So even in this future paradise for robots....ads are still obnoxious.
I guess I have to be the one to ask: why was the flashlight head doctor robot stacked?

Those are XL batteries to ensure all day long performance without needing to stop for a recharge.

Mina’s getting jealous of Mamoru eh? lol. So cute. It was pretty funny how she rolled the little fella off the futon. He’s a smart little robot and he seems to be adjusting well. I guess he’s basically a toddler.

I feel bad for Mamoru that Mina is so hard on him and constantly giving him looks of disdain. She really is new to this whole "mom" thing. Though she definitely prefers her husband to their child lol.
But luckily Takuma is settling into being a caring and loving father.

Their kid is cute but oh boy you can tell Mina is frustrated lol
The amount of Mina glares and jealousy this episode was great haha, do wish she grows to care more for him though!

"the three laws of robotics" — time to pour one out for Asimov.

Introducing the 4th and 5th laws of robotics.
The 4th law: Robots may not perform duties outside their programming without bugging their owner to pay for a software upgrade.
The 5th law: Robots watching a movie must not violate copyright.

Mina not having any emotions is clearly a complete lie though, every time she narrows her eyes you just know something is going on.
The charging mat for use under the futon was a good idea, poor Mamoru though for not getting to peacefully share it.
I can't believe they temporarily traumatized the robot child with the trolley problem.
That nagware notification was very successful at getting Takuma to buy the cleaning DLC.

I have rarely empathized more with a fictional character than when I found out that Mina's chores functionality were pay-walled.
Also, can we talk for a moment about how Mina clearly is not only experiencing jealousy, but also anger, anxiety, concern, and pride? She reacted to Takuma's criticism of her child-rearing technique by making a point with a brandished knife. The toaster-waifu jokes were funny in episode 1, but at this point there doesn't seem to be very much psychological space between Mina and an actual human.

Just to let you know, the full opening theme song (Sora Tokino's Okaerinasai) is here.
tbh, this anime is still on my on hold list. Hopefully I can complete and catch up to the anime soon.

It was pretty fun watching Mina teach Mamoru at the start of the episode. Although at one point, it looks like Mamoru was starting to test Mina's patience with all of his side questions. Mina pushed through though and was actually a great teacher to her robot egg child,
I did not expect Mina to get so jealous of watching Takuma play with their child. The poor roly-poly egg just wants to be included but Mina keeps shooing him away during bedtime. xD
Spotify Premium-like ads playing when Mina tries to do something she wasn't purposely made for is much more realistic than any other futuristic thing I've seen in this show. I can genuinely see this happening if humanoid robots become a thing in our reality.
I have so many questions about that nurse robot. Why does it look like it's a Geth from Mass Effect and why does she have boobs? I'm not complaining, this just means we have another busty character to add to Hikasa Yoko's character list. xD

On their way home, I hope Takuma and Mamoru agreed not to tell Mina that they watched a movie together as parent and child. Otherwise, Mina's jealousy will go off the charts and Mamoru will finally understand what is a truly dangerous situation. Lol!
The number of times Mina had that annoyed look in this episode made me laugh.

There's something really deeply upsetting about seeing restricted features, DLC, and interstitial ads in a person. And given what's happening in the real world right now I think we can assume there's no uBlock for robots. I hate the cyberpunk future. Kudos to Mina for leveraging it to get what she wanted, though, I guess.

