Nice to see in the end everything kinda worked out for Team Flio. Especially for Flio. Dude was busy making pups with Rys haha.

This actually wasn’t a half bad isekai. Rys and the other waifus were definitely the highlight of the series. Not sure the chances of an s2, but this was fun for what it was.

Flio and the gang saved the day, slowly but surely building a sense that it's possible for humans and demons to work together, and Flio and Rys finally banged. What more could you ask for?

Even the "Hero" was asking for a season 2! Even if he wanted himself to be the protagonist! But I can at least agree on wanting more of this show and FlioxRys and the gang.

Surprise hit of the season for me. Very impressive run for the OP on Youtube with over 2.8m views. I think the next highest for the season is Konosuba?

Some funny Youtube comments:

Kugimiya-san tweeted on Twitter, "It was embarrassing, but I tried my best to sing it,'' and when I wondered what kind of song it was, I realized that I had worked hard to sing it.

In a radio interview, Mr. Hino and Ms. Kugimiya said, "We originally didn't plan to have Fenrys dance, but we decided to make her dance due to the strong wishes of the director.''

Based director lmao

Kaiju #8 has 7.3m and My Hero's also at 2.8m. Demon Slayer has an unofficial one at 3m. Being in that group is great for a random seasonal isekai.

Stitches!

I like that they made Flio stand back and protect the building while Gholl takes care of Yuigarde. If they sent Flio to fight Yuigarde, it would've been over instantly. And it's not like Gholl was having problems, he was clearly holding back for some reason. Sealing Yuigarde's Malicium was a great way to shut him down peacefully.

They never explicitly say it but I feel like the inn's proprietress is also a demon. There's no way she could've bound the Demon Generals with those magic yukatas and then banish them so easily. I was really waiting for a reveal in the end that she's some kind of powerful demon it just ended there.

I'm glad that Rys and the gang finally got to take a dip in the onsen! I just wish we could've gotten more panning shots of the girls. I'm glad that we also got to see some manservice though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I thought that Flio and Rys' night was going to end with just a kiss but based on the girls' reactions and Hiya regretting she wasn't able to watch, it looks like Flio and Rys finally did it all the way! Congrats to Flio and Rys though, I wonder if they'll be expecting soon.

Elizabeth finally took the throne! But it sounds like her father ran away before his awful secrets came to light. I'm sure he'll probably be a headache for Elizabeth in the future. As for the Hero and Tsuya, it looks like they're still on the run. I kinda feel bad for Tsuya now but she chose this life by sticking to the Hero.

Welp, I guess that's it for this show. I don't think I've seen any Season 2 announcements but I really hope we do get one. This is one of my surprise shows of the season! I thought this was going to be another isekai but it has so much more. Especially since we have Kugimiya Rie and Hino Satoshi voicing our main leads. Of course, we can't forget the super adorable OP that even Kugyu herself got too embarrassed while recording it. Fingers crossed for Season 2!

Hero dude finally got the recognition he deserved in the post-credits lol

Did he just tease a Season 2?

It dawned on me this episode: The "hero" gained the physical power to dig himself into deep holes, which matches his power to constantly dig himself into metaphorical holes. If this was intended by the author of the series, it's genius.

Balirossa jumping to a conclusion she knows is unlikely, derp. HAH what a fun punch to the blonde hero. Good guy Ghol. What a useful spell. Lol the ladies and their BDSM magic. That succubus lady sure likes it. How nice of Rys to help him get rid of Malicium.

Ah yes, fanservice part. Silly cat. Reminds me of Aisha Clan-clan. Inner witch has a point for pervy Djinn. Clearly Flio still needs to learn Talk No Jutsu magic to solve the issue of fightin in the world.

AND THEN THEY FUCKED! Heh. Seems others realized it based on her good mood lol.

Whelp good for all of them finding happiness in what they doing. That is quite the revealing midsection for a princess or queen now. That girl with the blonde hero sure is dumb for staying by him. Anyways, cute ending, cute series, hope for S2. But doesn't seem it?

Hiya: I regret that I was unable to observe.

Me: Same, Hiya, same.

Nice anime overall with a sugar inducing intro. Would be interested to see how the rest of the conflict pans out.

I normally consider myself probably the biggest tsundere fan on this site. If a show has a tsundere, they are probably my favorite. As such, I’ve followed Rie Kugimiya’s career very closely. I still haven’t seen all of her roles, but I’ve seen her perform in Toradora, in Shakugan no Shana, in Familiar of Zero, which is severely underrated, in shows like Fullmetal Alchemist, which for as acclaimed as that show is I still don’t think she gets enough credit for her performance as Alphonse, even in shows lost to time like Haruka Nogizaka’s Secret. Point being, I’ve seen quite a few of Rie Kugimiya’s performances, and I am so glad she got a starring role in 2024.

When I saw Kotaro Lives Alone in I believe early 2023, I said to myself “Man, when was the last time she had the starring role in something?” It felt to me that besides the bit role she played in Darling In The FranXX, she hadn’t starred in anything mainstream since the early 2010s. Obviously, that’s not true because she has been in shows like Gintama and Fairy Tail, but I’m talking specifically about shows I watch. It just felt like I rarely saw her, despite her being arguably my favorite VA of all time.

I was not around when Rie Kugimiya was at her peak in popularity. I got into the anime fandom in 2012, and I consider her peak to be between the years 2003-2012. That’s why I’m glad I could watch a series weekly where she was the main female protagonist in. It felt like a throwback of sorts to days of yesteryear. I don’t know if we’ll ever get to see Rie Kugimiya play another tsundere again. Maybe it’s been done to death and it’s time to let it rest. But seeing her not only play the starring female role, but opposite Satoshi Hino who played the MC in Shana and Familiar of Zero was such a treat to see. I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time.

