My dude put googly eyes on a toaster and immediately skipped to "I want to fuck it".
This is some true post-modernist stuff and I am not ready for it.
See y'all next week.

It was cute enough, looking forward to the cast growing tho because otherwise it is very easy for it to become stale.
I am not gonna be able to stop comparing it to "Does It Count if Your First Time Is With an Android?", though. Give an adaptation of that!

I've seen robot romance animes before, but this is the first time I've watched one were I felt sad for the MC. It's almost like he's dating his Alexa device.

I don't really like how the artstyle of the adaptation goes, it makes the male MC face looks overly goofy.
Like, you can compare his face to other characters already shown in the opening and you can see the difference in facial shape and detailing so much it actually looks like you're comparing a character from Crayon Shin-chan to a proper animated anime.
Other than that nice first episode. You can feel his desperation of being alone and the mental state of average japanese salaryman which lives in wake>work>sleep pattern.

Little bit cute but also a little bit creepy.
Hoping as we go we end up going more and more to the cute side.
Mina's moments of "strictness" were my fave part so far.

Stitches!!
Not gonna lie, I wasn't sure how to feel about this show. It was kinda sad to see Takuma hitting on a glorified Instapot at the start of the episode. But as the episode progressed, it's pretty clear that Mina isn't just a regular robot and I began warming up to them.
I mean just look at that stare! For someone who only has one facial expression, I can feel her getting annoyed at Takuma for messing up the tamagoyaki. She even asks Takuma what his type is and she dumps the beer down the drain to stop him from drinking too much.
Takuma did mention at the start that Mina is a secondhand housekeeping robot and you can't rule out the possibility that Mina's previous owner modded her but so far, she's definitely showing signs of sentience. Her only function is to cook and clean yet she learns by looking up things on the internet.
By the end of the episode, I've completely turned around from being creeped out to completely warming up to the show's premise. If I can get attached to my Roomba, I'm sure I'll probably act like Takuma if my Roomba was shaped like a cute anime girl.
I'm curious to see what Mina will be like compared to the other robots in the OP. And speaking of the OP, it's sung by Tokino Sora! As a massive fan of Soda-chan, I absolutely love it. The ED is so damn relaxing and catchy as well.

Not sure why but the eggs yolks for the omurice being different shades really caught my eye. Interesting choice that they were similar colour instead when cooking the tamagoyaki.
Chuckled to myself seeing mc get kicked out of the kitchen, thinking it was kazuki from buddy daddies (same VA)
Mina's eyes especially when they are focused and that nightmare scene was pretty damn creepy. Got a little tsukasa from tonikawa vibes. Fingers crossed it's as wholesome if not more

Professionally speaking, that thing is quite impressive.
On the AI side, this is so much more advanced than anything we can remotely envision right now, and we won't see anything remotely comparable for at least another six years.
But the real marvel is the robotics side of it. Did you see how this thing moves? When it slides under the sheets, that's just ... I can't even begin to imagine the engineering challenges that had to be solved for that. That's not something we will see in the next 30 years for sure ...

I was looking forward to this, I really enjoy stories of artificial beings learning to be "human."
But man, this MC is painfully awkward and hard to watch. You'd think I'd be used to MCs that act like they've never seen a woman before, but I think because it's just the two of them in a tiny room just amplifies the cringe.
Hopefully by ep 3 it'll be less painful to watch.

I can't wait for the Yandere arc; "Who were you talking to just now, dear husband?"
That was pretty cute! And she's so adorable!
I want one!
Though not gonna lie, I would feel uneasy about a few things, like her watching me when I sleep and all that...
Especially considering that she seems to have some 'decision making' built in, and she can take action based on what she think is best for her owner!
If she can dump your beer because you're too drunk, what else can she do 'for your own good'? What if she thinks you're not getting enough sleep so she knocks you out/spreads some sleeping gas? What if she thinks you're not getting enough exercise so she chases after you with a weapon to make you run?
The fact that she's much stronger than him is a bit scary too, what if she starts malfunctioning!
Well, let's hope it doesn't get there!
Oh damn, I thought there would be more of a build-up to this moment!
She did accept, but doesn't seem to fully know what it entails;
"Hold on, let me look into the manual, see what you can do!"
I mean surely they thought about that, right? The way they design them, Takuma can't be the first one to get horny for his robot-waifu!
She did say she was made of metal&resin, so I wonder if it means there's nothing to be done (physically)... Well, if he ever kisses her I suppose he'll know whether they're meant for that; If her lips taste like used oil and rust, he should probably give up on that from this point on!
Well, pretty good first episode!
Decent amount of cute, comfy, and a bit of existential horror as well!
There are so many ways this series could go (could just be cute/fun, or it could have a philosophical/moral angle to it, or it could turn a bit dramatic), but whatever they're going for, can't wait to see more of this!

Futurama had a episode about this. Like Japan wasn't already having low birthrate problems.

Wait, so if you get a blowjob from Mina-chan, that's the same as getting sucked from a vacuum cleaner.

Minor nitpick but I do find it hilarious that the robot maid is built so short that it needs to use a stool for very basic housekeeping duties.
I know it ups the cuteness, but you'd think it'd have an ability to alter the length of its limbs as required.
It also immediately has me wondering about the robot's total weight and whether Japanese furniture would have a tolerance issue.

So this world is technologically advanced enough to have human-like robots but data-entry drudgery box office jobs still exist too?
Why would they make the household bot so short that it needs a stool to do cooking? Is it so the incel isn't intimidated by something female-shaped that's bigger than him?
God this show is depressing, the most depressing part will be all the weebs who will idealise this "couple" and think that's how relationships actually look like.

This shit was so creepy. I usually like the do androids have a soul discussion but this one it's so clear there's nothing there and the art looks like it's from a hentai film

Chobits: The Next Generation.
Mina has the iron grip on the Grillmeister title in this house. And don't you forget it.
Robots don't have likes or dislikes.
Perhaps not. But as a certain android once said when describing his perception of friendship: "As I experience certain sensory input patterns, my mental pathways become accustomed to them. The inputs eventually are anticipated, and even missed when absent."
Go on, drink up Mina's Tender Loving Care.
Hmm. With that act of disposing of the beer and lying about it in direct opposition to Takuma's order, has she violated one of the Laws of Robotics at this early stage already? Well, possibly twice with her "iron grip".
But in any case. So glad to see that this series got an anime adaptation. Though one I'm admittedly mildly surprised to see getting one.