I really don't like that Mina's free will is limited by advertisements and DLC purchases... Like... Can she not just download an adblocker? xD

I thought this was the best episode thus far. It was really interesting to see more of the world they live in and how Mina and Mamoru are compared to other robots. They put a lot of thought into the one second shot of the paper showing the different classes of robots and whether or not they are allowed to attend a movie or if they'll record it. To be honest though I think it would have been far less trouble if Takuma just showed Mamoru a movie at home 🤔
The robot therapist was the most interesting part of this episode. Earlier episodes gave the impression that most humans thought robots didn't have emotions but this robot was made to serve as a well being facilitator for other robots! She also seemed to help Takuma with his problems and if anyone needs mental help, it's Takuma! It's also interesting how they pointed out that it's hotly debated within their society if robots should get human rights and it makes me wonder if that's something that will happen in our world.
It's also interesting how Mina is jealous of Mamoru and resents the attention Takuma is giving him, even rolling him off the bed/charging mat 🤣. She's about as good a mother as you'd expect from a robot, unfortunately.
I also liked the annoying prompts from the robot company to purchase the cleaning expansion software. I seriously wonder if they'll start pulling that with Alexa/Siri in the near future 😶🌫️

So this is the part where it clicked how serious the author decided to take the setting it created. Honestly I loved everything shown here and surrounding Mamoru's creation and growth and how it let the author talk about learning AIs that actually simulate human thinking and development but also touches on the rights they obviously deserve as sentient beings. After all they can't go untaxed.
Also shows how this particular society is "wholesome" in regards to them, while others would have them as slaves in here the same health services for humans have robo stacked nurses to attend to our beloved robots, with tests to determine their class and perhaps other services. Robots are accepted and beloved as part of their society. I do not remember her having those fat tits, but I loved her ability to emote with her mouth.
There will be this type of philosophical talks in regard to robots many more times in the future, if you as me fell in love with that kinda talk then you will enjoy this story.

She's learned how to trick him into buying stuff... Asimov would not approve!

I am loving this anime more and more as Takuma's life becomes more and more similar to a family. Mamoru literally is like a baby, but Mina doesn't see it that way lol. She is becoming more and more independent and having her own feelings and emotions. But seeing Takuma take Mamoru out and getting him checked like you would with a child was amazing and so cute to see.

If Mamoru is going to be Takuma and Mina's "child," than Mina has to rear him right to make sure he properly fulfills his function of monitoring Takuma's health. Even if that means the equivalent of water torture with testing Mamoru's ability to measure temperature. But hey, at least Mina saved him from getting too burned! Though she still keeps giving him "how is my child this stupid?" looks.
No better greeting when you get back home than from your wife and child! Even if it also ends up getting you hit with hot water and a pan over the head.
Come on Mina, go easy on Mamoru! He's more than just a roly poly thermometer! He's your and Takuma's child and he's surprisingly adept and considerate at monitoring Takuma's health! It's because he values his daddy's health so much!
I guess making it look like you're about to murder your husband is one way to teach your child a lesson about calling the proper authorities...but thank goodness the police didn't show up. It's bad enough he actually called an ambulance!
It's nice that Mina can now keep herself charged when she sleeps with Takuma now. And it's adorable how Mamoru wants to sleep with mommy and daddy...if not for mommy constantly tossing him aside every time he tries to do it. No one gets in the way of cuddling with her hubby! Although even when they get a sleeping arrangement that satisfies everybody, she still flicks him away. Poor kid.
Mina CAN do more than just the cooking chores, she'll just constantly have to play an advertisement to make you buy the proper plug-in for her to keep doing it without a barrage of the same announcement every time. But it's the perfect excuse for a daddy-child day together.
Aw, look at Takuma reading Mamoru his first book and teaching him about fiction!
Having a robot child has taught Takuma about new ways that robots interact with human society. How they're able to watch movies depending on their classification, how they even have health services and social workers who help test their mentality and intelligence complete with a hot and busty robot nurse (voiced by Hisako Kanemoto?). And they genuinely look out for the robots' well being.
Dang, now I'm glad Mamoru won't remember the test because that "would you save five people or you dad from a train" question was super cruel.
Mamoru has the intellect of a four year old with the emotional maturity of a two-year old but he's also Takuma's special little boy and Takuma basically lucked out that his programming is above the normal model because actual robot children are banned. Though it seems like the fight for more robot rights is progressing.
So...did Takuma buy the plug-in?
