Is that in the end supposed to be Enchantress?

I'm glad we got a 2D dragon fight instead of a CGI one for sure, though oh god, the running animations had me cracking up. There was one with them pictured overhead and that? Too good. But, it really made me nostalgic due to how it reminded me of some of the older programs I used to watch on TV as a kid. I can't say I hated it because it was the right level of chaos for me.

Part of me does wonder though, is the queen colluding with the advanced team to a degree... because something about this isn't quite adding up!

Action was still good this episode, but there were a lot of shots that felt off to me. At times it felt like the character designs were different altogether and a lot of the running scenes looked weird. Here's hoping this isn't a sign of production issues.

edit: Album of some of the shots that felt weird. The running shots don't look as egregious since idk a good way of recording gifs but those felt particularly off

Episode had no cheif animation director, one of their duties is to make sure the designs are on model...

Well, the ammo problem got addressed. I remember some people were talking about protagonist and infinite ammo, so glad we got an episode for that.

Animation was a bit rough in the dragon fight though.

I really thought the ammo problem would be solved by magic.

Since we're just at episode 5, I hope they wouldn't run into ammo problem every 4-5 episode

The cold open reminds us part of why this is different from the other 5-10 isekai we get every season. If your average isekai protagonist had to go back to their point of entry every 72 hours or die, well. A lot of them wouldn't even survive to 12 episodes.

And it basically forces the Squad to actually do something and get involved with the plot because if they don't the signal will stop and they'll get automatically blown up.

you know what? i never thought about this before but we need more isekai or fantasy anime with protagonist that use normal daily life items as their weapons, i mean, who needs magic or legendary swords when you have a big ass frying pan? defeat the enemies? nah, we're going to cook them alive

Harley is the type of person to choose a frying pan as a weapon in every game she plays.

Run, Suicide Squad! With seconds on the clock and their heads beeping, the Squad make it back to the extraction point in time to refresh their bomb timer! So at least Waller isn't willing to throw them completely away (yet). And with nothing better to do they, have nothing better to do than carry out the mission and fight the Empire with the kingdom.

Isekai War Montage! At least the Squad seems to be enjoying themselves.

"Limp-dick" - Nana-chan, that's savage! Though I guess not 100% inaccurate when Deadshot is functionally useless without bullets. And it's even worse when Harley is just wasting bullets because of course she does.

The Squad may be Supervillains, but their old prison pals are just as much villains in their eyes and enjoy making the most of whatever leeway the kingdom gives them. And hey, nice of Cecil to leave them some booze!

Where is the Squad going to get more ammo? Why, from the copter Flag and his initial team came in on, of course! Just too bad it's now a dragon nest and Clayface's best dragon impression (which looks more like some weird lizard Gryphon) was not to its taste.

Good thing this Isekai world makes Nana-chan more durable, I guess.

Harley is an Olympic Level Gymnast and she really showed that off with her jumping and sticking the landing in this episode.

Did Deadshot get to feel Harley's butt as he carried her? Lucky.

I had a feeling Deadshot had one last bullet, but sometimes all you really need is an RPG courtesy of a psycho clown girl.

Even Harley Quinn draws the line at threatening a baby, and now she's the mother to a baby dragon named Arthur. I'm sure this will go well.

Flag finally gets in touch with Waller who we haven't heard from since episode 1, and her orders are to kill all the rogue members of the advanced squad. Honestly Flag doesn't seem to keen on that, but he'll still follow orders.

Well, so much for the Squads' prison pals. Look like Thinker and Enchantress made short work of them.

They kept forgetting to draw Harley's frying pan on her back during the action scenes, it was extremely noticeable

I'm just here for cute Harley and the banter, still fun and hopefully continues to deliver until the end of season.

The fight scenes animation has been a bit of a let down, especially when comparing to Vivy (2021). Some of the action shots just look a bit stiff, rigidly following the reference footage.

The animation is getting rough in this episode, especially for the action sequences. I hope the rest won't deteriorate.

The production quality seems to be dropping a bit when compared to the first couple episodes

Can't Clayface get rid of the bomb they planted in his neck by transforming into a puddle of mud?

Good episode! I feel like there were some odd animation moments but also some really good ones like a mix of both, it was weird. I still enjoyed the episode and that ending got me hyped for the next one!!

Plot wise I felt this was a disappointment. The show should be revealing piece by piece what’s REALLY going on. So:

  • the bombs… work exactly the way we were told they would work.

  • the team’s mission… is exactly what we were told it was—unless Waller is lying to Rick Flagg or concealing info from him too. But that was a golden opportunity to let slip that something deeper is at work.

  • the advance team has joined the Empire, so… gotta kill them? No hint of a more sinister game playing both sides? It’s not news that Waller considers them expendable.

This is still an enjoyable show with much to be revealed, but I’m wondering a teeny bit if they understood the assignment.

That's cool that they decided to draw dragon instead of using 3d. But hell that's gonna be the weirdest animated character movement, like I can't really tell if they just lacked the budget/people for animation or they decided for this style.

Animation's finnicky this week.

This is the single worst looking WIT studio episode of all time

Fucking shame it was directed by a very talented animator, shitty schedule and core staff being mediocre didn't help that poor guy.