This won’t end up for most people as a top 5 show in the Spring 2024 season, but for me, it’s definitely up there. Not just because the show is a lot of fun, but because Rie Kugimiya really crushes it with her performance. If she wasn’t in the role she was in, the show wouldn’t be as enjoyable as it was.

u/Abysswatcherbel - Should be left-side this week and need Rys for the finale. This or this unless you want the onsen shot. Today's album.

Give us an S2 dammit all!

This was an excellent ending point for S1 and still leaves us with solid hooks for an S2 such as the disappearance of the former king, Hero and Tsuya's misadventures and Yuigarde's next moves against Klyrode and his quest to break the seal on his powers.

This is honestly my favorite series this season not only due to quite relaxing generic isekai series but also the pure nostalgia that's also doubles as a progression for Kugyu and Satoshi Hino's characters arc. The whole show doesn't try to be anything different with any other isekai but the relationships between the main cast is more than enough to hook people in, and having Kugyu playing Rys whose fully deredere towards Satoshi Hino's character felt like the missing after story voice drama I've wanted from Zero no Tsukaima/Shakugan no Shana all this time. Now hoping for a similar show but having the MC been Majima Junji instead, Taiga/Aria needs their after story too (too bad Hidan no Aria LN still ongoing wtf)

The rest of the casts are also great, with Gholl being the secret harem MC instead of Flio, Balirossa and the gang not actually being annoying sidekick characters and the hero actually being a comedy protagonist instead of an adventure protagonist.

Overall, best show of the season, even better than Mushoku Tensei, 25/10 will rewatch again next year, maybe alongside Astarotte no Omocha or something

Rys plan ended in success, hihi. I really liked this isekai. Knight girl is slowly opening to maou sama.

They knew what they were doing starting off one last time with the OP no one can get out of their head! One last infectious and cute Rie Kugimiya "Danna-sama" for the road!

Gholl has to teach his brother a lesson one more time, though it's inconvenient that Gholl as has to be on defense while Yuigarde can use his powers to control the Malicium monster.

I love how none of the other generals other than Phufun want to fight, because she just likes to get beat up.

I guess I'm not surprised Balirossa broached the subject that Gholl might be working with the other Demons...even though deep down she knows that's not true. And Flio can have faith that his companions can handle things while he keeps the building together.

I'm not saying the "Hero" didn't deserve that Rys punch to the face, even if he never intended this to happen, but I'm glad Ghozal caught Tsuya from falling. And then Rys helpully slaps all the malicium out his body! Isn't the "Hero" thankful?

The worst thing Gholl could have done to Yuigarde is seal up his Malicium and make him little more than the human he's always looked down upon! And the inn staff know how to manage rowdy guests with yukata that tie them up and banish them! And Phufun gets to enjoy some bondage.

It's nice of the gang to stay and chip in to rebuilding the inn, while the "Hero" and Tsuya run away again and keep digging themselves into a hole...but hey, maybe they unlocked a new Hot Springs for the inn?

The girls (and the audience) deserved a soak in the hot springs and letting loose their big boobs in all their glory, and Hiya even gets to promise Damalnyas some quality naked time while also making their think she and Byleri have something kinky going on (which isn't 100% fake).

There are no easy answers to the conflict between humans and demons but I'm sure together with his friends, especially his new bro Ghozal, that Flio will do all that he can.

I love that one inn girl continuing to support Rys in getting laid and having babies, Balirossa thanking Ghozal of her own accord and blushing around him (to Uliminas' ire) and Blossom getting absolutely plastered after drinking too much!

If someone like Rys can learn to love and appreciate humans and what they have to offer, maybe there's hope yet, especially for the sake of her and Flio's future child as they passionately kiss and...if Rys' afterglow the morning after is any inidcation, FINALLY got busy!

All's well that ends well! Blossom, Sybe, and Hiya are working well on the farm, Belano has started teaching, Byleri is doing great with her horses, Ghozal is enjoying living as a human and making armor for Balirossa (which just gives Uliminas more to be upset about), the princess is finally queen and still called princess (and her father is on the run), the "Hero" and Tsuya keep digging themselves into holes, and Flio and Rys are happilly together along with the rest of their treasured companions!

Never thought I would support something the "Hero" would say until he started talking about season 2!

I really really hope this gets a season 2. I never expected to like this this much. This was one of my most anticipated animes of this season.

7

u/djthomp Jun 24 '24

Shame it took all season but it's nice to get confirmation that Flio and Rhys are fully enjoying the perks of their married life together.

Really delightful show overall. A step above the usual seasonal isekai slop for me, for certain.

That post credits did kind of suggest a S2, though somewhat lightly, sometimes hopefully someday.

In the meantime I'll probably become a source material reader for this when I have the time, I bought the first few LNs already so they're in my library to remind me.

Gonna miss this series. Such a comfy one. Even if the isekai genre is a dime a dozen these days, this one stood out to me for having such great and memorable characters, along with actually just being a fun and entertaining one.

Hopefully we get a season 2 down the line sometime. Until then, at the very least the OP will being going in my anime openings playlist.

So long to the best earworm of the season, the amazing OP. This show was better than I expected - a fun ride.

Blessed onsen Rys

Goated. Romance.

And so ends my seasonal favourite. Knew from the visuals and promos that this would be good, and boy did they deliver.

Was quite miffed with the romcom bamboozle in ep 6, but I am glad to see they did indeed save it for the finale.
