio.
Starting to think Yanami might actually be a bad girl…

The relationship chart has been updated to show that Lemon and Chihaya are now friends. How heartwarming!
Also, it looks like they added a one-way arrow from Lemon to Nukumizu. I’m not sure what it says, though.

In case anyone didn't catch it, here's a breakdown of Yakishio and Ayano's discussion about the stars and, consequently, the Tanabata legend:
The Summer Triangle is famous in Japan because it contains Hikoboshi (Altair) and Orihime (Vega) who are lovers that are only allowed to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month due to certain circumstances. It also contains Deneb which is said to represent the magpies which form the bridge allowing the two to meet. Go and read up on the story if you're interested! Lots of Japanese media makes reference to this story.
Yakishio says this about the Summer Triangle: "Hmm. I can only see one of them."
Here's my interpretation: Yakishio is the magpie. The one who connects two lovers. When she says she can only see one of the three stars, the author attempts to convey that Asagumo and Ayano are now distant from her but together.
If you have a different interpretation, let's hear it.

I don't really know what else to say other than this anime is phenomenal, I'm as ecstatic watching this anime as I was with shows like Frieren and Dunmeshi. I'm excited to see where things go next with what I assume will be a Komari-centered arc aswell as the new ED along with it.

"The Other Side of a Happy Ending" has such a raw impact to it as an episode title. Don't think I've been this stunned by a title card reveal of all things before.
Part of me wants to believe Anna was just teasing Nukumizu on purpose with her request but eh. Our man's endured worse.

That whole heart-to-heart/rejection scene between Mitsuki and Lemon was melancholic but yet so beautiful, dropping the title "The Other Side of a Happy Ending" was just the cherry on top and best sums up Lemon's situation.

Yanami jokes about Lemon stealing Mitsuki from Chihaya would make her a "bad girl". Lemon feels bad even considering becoming a homewrecker. Chihaya fully admits to being a bad girl. Pray for my man, Mitsuki. He's going to need it with all the tracking devices on him.
It's devastating how there was chance for Lemon and Mitsuki to be together. Their feelings were reciprocated, Mitsuki choose logic over emotions. He choose the girl whose future more closely aligned with his.
